Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! So far, I'm loving it! The choices are so limited, but it takes the guesswork out of it which is a big welcome. And I think the fact that I've been weaning myself to low carbs has helped me the first couple of days! Everyone keep up the good work! I'm super happy that I joined this forum! Such an awesome way to stay motivated and meet like-minded folks!!

I think Stillman's works best for people (like me) who really like lean proteins.

And even when I'm not following Stillman's and eating my generic low carb (20g daily or fewer), I tend to eat the same foods over and over.

I do this naturally, but I read once that it's helpful for weight loss to limit food choices.

In any case, Stillman's seems to 'fit' me well, and IMO everyone who is concerned with weight management needs to find a plan that's the best 'fit.'

When people just focus on quick weight loss and 'white knuckle' their way to loss, it's the recipe for quick re-gain as well. Any weight-loss plan should be something a person can live with long term.

I've been maintaining over 3 years, and I eat now very much as I did to lose. One thing I discovered at my current weight is that I can't eat much differently if I want to stay at this weight

Off my soap box for now; sorry if this post became a 'lecture.'

Thanks, Leo. You're so right that you can't eat much different to maintain!

Erika - How wonderful you managed to stay on plan all weekend. That's not so easy to do! Your numbers show it too.

I stayed on plan on Monday. I ate eggs and homemade soup. Today am making chicken breast. I hope everyone has a good successful Stillman day!

Thanks everyone! Making it through a whole weekend really means a great deal to me. I developed a serious binge problem while JUDDDing, and have not been able to control that in over a year! Gained back 30 of the 95 pounds I have lost last year, and was horrified of gaining even more, because my appetite was uncontrollable. This was the first time that I made it through both days without snacking myself silly all day, and it really feels good

Hello to EVERYONE else, keep up the fantastic work!!!
Thanks thanks thanks! I think most of mine is water weight at this point, but I am happy nonetheless.

Question: does anyone else, when starting this, have to go to the bathroom to pee a lot? It's non-stop!

Another Question: it's recommended to eat six small meals per day. I am just really not all that hungry... do you ever feel like this and if so, do you force the 6 meals?

Thanks in advance!

Jscottey, no thanks needed, you are doing fantastic! I am a potty runner too, I'd say I probably go every 30-45 minutes
To the six meals...no I don't eat 6 times a day, I eat breakfast, lunch, and a snack at work, then dinner and MAY BE a snack at home. I am not going to force myself to eat if not hungry, BUT I'm also trying not to eat too little because I know that only will backfire, I have learned that the hard way...

Cravings

So far, I've been doing pretty well with cravings, but tonight has been awful. I haven't indulged. In fact I made a yummy turkey meatloaf (sans breadcrumbs or veggies).

I want chocolate milk of all things.

I don't want to mess things up. Hopefully when I fall asleep tonight, the cravings will subside.

How do you deal with yours?

Thanks,
Jessica

Jessica-
Since I live alone, except for breakfast (I'm always hungry in the morning), I don't eat 'meals,' but I eat whenever I'm hungry. However, I have a daily caloric limit that I stick to.

As far as 'cravings' go, the only way I've found to deal with them is to ignore them. Keep in mind that if you're not hungry, this is just your 'mind' wanting the food, so distracting yourself works for me. It has to be something active--like washing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning--even taking a shower. A technique I learned a while back is to 'promise' yourself that you'll have whatever you're craving 'tomorrow.' By the next day, you'll find that you're not craving it at all.

Hello Larcana and mariad! Good to see you!

Hey awesome job Smiles, Jscottay, Kandi, Erika!!! You guys rock!
Anonymouslty - Don't sweat it and don't beat yourself up! The only ones who fail are those who give up after a slip. As long as you keep on getting up again, you're a winner. Right now I've gotten up about a million times! We all know this is hard. Let's just keep on trying.

So I'm keeping on trying. Yummy eggs for breakfast today.

Thanks for the advice! I'm still working on the mind aspect. I'm seeing the results and loving it but my mind still wanders some but I didn't indulge and I'm sort of proud that I didn't. Kind of a big step for me.
