great job everybody I want to climb on that scale so bad but its only been one day so I'm scared. well I went to the grocery store bought some skinless chicken tenderloins and extra lean beef and I'm doing them on the grill right now that's my preferred way of cooking meat. you all motivate me so much to keep doing this even though today has been rather hard for me. how long did the cravings last? I love reading everything that's listed here. is there a book out I can buy that just feels with this method of low carb low fat low calorie?

You can get "The Doctor's Quick Weight Loss Diet" by Stillman and Baker online where you usually buy books. It's an old book but copies are available.

Hi TrishaLynn, don't stress on the scale thing. Once a week is more than enough. If you prefer, try every two days. Weight fluctuates any way during the day from a pound or so. I love grilling too. Cravings come and go, mostly from things you see or smell or something that makes you thing of a craving. They go away soon enough, think of others things, even the grilling. The first part of this forum tells about Stillman's. It's a bit like the Meat and Egg Fast, but more restrictive. I do my own version of LC, with Stillman's, Atkins, and LC in mind. You just need to find what works for you. It will happen. Take care and good luck on the WOE. Mae

I want to get to a place where maintainance is doable by having a few treats over weekends or holidays is ok and then if there is a gain jump back on Stills to take care of it. I did something like that for several years but have had health issues this past year that messed with me. All the diets I have tried in the past year have taught me that my body likes simple. When Idiglossics says she is a hunter gatherer but shouldn't gather much. That seems to be me. Tried the high fat plan and just feli sick and gained. Tried Paleo which makes a lot of sense but even eating clean mostly veg, meats and fats didn't make the old bod very happy. Have great hopes for Stills.

Have a great day everyone.
Great for the weight loss. Every bit helps, glad you are happy with it. Simple is the best, most the time, isn't it? Proud of you. You'll do great. Mae

Mary, that's a good weight loss, truly. A little BBQ sauce can't hurt occasionally. One of my weaknesses. lol. I like to be careful of the sodium too, other wise too much makes may ankles swell. Take care. Mae

Trisha, if I didn't say it before. We're a good group. I post here and in Other Plans, like M/E (similar to Stillman's, but not as strict). We all tweak it for our needs, making it our own LC woes. Good luck to you. Mae

Thanks Mae! Well today is my third day eating Stillman's.. so I decided to do what you said and weigh every two days so... I got on the scale this morning close my eyes and when I looked I had to get off and on a few times to make sure the scale was correct. 264.4!!!! Isn't that crazy. I know most of it is water weight because I've spent majority of my time in the bathroom. But those numbers really do encourage me to keep going. I downloaded a fitness app to be able to log all my food-with just scanning labels. I'm going to jump on my street Strider for a little bit when my husband gets home from work and see how that works out for me. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

My Stillmans is tweaked up a bit, but I'm still losing a pound a day. I will modify if it slows down.

do you know how long the flush last? haven't seen any post on just how long it last. Mine is probably higher because the amount of weight on me compared. I did do a ketone test today and showed up with trace amounts so I know its not fat yet. Going to work out today just to try to get that process along a little bit faster.

from what I understand that water we all have can vary from day to day. So initially you can just flush it out at about 4 to 6 pounds. Thus your 9 pounder was a biggy. Then even as we are weighing on a daily basis it can creep onto us and make us discouraged by seeing the scale take a 5 pound leap up. But not to be dismayed, it will go away. Salt can really make water retain, so try not to overdo there. I love salty stuff though

thank you so much for answering my questions I'm still learning, if I ask too many just let me know. I can get quite obsessed when trying to reach a goal. I love salt on everything!! the last few days I haven't used any salt. That has been hard. I started weights and cardio again and I'm continuing the supplements I've been taking and a multi vitamin.

TrishaLynn You are on the train, 9 lbs Stillman's is called Quick Weight Loss for a reason, because it is. Just settle into your lean meat, fish and poultry and eggs, and you will be a skinny girl by Christmas. Weigh when ever you like. Me I weigh everyday and when the scale stayed at 157 for days. . . but I kept do Stillman's EXACTLY and at last the scale moved down.

Kiley, I eat baked chicken and allow one bite of skin, I bake a whole chicken and it lasts me a couple of days. I eat sirloin steak and fish. I have not fancied eggs this time tho. I also use 5 hour energy which really works. I plan my food first thing in the morning, so it is there when I get hungry.

So I am staying on here and Stillman's for now. We can do this I want to get to 147 by the end of the month. . . Oh and my tight clothes are getting big, I probably will need thow them away soon and buy smaller

I would suggest thin commandments diet or shrink yourself if you struggle w emotional eating. They're not diet books but help with strategies to keep cravings and stuff away by getting to the root of it. I've been having the same issues and it's helping put things into perspective so I can stick w the diet and continue success. I hth

Way to go! And your menu sounds really good! So you eat all the parts of the chicken... Thighs, legs, breasts, etc?

Great job!!! My first small goal is 3 weeks strict Still's.then start another 3 weeks. If I set longer it over loads me on emotions...."I'll never reach 6 months"..and so forth.
I've noticed the cravings actually stopped yesterday. the only time I felt like I wanted a carb food was when I was making pizza subs for the kids and my husband gave them Doritos with it. Of course I smell inside the bag they smell delicious but I thought if I even eat one its going to throw my ketones off. I'm really enjoying that part of this way of eating. I know I'll have to start over! and quite frankly I don't want to do that. I'm past the headaches the hunger pains so its not worth it. now but one question I do have if I track all the food I eat and I'm only consume in between 550 and 700 calories a day how bad is that? I'm only eating when I'm hungry. I even made deviled eggs with cottage cheese and mustard. now they are not my normal deviled eggs with bacon and cheese and mayonnaise and mustard but they work.

I did get on the scale this morning just to see. 261.6 that's 2.8 from yesterday and 11.4 since the 15th. I'm amazed! I am in a wedding party for my best friend Gary on sept 6th. So this is a wonderful thing . I don't feel deprived anymore with food and its only my 4th day sometimes I have to force myself to eat hence the reason I made the deviled eggs. just wondering what your thoughts were. All input is greatly appreciated even though I know everybody's body is different it helps to get others insight.

I'm trying to follow the plan as strictly as possible I found out with previous dieting if I deviate just a little bit I
to keep doing it more more. kinda like just giving me enough rope to hang myself I worked over hundred hours last week so that helped keep me busy and then when I come home I have 4 little ones ages 1 3 5 9. tonight I go in at 6 p.m. And then I get off at 930 tomorrow morning. I have 29 hours the next two days and then I have 3 12 hour shifts I usually work night time hours so they're up all day with me. the positive side of that is they keep me moving moving moving. Now I do get paid sleep hours at work- when my individuals will cooperate lol.

now I have suffered from emotional eating hence the reason I got this big plus I'm a really good cook. but I have to start looking at this as my life instead of just emotional eating I want to be able to play with my kids the way they need me too. Not be winded or to tired. This will be hard but this time I'm also doing it for me the honeymoon phase will soon pass and that's when it'll become difficult for me. Have a wonderful low carb day!!! We can do this! One day at a time :-)

I love reading everything that's listed here. is there a book out I can buy that just feels with this method of low carb low fat low calorie?
My cravings were gone within a week. I'm simply AMAZED! Its more than just appetite suppression. I am a huge bread/potatoes/baked goods lover, and I'm not tempted at all. I can easily pass up these things.

I get sick of lean protein (I think its inevitable at some point!), but never am I tempted to go eat something off plan. I know just a little bit will bring on an avalanche of cravings, and I don't want that.

Good luck!

ETA...

Im going to try making deviled eggs with cottage cheese. I hope they turn out well!

I'm just like you I go right for the high carb foods I enjoy sweets and chips and bread is my favorite. I'm on day 4 and the cravings for sweets or even bread has stopped. this is so amazing to me and I just wonder why it's took me so long to find it. my husband actually got into the deviled eggs today and said that they were okay the paprika really helps that's one thing that I hope is on the approved list. I also put it in a blender to help withsmoothing it.

oh here's a trick for anyone doing hard boiled eggs. I normally make a dozen to two dozen at a time because of my family size. that's good even if you're doing 6 of them. after you're done boiling let them cool about an hour. place them back in the pan that has a lid( without water). put the lid back on and shake them back and forth like you would popping popcorn on top of the stove top. most of the shells will fall off some just peel off easily when you move your fingers across. this method will save you so much time!

12 lb's is fantastic, I have also been logging in every day to check your progress - well done!!!

Great going everyone else - you are getting some excellent results!!

I have been very inconsistent with my eating these last few days - lucky I haven't gained any so still maintaining a 10lb loss. I am going to carry on until I go away on Thursday and then I am back to strict Stillmans when I get back on Tuesday to hopefully lose the last few pounds.
