We are definitely in ketosis. Yay! I am not even remotely hungry. I am forcing myself to eat three times a day. Loving that.

So today is our official one week weigh in. No loss today, but I am down 6.2 lbs and hubby 9.2 lbs for the week. My month total of weight loss is 14.6 lbs. Can't argue with that!

Today is food prep day for me. I will do that after lunch sometime. I hope you all had a good weekend and are ready to face Monday.

A stall or slight gain is very normal for me during TOM. I hope it passes quickly and you feel better soon!

Definitely normal. I usually gain 5 lbs in the week leading up to my tom, and I don't lose it until after it ends, so I usually go 2 weeks without a loss

It's stuff like that which makes it more difficult for women to lose weight steadily.

Can I?

I know I am a little late but I would love to join this group. I am new to Stillman's DWL. I am learning but I plan to get started tomorrow. I would like to lose a few pounds before the hubby returns from Afghanistan. So all the advice you can give would be wonderful.. I work out 6 days a week 3 days strength the others cardio and my scale has not moved in months. Granted my eating habits aren't always the greatest but for the most part I have been pretty good with eating and nothing. So I want to give this a shot. I am great with following meal plans are there any that you suggest

Dr.Stillman's ~Quick Weight Loss Diet

There's a link for the quick weight loss program Stillman recommends. Basically, it's all lean proteins; no fat or carbs.

I think that's the fastest way to lose the weight, but it can be very difficult to keep at it. Personally I am eating all kinds of protein now that I'm just starting out. Maybe in a week or so I'll feel encouraged enough to only stick to eggs, chicken, and other lean proteins.

Finally.... here it is October and I am down in onederland again! WooHoo! Down 13# last month... not too bad... Now if I can just do that EVERY month, I'll be okay.

I just looked up what a "healthy" weight is for me. Chart says 148. Ok. I've got a lot of work to do. I haven't been below the 170s in the past 20 years so I don't know what it would feel like below that... except GOOD!!

My goal is to make it to that weight by next June. I will need lots of warm fuzzy encouragements to get there and not give up and start yoyoing again. Do I have any yoyo folks out there??? It's been the story of my whole life!

Last holiday season I totally deprived myself of any goodies. I didn't bake. I didn't make my once a year homemade caramels. I'm not doing that again. Ridiculous to give up your life for dieting. Moderation is MUCH better!!!!

Plus, I am facing some very severe health issues right now and seeing specialists. GRRRR. I think it's all this new doctor thing. I am not liking it one bit. Can't trust them most of the time IMHO. Naturopaths seem to be much better.

This month I had lost 11.2 the two weeks of dieting. The next week TOM started on Friday, by Monday I was up 3 lbs. The next week I lost that plus another 3+. So net loss for the month was 14.6 lbs. Does that make sense? Let me list it. That will be clearer.

Sept 08 - 280.6
Sept 17 - 273.8 (-6.8)
Sept 22 -269.4 (-4.4)
(my period fell Sept 27-31 or so)
Sept 30 - 272.2 (+2.8)
Oct 07- 266.0 (-2.8 plus another 3.4)

Yes. I take prilosec and it is helping. I think mine is worse on the days I eat red meat, but I am not sure just yet.

I'll look into purchasing that. The heartburn is killing me

---

I just weighed myself. 189lbs. Oddly enough, I'm not even that freaked out about it, even though I've gained 30lbs in just a few months.

I think I needed to see the numbers in front of me to serve as proof of what binge eating has done to me - hopefully it's going to keep me from doing it again.

I'm almost back to square one - I was 189lbs 3 years ago. Oh well. I'll work my butt off to lose it, and I'm going to keep it down

no I get awful heartburn when I ingest sugar or carbs. Especially sugar, it's my hidden sugar detector.

You guys are still adjusting. Wait a few months for your paleo to find itself.

On a lighter note, what to do with a load of chicken legs, suggestions please?

Marinate them in onion, fresh tomatoes and thyme (dried works best for this). Salt and pepper also. Fry chicken at high heat, turning constantly. When chicken is very brown add the onions and tomatoes, cover and simmer, making sure it does not get dry. You can add a little water or stock. You can leave out the gravy when you eat it if you don't want to consume the tomatoes and onions.

What! What!

Down 2.2lbs!! I am too excited about that. Yesterday wasn't technically a full Stillman's as I has some coleslaw that I wanted to finish so i ate it directly after my morning run, but the rest of the day was eggs and chicken and a little turkey. So today is my first full day and surprisingly I have not been hungry at all.

I do have a question are the ketosis sticks suppose to be really dark or does the light color count. I only test first thing in the morning...

I am following Stillman's but not caring for it this week. I did a bunch of prep the other day so I have plenty of foods ready and with easy access. I am having some health issues, unrelated to diet, and my brain wants things that are so not on plan. It is all psychological. I have no plan to eat off plan, but I admit the urge is strong.

Anyway, not trying to be a downer. I was down 0.4 this morning.

I had never heard of Stillman's until today when I was googling about Atkins - which I started Monday. I'm going grocery shopping tonight and changing my game plan!

I love reading about people's experiences on here... And I love the idea of being able to switch back to Atkins when/if Stillman's gets too much to bear...

Good luck to us all!!!

Well done!

I'm not an expert on ketosis sticks (I've never used them), but from what I've heard from other people, any color is good. Even if it's really light, you're still in ketosis.

So I'm down to 186 from 189lbs two days ago. I'll take it!

What I love about Stillmans is that you usually see the same loss overnight as it'd take you a week to accomplish with "normal" calorie counting. I need fast results, and this WOE is giving me just that.

My next goal is 176lbs, I sooo hope I can make it by the end of the month

And I'm in ketosis now - my breath is really yucky and everything tastes horrible

CCGirl, congrats on the not smoking. That is a huge accomplishment.

I am down 0.8 today. I have three meals out today. I am nervous how that will affect the scale. I will certainly do my best but I might just avoid the scale until my weekly weigh in on Monday. Well, off to the breakfast meeting! Wish me luck.

CCGirl, great job on your accomplishment of not smoking. I applaud your strength and dedication of attacking two issues at once. I wish you much continued success!!

I have been trying to adjust to Stillmans and currently found peace with the liquid diet combination he discusses in his book. I drink to liquid protein meal replacement shakes a day and eat chicken breast or seafood for a third meal. If I feel hungry I will do another shake or another meat meal. I plan to stick with this particular meal plan for the next two weeks. Then I will go on to Stillmans QWL plan...the original. As of today my weight is 185 lbs. I have lost a total of 13lbs so far. I hope to see at least 175 by the end of October.

Happy continuous releasing everyone!!
