Sparkling water

I'm new...Would sparkling water count as my water intake? The only ingredient is carbonated water.

people are way too strict on this point. of course it does.

all that stuff about tea not counting and all is fairly silly. the amount of suspended solids vs. water is pretty tiny.

Thank you so much! I figured it did!

I completely agree. Fluid is fluid! Trust me, my bladder can tell you it sees no difference between the two! ;)

Yes but sometimes certain fluids can dehydrate you but I don't think sparkling water is one of them. Tea and coffee might be because they have a diuretic effect. This is what I've heard but I'm sure there's a nurse here that might care to comment! I'm bad about my water intake.

I LOVE sparkling water....long long ago it became my coke and soda substitute. I bought one of those Soda Stream machines and fizz my own water. It feels expensive when you buy it, but I was buying a lot of Perrier at $1.75+ a bottle, and the soda stream cost lowered things to about 24 cents a bottle. I'm willing to pay this. After fizzing, sometimes I put lime or lemon in the water for some flavor.

Tea is actually a diuretic and it affects me negatively. In the summertime when I'm active outside I have to give up tea or else it adds to the likelihood of becoming dehydrated.

Sparkling water is fine. Just don't OVER carbonate with the soda stream. The results can be painful!
