Here we go

Hi all
Just finished a 30 minute walk. Today I start. We had a lot of fun this summer and I am thankful for it all.
Ready to get going however and lose some weight.Like I mentioned, I am not a scale watcher. I have some goal jeans to get into and hope to average 15 off before Thanksgiving.

krissakris,
adorable! I love the color of your fur baby

Wish2BThinner,
Same here. It will be Atkins. Easiest!

Talk to you all later

I feel like I am jumping the juddd ship, but I need a weight loss boost. I'd like to start Stillmans tomorrow. I usually do more research of a WOE before coming out of lurkdum, but I am going to save my energy for the QWL.
I'll do flounder, tuna, scallops, shrimp, LF cottage cheese, eggs/whites, coffee, tea, water. I read a sticky that said one veg per meal is ok , so it will be lettuce or spinach. I'll use balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, a splash of milk w tea.
Did I read you could have salmon? Salmon patties are my fav.
I'll continue to read up along the way, but is there a recommended ratio of protein/fat/carb?

If you mean canned or pouched salmon, I think that would've be fine! Not sure about ideal ratios. As long as you are eating mainly low fat protein you should be good !

I'm not an expert on Stillmans but I know it works best for me when I stick to lean chicken/turkey and eggs - boring I know but it works.
I avoid all veggies - I think it's doable because the QWL is short term.

The only thing I would say is avoid the balsamic vinegar as it contains sugar so has carbs - unless u have a special kind (I'm in the UK and ours all contain sugar.

Good luck

I appreciate your input. I'll keep reading up. I will use apple cider vinegar and skip the begs for the QWL. Thanks!

today was encouraging. I did start yesterday on the 1st and can register a three pound loss for today. I was creeping back up there in my weight and am so glad to be with you all in September to knock off as many pounds as we can....

I had my "last meal," so to speak. Tomorrow, it is on!
I made oopsie rolls, for the first time. That should make things interesting.
My plan is to keep it around 900 cals. I'll have tuna, egg whites, cottage cheese & shrimp.
I will attempt to make Stillman's approved ketchup, too. I don't know if I can enjoy plain egg whites without veggies, salsa or chipotle mayo. Lol!
I'd appreciate any tips.
Thanks!

The eggs are boiled, the chicken is in tupperware, and the protein shake (not sure if protocol) is ready. I am ready for this. I have no idea what I weigh today but will post tomorrow. Good luck all. I never last past 17 days on anything except quitting smoking. My bday is 6 weeks from here and hoping for a 20 lb loss and 40 by thanksgiving....go team.

Four turkey burgers in my purse to last me through the day. I didn't have time for my eggs this morning but I'm glad to be back on track. 15 more weeks in the year-it's not too late to accomplish goals you set in January

Here we go!

Just focus on today! Sounds like everyone so far has planned it out.
I made home made chicken broth yesterday, defrosted chicken to cook today and I will boil eggs this AM.

Woke up early, before kiddo gets up. Got my walk on. We home school and our day starts early so off I go.

Oh! I also started an excel spreadsheet to monitor my day to day.

My first mini goal: to succeed 1 week with little to no deviation.

It looks like I'll end the day at 1000 cals, 60/35/5. I was working with what I had in my kitchen so I wound up having a lot of about 3 cups of cottage cheese. I eat limited sources of protein, seafood/dairy. I think all the sodium has given me a headache. I'll pull back on that tomorrow.

I mix cottage cheese with splenda and cinnamon and eat as is

or a sf toriani syrup and blend it and it takes kinda like a cheesecake pudding

I have also made cottage cheese ice cream by blending it with whatever and freezing it!

Just because I don't like being dependent on it or getting headaches when I don't have it plus is nice to save the minimum $2 day buying it

Good to see you! Hope you get to feeling better soon. Nothing worse than a summer cold. I definitely do not want one that lasts 8 weeks.

Well I did OK today then I got a massive headache that I could not get rid of. I ate a small bowl of turkey chilli to just get a few carbs in. Tomorrow I should be able to be strictly clean Stillman. Day one is always rough for me. Good thing is I did not feel hungry or have craving. Just the dang headache.

Hope everyone else had a great day!

Good morning,

May I join you? I've been lurking on lowcarbfriends.com for years but have never posted. I used low carb to lose the weight after both of my children were born. My girls are now 12 and 9. I'm now officially over the weight I was when I delivered both and really need a support group to help take this weight off. I started yesterday at 199.8 and this morning weighed 195.2. I know those four plus pounds lost was water weight but I'm ready to start seeing the scale go down, down, down.

Thanks,
Loretta

Weight:
Day 1: 199.8
Day 2: 195.2

Day 2! So far so good. Had 2 eggs for breakfast and will have ground turkey for lunch and dinner. Hopefully my headache won't come back today. I woke up at 2am with my carb withdrawl headache still going strong. No bueno! At least I know I will feel better within the next day or two at the most. Then it is all easy going.

welcome new folks!

fivenine, I do Splenda in greek yogurt with lemon or orange extract, or lime juice for key lime pie flavor, it's yummly!
