Hi everyone. Hope you all are doing well. I've been away for a few weeks. So much going on at home and with me. Also Hubby has been on vacation. He went back to work today. My weight has been going up and down about 3 lbs the last few weeks since my last visit here. Trying to get back on the low carb wagon now. :-)

I would love to join your group! I have done low carb for awhile, BUT the last few months I have not done well at all....will stay on plan then I slip and then I slide all the way down the hill!!!!
I tried JUDDD but I found myself binging on up days so that didn't work. I think maybe I need something simple and strict to kick my rear into gear.
One major motivation is a cruise coming up in about 6 1/2 weeks. The thought of putting a swimsuit on (in public) makes me cringe.
Look forward to getting to know all of you!

Not a silly question. I eat them, because of salt, not a lot at one sitting of course, lol. I also post to the Meat and Egg thread in other plans. Just posted some recipes and menu ideas. Works for Stillman's, Atkins or other LC styles too, just tweak for your needs. Take care and YW. Mae
Here's the link, last page.
Just Doing it in July, M/E!

PS, cute son you have there! He favors you a lot. Sigh, mine are all grow'd up.

Good morning!!
So this is officially day 1...I think my brain and body are rebelling because I got up in the middle of the night and ate cookies! I NEED to get the carbs out of my system asap. I figure if I can white knuckle it until day 3-4 I will be able to do this.
Hope you all have a great day!

PS- thanks Mae...he is my only child and I waited until I was 36 to have him! He is the best thing I have ever done

My iPhone continues to eat my messages. I left a long MSG yesterday that disappeared. Grr. Day 2 of Dukan attack has been a breeze! I even made it back to the gym today yay. I'm officially in a size 10 dress-down 3 sizes since January.

OK...so I got some major motivation to do this tonight. My son and I were in the kitchen making play dough and my husband was videotaping us with his phone (without my consent btw) and when he showed it to me I thought "who is that fat woman"....holy mother!!!
Needless to say I drank my water and will not be eating off plan!
Day one has been a success.

Hi Deborah!

Way to go Kriss! And down THREE dress sizes since January? You rock! And inspire me.

Can anyone recommend jeans that come in size 18, are curvy, and sit below the belly button? And hopefully not so long one has to wear heals with them, because that's not happening.

GOOD MORNING!

Hi Pleth...nice to meet ya!

Day 2 starting out good...I baked 2 eggs with some fat free cottage cheese and herbs. Pretty tasty.

Sorry pleth can't help with the jeans. I could use some advice myself. I seem to carry so much weight around my midsection (very unhealthy!) so I have an extremely hard time finding jeans. I also have that "fat apron" thing going on and I really hope I won't have it forever.

I feel really motivated today. The temps have gone down so I may try to take a long walk today.

have a great day!

Hi CCG! Thanks. Hope you enjoyed the reruns.
So proud of everyone here. And we're so supportive of each other.
Despite, lol, the enjoyable slightly overeating and carbing on my
birthday, I lost 3.6 pounds. So counting it towards the 10 lb goal
I want to get down to by the 31st of July. Part of my self-10 week
challenge program. I'm at 240 now and haven't been there in too many
years. I'm strickly MEing this week, lean meats, eggs, tea, very easy
condiments, spices. That's it, but so many good ways to fix them.
Anyways, not at home right now, so will check in later today or tomorrow.
Happy LCing and meow . Mae

Levi''s makes some nice stretch jeans for curves-wearing them now!

so CCgirl I assume you are in maint.? your stats are awesome! I am seriously considering paleo once I get closer to goal. Is that what you are doing and if so how do you like it?

day 2 complete, but not without many thoughts of carby junk food. hope to see some results on the scale in the next couple days.

yeppers, I'm mostly QWL with added fat when I want to. I love it. Veggies when I want. Meatloaf cold slathered in mayo. Cheese when I want (which is a LOT). Two percent milk. Half and half. Fettucine (Dreamfields) alfredo when I want.

Honestly, once you get off the carbs and realize how grain is ABSOLUTELY not part of the human diet and causes disease you don't want it back.

It never tastes the same, the euphoria is gone. Had a grilled cheese awhile back, meh. Not worth it. A brownie (I make them SF and locarb), maybe a half inch square and done. No thrill. Potato salad? Tastes funky, no thanks.

Give me wings, fried chicken. A steak now and then. Cole slaw. Mozzerella sticks. Onion rings on occasion. Clam chowdah (I pick out the potatoes). Shrimp bisque. Every once in awhile i will tear off a postage stamp sized clump of bread and lather a teaspoon of buttah on it and eat it. Salami. Greek salads. Sausage and eggs (the salt kills me but I love it, I do the turkey sausage.) Bologna and cheese lathered with mayo wrapped in a romaine leaf. BLT wrapped in romaine, yum. Taco salad, made at home with no tortilla basket, I use ground turkey.

The sad thing is my stepsister and stepmom are both obese. I gave them all the tools of QWL, the books, websites, etc. My stepmom actually got down to a size ten six years ago. My stepsis has kids that are gluten intolerant, PERFECT scenario to get the fam LC. And yet they remain obese. They can't get off the bread, sugar and cereal. Diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, plantar fasciatis headed to them soon, stepmom already there. When I visit them and have lunchmeat with no bread they always comment 'Still with the no bread?' And when she offered to lend me a bathing suit and I told her I was an 8 or 6 size, she froze and then said 'Well I guess I can't loan you one of mine.' If she's a size 14 that would be me being kind.

When I asked my stepmom about regaining she said 'I know how to lose it, I just can't maintain it.'

That's the key. You can't EVER go back, EVER. It's LC for life. Once you go back to carbs you're DONE.
