Hi Kandi, I'm around. Just lurking for a few days. It's been a busy week for me so far. You are off to an awesome start! Wow 😳 good going.

My scale is refusing to budge this week. I'm adding more eggs. They seem to get things moving usually. And I've been pretty good about water. We've had to eat out a lot since our kitchen is torn up for a remodel. So I think it's the extra salt in restaurant foods and I'm hoping to see a whoosh eventually

I've been careful about the choices I've made while eating out, making the best of the situation.

Hope everyone else is hanging in there. Lets hear how it's going so we can encourage and support you.

Sue

Kandi, I'm with you on the commitment. I can't afford to fail this time around. Gotta put the yo-yoing behind me.

Stalling and plateaus seem to be part of the process. It happens to just about everyone so I figure the best thing is to be ready to endure through them and fine tune what needs tightening up with food choices.

Hey Everyone!!

I am new to stillman's actually I am new to any low carb diet. I found on of your threads yesterday looking for a quicker way to lose weight. I have been able to drop 40 lbs but it has taken me almost a year. I am not comfortable with not eating fruits or veggies but I promised myself that I would try it for two weeks( no cheating) and if I see a good loss, I will be convinced. I am hopeful! I have a 10th anniversary trip to Costa Rica planned and the clothes to wear but I am going to need to lose the weight.

Congrats on taking off 40lbs! Your Costa Rica trip sounds exciting. Have you been there before? The proteins will definitely take weight off. Be sure and drink lots of water.

I alternate pure protein days with protein/veg days, so Stillman's is basically what I do ever other day haha.

Kandi, It's so exciting that you're closing in on onederland!

Have a great ground hog day, ladies!

Yep, Kandi, hang in there and the scale will eventually drop. My weight bounces a lot so I just take it into account. It's what makes this a psychological game. Haha.

Had a bit of drop today...Sue your words are very encouraging and have helped me to wait patiently for it to continue dropping....Normally I would have already given up, but I am at the very least determined to finish what i started this time for the 30 days

hi everyone....i am in need of help and support..i have been on a no/lo carb diet for 3 years ...lost 30 lbs and kept it off until around this past halloween...i started eating candy and now i have gained ten lbs!! I began on a very strict stillman nocarb and lost quickly then started eating salads with meat and cheese and lots of veggies and alittle fruit ..basically gave up all starch, pasta, bread, potatoes.. but since october i have been eating candy and sugar and i can not stop!..so yesterday i decided its time!...although people think i am fit i feel awful with this extra weight ...i practically stopped exersizing ...my clothes do not fit and i feel lazy and unhealthy ...so its time!!! yesterday i ate eggs and chicken and salad but i was starving and dying for something sweet...was so restless ... and crabby but i stuck with it and signed up here for help and advise and to know im not alone in this!...i want to loose it fast! so i was thinking of going back to the very strict stillman diet ..please remind me how good that works!...i swear i want to sit on the couch and eat a box of valentines candy

Rose,

As you eat the proteins, your appetite for sweets will stabilize. Just eat as many lean proteins as you need to at first. They will get you back in balance

Keep coming here for support and we will cheer you on.

WOE: Stillman Diet
Start Date: February 2014
I'm on Day 3; I did Atkins back in the early '80's and it really worked, and also did the 'Grapefruit Diet' several times through my way younger years. I usually am small (and eat very healthy), but gain about 20-25 pounds every five years or so and this is one of those times. Usually I can lose on my own, but this last time I couldn't (I just don't think I was motivated enough). I tried Nutrisystem and lost weight, but it was WAY too slow - I usually lose about 15 or so pounds in four weeks on my own, but with NS, it took 3 months to lose 16 pounds. I know we're not supposed to be "racing", but when something takes too long we become very frustrated.

So I am doing Stillman. Only thing is that the book won't be here until next week. I ate some nonfat cottage cheese yesterday and then (afterward) took a closer look at the label and it was 8 g's of carbs for half a cup, and I ate a cup. So, just meat and eggs for me today. Plus, I like to ride my bike every day, but it's been really nippy and wet around here for the past several days so I'm not moving around as much.

The best part about this is that I've realized that my "usual" diet (way too many vegetables, fruit, plain yogurt) has too many carbs. I rarely eat meat, and confine my protein to primarily powdered whey. So, now I can lose weight on Stillman's, and then do a redox on my "normal" diet from then on and cut carbs and increase protein. So, at least I'm learning!

Congrats to you, Kandi. You are doing beautifully.

We are a week into February and I'm going to try this new "Mayo Clinic" for two weeks. So, unfortunately I'm not doing strict Stillman's at the moment. I may do it the last week of this month.

I'll check back to see how all of you are doing and your progress.

Keep up the good work, ladies! Just think of those rewards at the end of this journey... smaller sizes, feeling better and in control, healthy you!

Hi Josie

Yes, there seems to always be a learning curve involved in figuring out what works best for our individual lifestyles and personal chemistry both physically and psychologically. We can build on our previous experiences. And I have plenty of experience with different ways of eating, ha!

Foxylady, good luck with Mayo. Do stop back to let us know how you're doing. And thanks for cheering us on. Can never get too much of that

I'm in one of my times of the scale bouncing up before a whoosh. We've been eating out a lot but I'm up for the challenge of being creative in restaurants and staying on plan. Food is more salted in restaurants so I'm most likely up against extra water weight right now also.

I'm looking forward to being able to cook at home again. Kitchen is getting there and stove sb hooked back up in a few days. We have an antique Wedgewood gas stove and we just love it and have missed it during the remodel

Hope everyone is having a productive week.

Sue

Still bouncing around but 72.1 this morning so relatively happy with that, I have been sort of strict but have had peppers and mushrooms, just want to get to 70 as that is my first goal, good luck everyone, we're all going in the right direction xx
