Happy Memorial Day! I thought it was Sunday all day!

I broke down and had few rum and coke zeros last night but I'm still down 7lbs in one week!

5/19 - 160

5/8 208.2
5/13 203.2 (TOM just started...oh joy)
5/14 202.2
5/15 203
5/16 202.2 (TOM is winding down)
5/19 202.8 (TOM, aka The Sneaky Jerk, did NOT wind down until last night...I'm SO bloated!!)
5/20 202.4
5/21 201.9 Onederland...so close yet so far!
5/22 200.8
5/23 200.4 Please, oh please...I WANT Onederland!!!!
5/27 200 So close...sooooo close!!

I was actually expecting worse. This weekend was full of food "surprises". My daughter is graduating next week and it seems like every time I blink the school is hosting some sort of celebration that involves a sit down dinner (tonight it's the Honors Banquet...proud of my girl!!!). None of these dinners have been Stillmans friendly so I spent the weekend trying to eat as low carb/low fat as I could. I met my boyfriends family on Sunday and they decided to fire up the grill when we got there so at least I could eat meat without sticking out like a sore thumb.
I'm an emotional eater (as most of us are) and this weekend was hard for me. When I'm upset I either starve or smother my pain in chocolate/ice cream/cheesecake/etc. I'm struggling with realizing that my entire life is starting over at 41 (soon to be 42). I never in a million years thought I'd find myself in this situation and am struggling with being on my own, navigating the dating/new boyfriend thing, holding my family together, living on one income, and feeling lonely as hell through all of it. Sorry for venting about all of this here...this has nothing to do with Stillmans but it does explain why I ate a damn cupcake yesterday...lol. This, too, shall pass.

WOW, I suck.. LOL I had to go all the way back to page 6 for my daily weighs.... Oh well.

May 1 - 209.8
May 2 - 209.2
May 3 - 209.2
May 4 - 207.0
May 5 - 206.6
May 6 - 206.4
May 7 - 206.2
May 8 - DNW
May 9 - 206.2
May 10-22 Off wagon. Tried to stick to LC, but there were a couple binges in there....
May 23 - 208.4 Reality check. Started Fat Fast
May 24 - 206 Nice!
May 25 - 206.2 ??
May 26 - 204.4 Nice!
May 27 - 203.2 Even Nicer!

At this rate there may be a possibility of hitting Onederland by the end of the month (ha! the goal was 195 but oh well).

Due to the results, I'm trying to stay on FF for a bit longer, although I am having one meal with protein each day. Last night I had a homemade hamburger with cheese and bacon on it (sorry stillies, don't mean to make you salivate). I have decided to keep like this until I stall out again, then I will go back to strict Stills. I'm gonna stay hanging out with you all if that's okay though!

D2L: Hang in there! You will probably have something incredible to celebrate tomorrow. Focus on your victories and maybe even the good parts of your future challenges. It will get you through and you'll be stronger on the other side! And don't worry about venting here. I believe we've all done it or will do so at some point. Us ladies are able to relate quite well to each others non-diet struggles.

Too scared to get on the scale today. I blew it off so bad last night. I stepped on the scale Friday and it had bounced back up a little so I imediately got off of it not even letting it save the weight. (wii fit. It yells at me if I gain weight.) I found out that bounce was due to TOM. Saturday was alright eating wise. I ate before I went to work and did a ton of walking there and didn't eat again till Sunday morning. Sunday night me and DH went to the drive in and a bucket of fried chicken went with us. I would have been fine if I hadn't of ate all the biscuits that came with that bucket. Yesterday being a holiday was bad. It didn't start out that way though. I ended the night with (low carb crustless) pizza and Dairy Queen (doomsday music plays)

Back to business now

Kandi...are we life twins or something?? LOL!! I have three girls and just walked away from everything...my home, my belongings, my life. We were married for 14 years. Amazingly similar stories! Starting over sucks and I do feel too old to be starting over. I'm even embarrassed to use the word "boyfriend" when talking about the new guy in my life (not to mention the fact that after going through everything with my ex I am now needy, insecure, and having trust issues lol...yup he's getting a prize!!).

D2L, I am sorry about what you're going through. These are the times that show us what we're made of.
I know you feel like your life has been torched, but have faith that something beautiful will rise from the ashes. The universe is simply making room for something even better, something that requires you to shed almost everything you know in order to learn how to have it.
You are undergoing a rebuild.
This is your chance at self discovery, and renewal. Once the growing pains begin to subside, I'll bet you find yourself in a place where you feel very steady. Sure it takes time, but you aren't standing still in the meantime. Take another look at your May numbers. I hope you realize how far you've come in taking charge of your new life. I am very impressed with you!

I'm glad you have each other!!
Who'da thunk it, on a diet message board you find parallel life stories and such great support. Every day I'm more amazed by the heart of this group.

Look at you go!! Even after all the graduation celebrations, your body is still cooperating quite well. Your new pic looks beautiful btw, congrats girl!

SexyBack, it sounds like you have the right idea. When I was doing FF I was so freakin' tired all the time, one protein meal would've been a good way to go.

I haven't gotten on the scale in a couple of days, I'm waiting in hopes I will see a big change. After my night of some vodka and diet tonics, I was back in the purple on the ketostix the next day and stayed on track with my eating. I don't feel like it did any damage but I guess the scale will tell all in a couple of days...

Stormie and Awillia, excellent!!

May 28 - 202.0 This is great! I wouldn't even say I'm still doing FF anymore, but admittedly I'm not doing Stillman's either. This is what I ate yesterday:

B: tea with splenda and 2 tbls HWC. Two slice bacon, one slice cheddar.
S: tea with splenda and 2 tbls HWC
L: Peanut butter fat bomb, one Peanut butter Cream cheese cloud. Can of diet pepsi.
S: one more fat bomb. Half cup tea with the HWC.
D: I made a throw together meal. Ground beef (lean) fried in bacon fat (gotta use it somehow!) with sauted onions, garlic, and canned tomatos, with a can of tomato paste, a bit of liquid, and I used some seasonings I buy from Epicure Selections (Canadian thing, but they are the BOMB!), Fajita and Salsa mix, which are really low carb (per serving), and it turned out to be like a taco chilli without the beans. I had about a cup of that with some shredded cheddar melted on top. I also had two squares of really dark chocolate for dessert.

And I still lost 1.2 lbs. This is crazy. I think my body likes the fat, I always thought it was what was slowing me down. But when I keep my protein more moderate, I'm seeing more movement. So I'm going to stick to this method for a while. I still get my sweets, and I can have my salty meat, and the fat is satisfying.

I have no idea what "diet" this would fall under... Maybe Ketogenic? Or just plain LFHC? I love you all, this group is awesome, but I would hate to blow up the Stillman's board with success while using a completely different method. LOL

Who'da thunk it, on a diet message board you find parallel life stories and such great support. Every day I'm more amazed by the heart of this group.
ME too Annie

I am TOMing LOL, so not sure what the weigh in will be on the 31st. But it's a 7 lb loss so far. I am quite happy with that.

Sexy, stay with us, regardless of the plan. You shook things up, and the body responded. That's great news. Everyone's success rubs off on me, and I live vicariously through each of your scale losses.

My goal for June would be to not be such a wimp and get on the scale every day. I feel bad not weighing in daily and posting my daily numbers here, but I do admit I freak out when the scale does it's weird up down thing.

Hi and new to Stillman's

I'm Lillian in Michigan.
I had done Atkins years ago, but my husband recommended Stillman's. He said it had worked for him years ago.
We have a freezer full of venison and I get 2 dozen eggs a week from a lady a few miles down the road, so I figure I should be all set. Seems I can also indulge my addiction to sardines on this plan - and kippered herring (so long as the ingredient list is OK).
If a fish is packed in oil, can I just wash it off with hot water and that be OK?
Also, is it OK to make bone broth with bones and water and a splash of vinegar to draw out the minerals? My husband doesn't think so because HE never used it, but I don't see why it wouldn't be OK.

Hmmm. It looks like you are by far a more adept cook than me! I think your plan for the fish is okay but others might have a different suggestion. As for the bone broth, I had no idea using vinegar did that.... I can't imagine why it would be a problem. Anyone else??

May 25 - 206.2 ??
May 26 - 204.4 Nice!
May 27 - 203.2 Even Nicer!

LOL
Congrats and whatever workes for you is the key

I think any lean protein should be ok...I would wash off the oil and eat the fish. Eat what you like that is lean protein, so you stay on the plan as long as possible. I have never made bone broth, so try it if you like it or want to. Let your scale guide you on whether to keep it or discontinue.

I freak out, too! I've been weighing M, W, F only and today I was up 2.5 lbs from MONDAY! UGH. When I see that I start to question the program and try to convince myself to throw in the towel and binge!

Sexy, don't go anywhere!! I think the main point here is weight loss support and no matter what plan we do, we are all in the same boat right?
Plus I would miss you so much!

Starting over yet AGAIN because I'm tired of being fat and ugly. My goal is 165 by July 20. That's 15 pounds in a month and a half+ so I think it's totally doable if I stick to plan.

Day 1..........183.0
Day 2..........180.2..........2.8 lbs lost

Apparently I was pretty bloated, but I still feel "fluffy" lol so maybe I'll see another good drop tomorrow. I'm setting weekly goals, and this week I hope to be at 178 by Sunday.

It's great to be back!
