I've finished my 30 day challenge. I did not gain over Christmas, in fact I lost 4.5 pounds. I am happy I did not pile those pounds on! I'm going to transition to a woe that includes vegetables so I'll bow out of this thread at least for now. I encourage everyone here to continue this challenge as long as you want!!

Ok, I've been on vacation with DH so starting stillmans at the beginning of this month has been impossible. So I'm starting today and hope to stay with you through the rest of this month and at least make it to 170.

<<<<<Has fallen off the wagon, got run over by it, and then got dragged along for several miles. I really don't know what it was yesterday, but I craved salt, out of all things SALT, me and salt don't get along well!!! I ate just about a whole jar of peanut butter, then I was so darn thirsty and drank a WHOLE 2 liter bottle of diet pepsi. I didn't dare to weigh this morning since I know that my body is holding the fluids.
Back on plan today, and hopefully by the end of this week the bloat is gone.

Smiles...You did great! I do understand the being burnt out though, good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Got a quick question for anyone who may be able to help. Has anyone experienced a feeling of, for lack of a better word, "euphoria" in the first week with this way of eating? Meaning, an almost foggy feeling but not dizzy. It's not constant it just comes and goes. I don't take any meds no do I do any drugs or alcohol so I'm just wondering if this is normal. If so, does it continue or will it eventually stop?
Anonymousity I wish you the best....you can do it!

charitysmom1029, Yes! I have done this WOE multiple times and the first week is awful. I experience complete drag and fog. The fog does come and go. I cant think clearly and my memory is terrible. But... It does go away! Most people say they get their energy spike and such after about 4 days but it takes me a week or so, if not longer. I have been back on plan since Jan 1st and I have just now, this week, gotten my energy back. I did add more calories, I average about 700-800 per day now. But on the downside of that I have only been losing .2 lbs per day. Its really hard to be happy about that but at least I am not gaining I suppose.

Oh by the way, I see your info says you eat vegan low-carb. How in the world do you do stillmans being vegan? My daughter is a vegetarian and I am just curious as to what you eat. If you can be vegan and make this work for you, thats awesome! Good luck on your journey!

Hi Stillmans peeps I'm peeking in here to see how everyone is doing. I'm doing the Dukan woe currently. Kinda lonely over there lately though (cue crickets) haha. I do pure protein days every other day, so some similarities to how you all are eating. I did Stillmans in the 70's once and dropped 25 lbs in less than a month. Was a lot younger then though

I'm having some of the same challenges I see talked about here--dh has intensified his saboteur behaviors as he's seen my recent success in dropping weight fast by doing low carb/low fat. Grrr. He doesn't do well with changes, and lord knows I've been thru the weight and food plans over the years

Anyway, hope its ok to stop in and visit now and then.

Sue

Hi llindsey26 thanx so much for the help and info. I am glad to see there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel as far as the "fog" goes. No No not vegan at all now. I did it for a spell but hate veggies. I have been vegan on and off a few times in the pat years and also did juicing for awhile. What made me lose a lot of weight primarily is the LC woe. I have been trying for 14 years or so, after my son was born to find the right eating path for myself. I agree with the vegan diet in many ways but I have to be realistic and accept that I need to be more concerned about my health as opposed to saving a cow I may potentially be part of eating......if that makes any sense? The reason I can't just do low carb is because I am truly a carb addict. Not so much sweets but starches. One serving is too many and a thousand isn't enuff. So like any addict I need to avoid it absolutely! What drew me to this woe is how simple it is.....I hate to cook and I have no problem eating the same meals everyday for long periods of time. I just wish it didn't take me so long to figure it out. I will be turning 40 on the 29th of this month and I have to really start focusing on getting healthy. I just had my 3rd grandchild and I need to be able to be a good example for them, as well as my kids who have weight issues. Sadly, this is happening at an alarming rate with these kids today.
I need to change my info as far as woe on my profile page it seems lol.
I wish you the very best of luck llindsey and thanks again

Does anyone exercise while doing this plan? If so, does it slow or enhance your weight loss?

Oh my goodness I have one more question. Has anyone one had any disturbances in their menstrual cycle with this WOE? I only ask because when I was low carbing I did have menstrual cycle disturbances. Sorry to ask such a personal question but I felt comfortable doing it here.

Thanx

Your welcome Robin, Charitysmom1029. Your decision as to why you switched makes absolute sense. I wont go into how I feel on treatment of animals, but sometimes you have to weigh the lesser of the two evils. Your health is more important because you wont be around to help those in need if it isnt.

As for TOM, I cant answer because I no longer have baby carrying material, but I can imagine it could impact it. Any kind of lifestyle changes can affect it really.

And as for exercise, I do not. I am honest with myself and I hate having to exercise. Honestly, I seriously dislike having to stick to a regimen of any kind. I know once I do it, I enjoy it, but I cant motivate myself to get up and do it everyday. I made the decision a long time ago that I would rather have to sacrifice food instead of energy.

Well I'm holding strong and down another pound today. Started my time of the month and feel like crap....ugh. Oddly enough I have no cravings as I usually do at my TOM. This is also the fist day where I have absolutely no appetite either. The one thing I noticed about low carb is I still had an appetite and cravings.....I like this much better! Does it always stay this way or will my appetite return eventually?

llindsey-I hear ya about the exercise issue. It is really hard but I'm gonna try really hard to get my big butt doing something, even if it's just walking. I want to be able to tone as I lose. After 4 kids I def need some toning lol.
I hope everyone is doing well and I wish everyone peace and stamina with their weight loss

Hi mariad- glad to see your post today. Congrats on losing that kilo! It's always such a nice thing to see that scale move down that's for sure.
I'm on board today...
got weak last night and ate a piece of garlic bread and a hot dog. The scale showed it this morning....ugh
Went from 161 yesterday to 162 today. How can less than a pound of food make me gain a pound? I just don't get it.
Well needless to say, I'm back on the wagon and gonna try for today. It's one day at a time I guess.
Hope everyone else is doing well and I'm rootin for ya
May peace and joy be with each and everyone of you

Ya know the funny thing is.....Even though scale says I gained a pound my ketostix are still showing pink today. Not burgundy ......as I would like but showing still moderate levels of ketones. Doe this mean I can indulge once a week a bit and be ok? Does it actually help to "trick" the metabolism one day a week to keep my body out of starvation mode? Think I may have read that somewhere once....hmmmmm not sure? Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Also....is anyone else here using ketostix? Would love to here any of your thoughts on them?

Thanx All!

Take Care

Ok, DH official day back to work is the 16th, I thought I could be good for just a few days at the end of his vacation. Think Again Nope, not good at all. So I'm starting fresh today! Well the 17th would be better.

My personal goal is just 15 days of solid, be good Stillmans. Then I'm gonna add some low carb veggies for a couple of weeks, then I'll be back for more strict Stillmans.

Welcome all new folks

I think a rotation of Stillmans and other diets should take this fat off in 2014.

2014, I'm gonna be lean!

Hi jeaniem,

Well for me I am not sure what the plan is called but I am eating the exact same thing everyday. I have been on this roller coaster long enuff (highest weight 226) to know, I think what works for me. Our stats are almost the same. It's nice to see someone on here close to my height and weight. Of course you are thinner than me now.....Great job girl!!!

24 oz black coffee
3 bullion cubes (chicken)
24 oz green or peppermint tea
6 pieces jennie-o turkey bacon
4 tbs mayo
1 can of tuna
1 lg boiled egg

Calories=804

Fat=61gr
Protein=38gr
Sodium=3,200mg
--------------------------------
So as one can see, it is calorie restricted but I don't feel the need to eat more than this as I am not hungry. I do take a pretty dense powder multivitamin and also biotin,vit d,fish oil,vit c,calcium and a b-12 supplement.
I lose a pound a day easily and my ketostix show dark purple daily. I have been doing this since the 8th of January pretty much (a cheat once and a few tweaks) but this is what I've done the last week and I feel wonderful and have basically no apetite. I know some on here will say oh no, not enuff of this and that, but it is working for me.

Hope all of you are doing well and I wish you much success.
Take Care,
Robin

Jeaniem- I like how you say that your body will let you know our goal. For some reason I am stuck on a number but maybe I should rethink that? I think I felt my best when I was about 120.
