I took a short break from Stillmans Tuesday and Wednesday. Not sure if I should start over at Day 1 or just keep going? I'm going to just keep going.

While I did eat some pretty carby chocolate goodness, I did restrict myself to a 4 or 5 hour window earlier in the day (like noon to 4). I indulged but did what I could to prevent it from becoming a "binge".

Everyone is doing great!!! It's very motivating to see everyone's successes and even if we "fall off", just get right back on!

VERY TRUE , because thats usually my big mistake, i will tell myself i will just go off for the day then end up binging like crazy for days till i feel uncomfortable and start over, but being on here motivates me to get back on so congrats to u

Don't let it get you down. It could be something as simple as more salt intake or normal body fluctuations. You are doing great.

This is why I have changed to weekly weigh ins. The day to day was just to hard on me if I only .2 or nothing. It almost always led to me going off plan.

Hello everyone!

Well I was up almost a pound this morning. I had so much stress at work yesterday that I was up most of the night, too upset to sleep so I tried to "medicate" with some milk. Now I came home to my honey making dinner, grilled pork loin...wonderful! BUT he also made a huge batch of those fluffy bisquits. I absolutely LOVE those things and rather eat 5 of them than anything else in the world, he knows that, so I smell SABOTAGE!!!

Thanks for all the encouragement. I feel better (other than this lack of caffeine headache I'm sporting).

I cheated a tiny bit today. I had tuna for dinner and added a tablespoon of mayo to it. It hope I don't pay for that

Should be fine. I do that on the days I am struggling. Higher fat helps me get through sometimes. It is better than a carb bath.

Hi there honies,well weighed this morning and a tad lossed down to 75.1 kilos,approx 165.5,thought id not lost anything as medication for this bug is full of sugar as i can taste the sweetness,but,in slight ketosis,so,not too bad i suppose after just a few days,cant wait to finish my meds then really go for it,i took some alli tablets to counteract the sugar in the meds and they seem to do the trick. I agree with Ashley about daily weighing--i.e., I've never been able to handle it. All those normal fluctuations are deceiving and rarely correlate to our efforts. The problem for me is that no loss (or a slight gain) would impel me to overeat.

Even with weighing weekly (as I did throughout my weight loss and now in maintenance), it's only checking my 'trend' over a month or 6 weeks that I get a sense of what's really going on. For example, a few months ago, I got depressed that I was 2 lbs above my ideal weight--even though I give myself a 3-4 lbs 'range.' However, when I checked my calendar, I saw that I'd been maintaining within 2 lbs for several months. That encouraged me to stick with my specific eating plan.

For those of you able to weigh daily and not be discouraged (or tempted to go off plan), that's good, but I just can't do it.

Not sure what caused the bounce. Will do my best to stay on plan today. There will be lots of temptation all around so we will see. Not going to stress about it.

At least the bounce up still has me under 170. That's a pretty cool victory.

Happy Friday everyone! Stay strong and determined. Food only has power if you give it power. So this weekend I'd like to keep that in mind and try not to binge or stress about food.

Whoop,whoop,just got to post again as im happy,i didnt take any throat lozengers this morning just antibiotics,and have just used a ketostix,yesterday was in the pink,and just now very deep purple,it changed straigt away,so happy happy happy Lol xxxx

Ugh cant win for losing <~~~haha no pun intended, my scale done went up again and i been on plan to a T , but then i get to work and yep got my period so at least i know it wasnt somethin i ate cuz i havent eaten anythng i wasnt suppose to lol, oh well happy weekend hope all maintain at the very least. will probably stop the daily weigh ins after today and go once a week. as much as they encourage they also can dissapoint.

Changing my weigh in day to Fridays. Down 2 pounds since Wednesday. My hormones are starting to act up so I think about foods I can't have. I am determined to stay on no matter what. I mean business this time. I have been bouncing the same 20 pounds for too dang long.

I didn't get a chance to weigh in yesterday, and today I am still at the same weight as on Thursday. It's all good though, not going to let it frustrate me, NOT THIS TIME!!! Will keep trucking

So glad to see all of you here. I have searched endlessly it seems to find out info about this woe. Finally I came across this thread on this site. I have been doing an all fatty meat and eggs plan for 4 days. My ketostix say I have been in ketosis for 2 days so far...yay! I am not new to LCing as I have managed to lose 80 pounds with that woe. However I hate to cook,hate veggies and love meat. After a lot of research I found that others can eat an all meat diet and not drop dead lol. I also do take many vitamins to help supplement the lack of vitamins I am not getting because of the lack of other foods in my diet. So where I am now is.....wanting to switch to a completely zero carb....except for black coffee...strictly lean meat turkey,chicken etc; diet. I don't care for eggs and find it difficult to eat them.
I have a few questions though if anyone here can help.
1. Is anyone exercising while doing their plan?
2. The rate of weight loss on a strictly lean meat diet
3. how many grams of fat do I absolutely have to have to sustain life on this plan
4.How long can I feasibly do this plan....as I need to lose roughly 50 pounds

If anyone has any advice or tips I would greatly appreciate it.

Robin - I can't answer all your questions but maybe someone else here can fill in the blanks!

Let's see...rate of loss..that is very individual, depending on how much you eat and your metabolism. Dr. Stillman did say you can lose 5-10% of your body weight in one week. I've never experienced that kind of loss, but others have.

He had people on his Quick Weight Loss diet for months sometimes until they were at goal. He said to take a multivitamin daily, but didn't specify anything on number of fat grams a day. He did say to trim all visible fat from meat, but did allow whole eggs which contain a good bit of fat...so this is not a fat-free WOE. Most important was to drink 8 glasses of water a day.
