Wow, well done Kandi - after all you've been through, you may end up being this months Biggest Loser not that we are competing.
Sorry about your hubby woes

Apr28 200.3<~ who does that?

I dont get it , I barely consumed any food for 2 days , then yesterday , here was my entire day of eating ( yea it wasnt Stillmans but it was Atkins 72)....
-ONly had 3 bottles of water compared to my normal 7-8 (could be factor)
-I did have 3 Dt Mt Dews which I havent had soda in 2 weeks(Prob is a Factor)
-I ate Bacon in the morning about 5 pieces
-I made a crustless pizza Just cheese, Sausage, pepperoni, onions and peppers(think that triggered sweet cravings)
-2 pieces of Broiled Chicken thighs 1/2 cup of green beans.
-Sugar free Jello with hwc on top(maybe)

ok ok, so i suppose i overdid it even with being low carb, but almost 4 pounds over night really? I wanna scream, I thought I was truly planted in ONderland this time , i truly was expecting a little bit of a spike but all the way back up there ahhhhhhh...I dont see how the JUDDD losers lose, i have tried that diet before and its more of a maintence thing for me, cuz when u think about it basically, for 2 days i barely ate, then consumed at slightly over moderate level and boom, oh well , im not giving up by any stretch of the means, i simply would like to reach my goal of 195 by Aprils end, I was oh so close , back at it again strong and hard this week...( Im beginning to hate the weekends again)

The only thing I see is a lot of sodium - that would for sure swell me up But I'm very salt sensitive - ymmv - power down the water to flush it out

I agree with Suzanne... Lots of salt! It's where I went off track last week. Lots of salt on a day where I didn't drink nearly enough water, so I think that four lbs is water. Drink drink drink today! Are you feeling puffy? Don't sweat it! (LOL or maybe DO!) It's a set back is all, you've done really well with the fat loss part, now it's to get rid of that water. I know I'm really sensitive. I LOVE things like bacon, sausage, pepperoni, cheese... all things with salt. It's really incredible how our bodies react to the food we give it, now that we are paying attention.

So, I'm still sticking around.... I'm going to enjoy my last couple of days of salty meat and cheese (but with crazy amounts of water). I've also bought some herbal tea that doesn't need cream or splenda, so I can try and kick this dairy habit. LOL. Three more days then on to the May Stillman's month! (here's me trying to get pumped up!)

Glad you're sticking around! Enjoy these last few days. I think I have every herbal tea out there and it really does help. I especially love the Bengal Spice by Celestial Seasonings, if you like a sweet, spicy taste.

Kandi Yep, I agree, it's the salt. Pump that water!

Hi All!!! Been on Stillmans for 9 days and have lost 7 pounds. Off to a good start!! I have the OLD Stillman diet book, but do not have his recipe book. I read the sticky at the beginning of this blog and the recipes are darn good, however I am still looking for more. If anyone has any could you please post some, or menu ideas. When Dr Stillman wrote his book we didn't have things like "low fat this and fat free that" so maybe we can add a few things?? Like back in the 60's there was no turkey products (bacon, hotdogs, patties) Just am curious of what you all think. Thanks and all of you keep up the GOOD WORK!!

I noticeably can see a difference and feel it when I overdo it on the sodium. Personally, I think everyone is different in regards to how much salt we get on low carb. I noticed I can easily lose water weight just by being mindful of my salt intake.

Hi everyone. I started Stills a few weeks ago (after a significant weight loss) and have seen good results so far. I know April is almost over but I'm hoping to join you all in Mays challenge. I have been following this thread and finally decided to stop being shy and jump in. You guys are such an inspiration and the support you offer each other is just awesome!

Well done boisegirl, that's a great loss. I'm a monotonous eater so the limited foods did me well, I used a lot of the Jenni O turkey products, the italian sausages, the lean turkey bacon, which is surprisingly low sodium too, scramble with eggs or however you like them, a dab of reduced sugar ketchup and I was good to go.
I liked to mix it up with shrimp and scallops on occasion - made grocery shopping really easy but it's just me

Determined2lose, jump right in, it's always good to see how others tackle this plan and the results that come with it.

Well Ladies, I'm on vacation for the next 6 days and my friend arrives today, so I'm being loosey goosey for the next few. I'll be switching to more Atkins style and some cocktails along the way, I'll try to keep the damage to a minimum, I really have no desire for sweets or breads, I just know the alchohol will jump me up - but hey, life happens
I'll be ready to go next week, first week of May and buckle back down.

Hang in there Kandi! That's the "Bouncing Ball" effect! You'll have another big drop in a couple days, and you'll be wondering why you were so worried.

Thanks SexyBack , I am if anything gonna remain determined, I know it will come back off, but It does get discouraging going back over the same poundage lol, but so is life and I will get to my goal of 175 at some point in my life again, and hopefully by then i will be a fat burning machine and will get lower than i ever have

I am new here, and introduced myself in the May thread, but I was wondering the same thing as boisegirl. Has anyone tried using fat free mayo by any chance, and did it negatively impact their results? Even though it's probably heavily processed, the thought of eating very lean(read:dry) protein sounds daunting...Thoughts?

Hi luminosity, welcome to the group! Coming from LCHF before trying Stillmans, I slathered everything in mayo and cheese which is great tasting, but not showing any loss for me
I say have any fat free products that you can get down, because yes the food is dry without anything. I use the Heinz reduced sugar ketchup on my eggs and meats - 1 carb and 10 cal per TBS and it has really been my saving grace on this woe - I haven't tried the fat free mayo.
I am quite a plain eater and keep my sodium low, but you can use broth and all the spices you want to keep things lively - Good Luck

Thanks SuzanneM for your reply. And luminosity I would like mayo to dip my beef and chicken, but I am afraid of FF Mayo--doesn't it have sugar? I don't know if there is anything we can use. I did purchase Walden Farms BBQ sauce, but I only use 1 tsp, and I also purchased Walden Farms pancake syrup. Again only 1 tsp to dip turkey bacon or turkey sausage. That's about it--If any of you have any suggestions, please post. I have been eating a lot of cottage cheese mixed with Carbmaster yogurt and have been losing pretty regularly Thanks and keep up the good work!!!

Thanks for this, Suzanne. I did what you did with LCHF, and made 0 weight loss progress since the beginning of the year, however, I must say it didn't feel like a diet and I didn't feel deprived at all. I really loved eating that way, so for maintenance, I can completely see myself following LCHF a majority of the time. Enjoy your time in Vegas !

Wow... nice to hear all these experiences. I felt great for awhile on low carb but seeing that low fat sometimes works, but not at all the time
