I lost 20 lbs just in month #1 last time around
I never ever cheated , I lost the remaining 10 lbs in month 2
I drank no alcohol in month 1 but I did in month 2

This time around things are moving a little slower and I hit a stall wayyy sooner .
This will teach me to mess up my maintain phase . As I said before I was able to maintain for 2 years by doing modified stillmans 5 days a week and eating whatever I wanted in the other 2 days, and only working out 3 days per week
I can't wait to get back on maintenance !!

Just have to beat this darn stall !

Your maintenance plan sounds great - you will get there! I maintained 110 for just over a yr, doing atkins 72, and thats what I will probably do after stillmans. I hope someone is able to help you with your stall, seems like this thread has been quiet this weekend...I just joined it the other day so I don't know how chatty is typically is.

I know in Atkins 72, if I am eating minimally, and I up my calories on legal foods, sometimes that helps shake things up a bit. Maybe try that? Alternatively, a day of just eggs could help too, they are a natural diuretic and sometimes help me through a stall. I do soft boiled, 2 for each meal and lots of water. Hang in there!

Good Morning Group,

I hope everyone is doing well! Just popping in to post my 1 week stat. I can only weigh once a week because my scale bounces around too much! Oh hamburgers...I understand your frustration with that. I would literally weigh 3 - 4 times in a row and get different weights then just choose the number that showed up more than once. Hence the reason I only weigh ONCE A WEEK now. I can't handle that kind of frustration.

I stayed on plan the entire week which is rare for me. I usually don't trust the process and give in to temptation but I'm finding the longer I stay OP the easier it becomes. I hope to be at goal of 125 by April 1. Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday!

Feb 2 - 154 / starting weight
Feb 9 - 143 / 1 week (water weight but whatever)

So far no cheats! I started the day with two hard boiled eggs and black coffee. I need to drink more water, I KNOW i am not drinking the recommended amount. Working on that! Today to avoid getting bored, I am trying a meal from one of the Stillman recipe threads. I sort of modified it based on stuff I already had. Into the crock pot, two boneless pork chops with visible fat removed, 2 tbsp reduced sugar katchup (2 carbs, 10 cal), and 1 cup diet coke. Added some crushed red pepper flakes, and a dash of salt free spice blend. Smells great - hope it tastes good too! I am going to cook it till mid afternoon, hoping it sort of reduces to a bbq dish. I will post the results later today.

I saw a 1.6 drop FINALLY
I am going to do eggs, fish, and grilled shrimp this week.
I am going to stop having tuna for a while. I think the salt maybe causing my body to act up. I don't know.
I was at a 162 for a while, 161 for a while and now I am at 160
I have not seen this slow of a loss on Stillmans in years. Wow.
I must be doing something to choke it up. I haven't cheated which is odd.
This week I am going to laid back workouts, nothing crazy, and watch sneaky fats or extras that may be sneaking in there.
I just want to see 159 . I haven't seen the 150 zone in AGES.
If I can just see the 159, I will even more motivated.

Day 22 , here we go.

Kandi - keep it up! Looks like you are doing great, I hope I can make it the 30 days I am aiming for...I am in ketosis now and I am hoping some of the hunger pangs subside. I will be fine and then suddenly I am starving! I have been keeping hard boiled eggs on hand for those moments.

The pork chops I made (noted in the message earlier today) were SOOOOO good! I dont know if its just because I have played it safe so far with plain eggs and meat, and havent had anything flavorful in a few days, but this was delicious! I am going it again tomorrow for sure to use up the rest of the chops. Tonight I think I will put chicken in low sodium broth for a simple soup.

Akagal congrats on the drop!!! You are so close to the 50's!!!

Oooh can I play!? I've tried posting on other M&E boards but it's not very active. I've been doing a Stillmans type plan and didn't know it had a name. I carbed up over the weekend (after a few weeks of deep ketosis I start to not feel good- I could carb up in a better way than I did though! Fruits, veggies, oats.... but no I went ice cream, candy, sugary yogurt..... not the same lol) and am not sure how much I puffed up on the scale. I do know I weighed 190 this morning, 187.5 being my lowest. So it's to be expected. Back on plan! And future carb ups will have to be a little bit better planned and not a WEEKEND worth. Geesh.

Anyhoo, started at 201.8 and got down to 187.5 in just two weeks. So I know this works! I want to keep up Stillmans for at least another few weeks, get into the 170's. I'm really tall so that's a decent weight for me. After that stay low carb, but I'm training for a half marathon (going from not running a mile to trying to run 13) so when my training gets longer and more intense I will have to have carbs, probably oatmeal or an apple on the days I do long runs. Which... let's be honest wont be for some time so I feel fine training ultra low carb for now.

My DH is coming to visit for Valentines Day (he hasn't seen me in six weeks, so he'll be a happy boy! We live apart for work right now until the beg. of next month). BUT he's a total foodie and we're in a new town so he wants to eat out a lot. Which is fine.... I can work around it. I'm hoping to maintain from Thursday to Sunday just eating what I can low carb, because I can't plan those meals... but I can work with it.

Day 1....190

Welcome Sarah! I used to be long distance with my boyfriend (now husband) and whenever we had time together we of corse went out for dinner, drank lots of wine - it was nearly impossible to stay on track...but I would just hope back on the wagon and keep chugging along after he left. The time you spend together is important Right?

Thanks Junebug!

Yeah enjoying out time is important.... and it's only from late Thursday until Sunday evening so I'm banking on not blowing myself up like a balloon but probably wont be losing either. Oh well, I have a couple more days of losing potential before then.

I had not done cottage cheese until tonight. I find myself not really trusting that cottage cheese is okay...seeing it does have carbs. But I know the diet says its fine...and I was craving something cold. Anyone else feel this way? Curious why cottage cheese is allowed? Is it for the calcium I wonder?

Finally

I hit 158.6 today
The 150s

Whew!

I broke through my weight loss stall By eating totally diff foods than I started with
So perhaps my body got used to my tuna and bacon and whatever , I still have my coffee with creamer, won't ever cut that
No alcohol , of course

I cut back the cardio
I Doubled my water intake
started having grilled fish and shrimp
I'm also watching my sodium intake

Stillmans works. Once I hit 30 days , I know I can hang in there
Today is day 24 and I've lost 13.4 lbs
Not bad !!

Doing the 150s dance !

Good work Kandi and June !

Cottage cheese always seemed to work for me when I could stomach it
It didn't seem to stop my loss

I am totally inspired by you, I am on day 6, and if I can make it to day 30 I will be so pleased...my husband and I decided no going out to eat in feb or march as an effort to stash a bit more cash, and the timing works perfectly with stillmans, so I think I can really do no cheats at all.

Day 1 155.5
Day 2 153.5
Day 3 153
Day 4 151
Day 5 150

Day 1.. 190
Day 2.. 189.9

Little over a pound loss, but I'm only 1lbs away from my pre-carb weekend weight. Plus TOM is around the corner, and I just feel bloated in general. Overall I'm really pleased with what's happening here. I'm willing to bet that I puffed up about 4-5lbs after Saturday and Sunday. (I didn't actually weigh in on Monday... heck no). SO ideally tomorrow I'll be back at 187 and keep that number over this weekend with DH and his foody tendencies.

What I need to remember is how carbs make me feel. You always forget when faced with a cookie. But I always puff up and feel sluggish. I know that overall, the carbs that will be in my life will have to be things like sweet potatoes, oats, ect. Things that don't cause puff central. Eventually, that is. Not today!

Kandi, maybe try cutting out the Mnt Dew and switching to a leaner protein at night time? See if that helps shift the scale again? And I know when I eat later than, say, 7pm I never show a good number. But I go to bed around 9. I aim to eat 3-4 hours and move around before hitting the sheets.

I love all the posts today! I felt like this thread was sort of quite there for a while!

Kandi what about flipping your menu around so your eating more in morning, and less at night? It took me a while to get used to the idea, but these days, its not uncommon for me to have pork chops for breakfast, and my eggs at night for dinner. Also, I dont think any veggies are allowed, right?

Sarah great start! Good luck with your weekend...I have had to tell my husband before, listen, I can be a boring dinner date for a few weeks while I whip into shape, or miserable for the rest of my life crying because I am "fluffy"

agagal, i really like Atkins72...it is the original program written by Dr. Atkin in 1972. I got a copy of the book on Amazon used, for about $2 (I think the shipping was more than the cost of the book!). Its worth the read. Its far more basic than todays Atkins program. Induction is basically all meat/fish/poultry and eggs, with just a cup of greens. He tells you to basically be zero carb. Its not like modern Atkins where you can have up to 20 carbs. It is in many ways like Stillmans but no restriction on fat, you can have up to 4oz cheese i think, and cream as well. I went from 140 to 110 on this plan for my wedding. Trying to do Atkins 72 again, after I put the weight back on and then some, wasnt happening as fast as I wanted it to. So I decided to jump start with 30 days if Stillmans, and then I will go back to the 72 plan. On 72, you DO work your way back up to more veggies etc. But I NEVER added in fruit. There is an Atkins72 group on here - its not as active as the regular induction threads, but it IS informative if you dont want to but the book.
