Hey ladies havent been able to log on in awhile, i was doing great until last weekend when my husbnad took me on a surprise trip Philly i ate off plan on sat and sun, and yep gained 6 pounds in those 2 days , I was reading Robins post...I am very similar at this point about any carbs making me gain at this point , i am 41, now going into 40 wow it was the best time of my life, i lost 30 pounds from Jan till May ( my birthday) and it was with alot of ease it was like it just kept coming off, then i heard the words from family that i was too skinny starting to look sick, so i gradually began to eat again , now last year going into 41 yukkos it has been a bttle to even lose a little weight no to mention keeping it off, the least little thing i eat i gain, i had lost 10 pound in three weeks in july of this year, went on vacation, and gained 15 in 3 days and that is no exaggeration, i have been discouraged as i cant seem to get back down, but i am still trying so here are my results since i started this ,

1/2/14 Day 1 209.6
1/3/14 Day2 207.1
1/4/14 Day 3 206.0
1/5/14 Day 4 206.8
1/6/14 Day 5 208.1
1/7/14 Day 6 206.4
1/8/14 Day 7 206.3
1/9/14 Day 8 205.6
1/10/14 Day 9 206.4
1/15/14 212
1/16/14 206.6--craziness
1/17/14 205.6
1/18/14 203.6

Yep Jeaniem lets do it girl, I'm so on board with ya! Sorry your up a bit but it happens to all of us and it's not for lack of trying. Don't let it get ya down at all. You are doing absolutely great!

Sue stay strong I know where youre at. my husband can eat whatever he wants and not gain a pound. I have been doing the plan since the eigth of January and he knows I have been really focused. So what does he do, this morning he says come on babe I wanna go have breakfast at dennys we can have some waffles. I just stared at him and walked away! Then later he comes at me saying why are you upset? I said are you kidding me with this? I will not let you get me off track. I didn't have the energy to tell him all the reasons why......again......but he backed off. I will not let another person control what I put in my body. I am the one who knows how I feel and what I choose to look like. I think men sometimes have a hard time understanding. Especially the ones like my husband who have never had a weight problem. So stay strong girl. Look how far you have come. A 41 pound loss is nothing to shake a stick at....you r awesome and don't you forget it!

Well luckily for me I am staying on track so far and am down another pound today. So I am just trying to stay focused and do what I know is correct for me. It's been tough though. I had to clean out my fridge and freezer today and OMG the temptation is everywhere! That garlic bread sure looks yummy. But I think I'm gonna be ok. Cross your fingers for me ladies.

Remember WE CAN DO THIS!

Hugs,
Robin

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well!

Day 1..........177.4
Day 2..........176.0..........1.4 pounds lost
Day 3..........174.6..........2.8 pounds lost
Day 4..........173.6..........3.8 pounds lost

The appetite suppression is kicking in, the cravings are almost gone, and I'm hoping to stick with it this time. My goal is to get to 21 days. I'm trying really hard and fighting temptation. I'm rotating my foods so I don't get sick of them. We can do this!

jeaniem, so far it's really agreeing with me. The galettes have become a staple for me and I use the nonfat Greek yogurt a lot. Makes sticking with it easier long term. I lost 6 lbs the first week and second week nothing, even though on plan. I'm looking at fine tuning my food choices this week to keep the body letting go of those fat stores. Haha--have to convince it evidently because it's showing signs of wanting to hang on.

You are inspiring with the exercise. I'm not able to fit that in very easily right now, though. I have knee replacement surgery coming up next month. Congrats on all your success.

Sue

Robin, thanks so much for the encouraging words. Definitely can relate to the Denny's story. I have a similar response--like really? I hear you about having the energy to explain all over again. Maybe they'll learn You've got what it takes with the focus. All about the focus and not being swayed from our path!

Anonymousity, when the appetite suppression kicks in, it's a great thing. I'm relaxing more into letting that work for me in making lighter choices this week like fish and turkey instead of so much beef like I've been having. And also going with smaller portions. Good idea with rotating for variety. I think that is part of what makes this doable over a longer period of time. KUTGW!

Not only do I have to avoid off plan foods but what about avoiding a long island iced tea or too? Decisions.....Decisions.

Hi Kandi

A weekend getaway to the city sounds fun. I'm with you about the scale. I am usually a daily weigher but if I just can't deal with other than good news, I wait until my chances are better

I saw on the news yesterday about a storm coming in back east. Do you have shoveling to do where you live? Hope you don't have trouble getting to work.

It was very fun, however I am paying for it now, it seems without routine I fall off quite drastically at times,

Yes Lots of shoveling thank goodness my hubby done it for me

ugh feeling the bloat today , however i am gonna go back to my routine and hope for the best, i am really getting a bit fed up with myself, because i have been yo yo-ing since November and I know i will be miserable come spring if i dont stick to it now , so with that being said im not getin on the scale till 1-27, hope everyone is doin way better than me

Kandi, you can count on the protein to level you out and take the water weight back down. And quickly the protein starts suppressing appetite which helps with getting in control. I try to also do at least a little bit of reading each day to keep me motivated and focused.

Eating out is a challenge I'm working on right now also. I sort of make it a fun challenge for myself. There's almost always a tasty protein at most restaurants and I ask for things left off the plate that are not on plan. Part of the effort involves educating dh on what is and is not on my current plan and being firm about what I need for food.

The salt from restaurant food can cause water retention that masks the actual weight loss so hang in there and trust the process.

We can do this

Sue

Predictably, scale did a bounce up this am. That's always been the way--goes up before a whoosh, so it doesn't worry me. I've got a lot of trust in the process now at this point. If anything, I ate too little yesterday. My appetite is fully suppressed from the protein and my stomach has shrunk, so I fill up easily now. I'm liking these side effects from a protein diet!

Part of my learning curve is also that I didn't drink enuf water yesterday, so pushing it today to rehydrate.

Congrats to mariad on her results this am and I hope everyone else is doing well, also. We can do this
