BCG- I am sending healing thoughts for YOUR family and your dear Dad.

I have the WORST stomach flu EVER!! I spent the night curled up in the bathroom on the floor of the hotel just sick sick sick!! I could barely eat anything today so I am sticking to dry toast. Funny when I'm sick the only thing that soothes my stomach is toast, rice or crackers. I will see my mentor tomorrow. So emotionally tough.

Thanks Turan. I am sending you supportive thoughts.

I went to Value village looking for a kitchen appliance. Didn't find it but I did find a Reebok Step for 5.99! I am in contact with the distributor right now to get some missing pieces.

glad about your Dad, bc. Do you see a chiropractor?

Ugh, Turan, the only thing fo stomach flu is Tagamet, that's what my doc gives me. Take double the recommended dose of the over the counter stuff. It totally kills the nausea. Feel better soon!

No, I don't see a chiropractor. I have degenerative arthritis in my spine and with being overweight and the changing weather here, my back sometimes acts up.

A chiropractor? Gosh no! I have seen too many people who have had more problems after seeing one of those. My plan is to lose the weight and get into shape then much of the pain will go away.

Wow, bc, I never met anyone who had more problems after chiropractic. The rub is you have to stick with it. Forever. Especially with arthritis which is actually a side effect of bieng out of alignment and curable thru chiro treatment. Gonstead method practicing only.

Well, on a lighter note today I go to the ghetto grocery store; the kind where you bag your own. Save tons of money.

Blech. Good thing the winter coats are still in my closet!

Good Saturday morning. I'm tired. Really. I'm just plain tuckered out. But I've got to keep pushing on. In a bit I'll take a load over to the house and stop to reserve a small truck. I went way off plan yesterday at dinner. And then I had leftovers for breakfast. I need some food that is just easy to grab and eat. I think I'll get some good lunchmeat and swiss cheese. It is not ideal, but I'm closing the kitchen here and won't spend the night in the house until Monday.

I've been trying to decide if I dare take my treadmill to the house. My plan has been to only have things I can move myself. You know - the necessities I'll need for a couple of months. But I'll take my tv and I can't move that myself, so since I'll need help with that I was thinking about having my treadmill at the house. Then I thought I would get a cheap elliptical machine - some of them are very light weight and I can both fit it in my car and move it myself. Any thoughts?

Turan - I woke up thinking about you. Peace be with you on this journey.

BC - How is the weight loss going? I need to get in a walking routine. I hope when I'm moved I'll be able to get my body moving.

CC - what is on your shopping list?

Tiny - you can do it! Bumps in the road are to be expected!

And now, alas, I've got to get packing! Did I mention that I'm tired?

Turan, hope you feel better!

Mim, CC thanks for the encouragement. Drinking and cheating (sounds like a country song) set me back a few pounds, but I'm back on track right now.

BC, I agree that weight loss will ease your pain, but good chiropractors are magic! Sounds like you've only heard about the bad ones!

Starz, I feel you on the salad issue, but I'm still hardcore at this point.

Happy Saturday all!!!

I have now been walking for six days straight. My weight was climbing then my TOM started. I will see what happens tomorrow. It is common for weight to increase at first apparently - other people have had the same thing happen then the weight starts coming off.

Tomorrow I am going to start my weight routine. Two to three days a week I will do American Gladiators Muscle Madness I think it is called. About 25 minutes. And make sure that on non weight lifting days, I am walking in the afternoon as well. Or doing other cardio. And of course I am doing Tai Chi because it is relaxing.

Good luck with the packing. How much do you use the treadmill? That is what you should think of when considering whether to move it. If it is something you use then get help with it. If not, let it go and invest in something that you will get use out of.

The thing is that any doctor or chiropractor will tell me to get the weight off first. So that is what I am doing.

Chiropractors may help with the pain but the practice doesn't cure arthritis. I find if I am active and my weight is down my arthritis is a lot better.

When I was 19 I was horseback riding and the horse had a heart attack and fell on me. Cracked my skull. I have been dropped numerous times and that is what led to the arthritis. Good parties though and I had lots of fun getting the arthritis! LOL

Hey Turan! I am creating a character in my latest novel - a minor character, forensic pathologist. She is a tall, beautiful, African-Canadian woman with the name Ophelia Turan. Wonder who inspired that?

No. I'm putting my furniture and other stuff in my storage unit. I'll be camping out at dd's empty house which is about 20 minutes from where I live now. Their house has been on the market for awhile - watch it sell as soon as I get there! If I get a permanent call, I'll move everything to my new church house. If I do another interim I'm not sure what I'll do. It will depend on where it is. I should be at this church until September 1st or until I get another call, whichever comes first.

I think low carbing is a great way to go b/c we can do it forever. It is a healthy way of eating.

I remember that you write paranormal. Glad you liked the cover. Did you see the faces in the flowers?

YES, did see them, meant to reply that was so cool. I do most of my own covers, edit for others and do covers too when time permits.

Yes like LCing and it's my way from now on. Hope your arthritis gets better.

I didn't do the covers! It was my father's suggestion and my editor's creation. I am not visually artistic at all!

And C.C. - don't sell your saddles! If I had the opportunity to go riding now, I would. It was a freak accident.

ya, bc, our guys haven't been ridden in years but I would love to ride again.

I saw on a forum someone in Ocala that has an English tbred that needs to be ridden and shown and the offer was you ride him and show him, we maintain and feed him. Sweet deal.

I haven't been in the saddle for fifteen years or so but rode since the age of six. English and later western.

I have only ridden western. I live in a city now and I can't afford to go to the suburbs and rent a horse so riding isn't something I am really able to do right now.

As for the saying you posted in the last entry, here's another one. "Man makes plans and God laughs'. I love that one, to me it means to always be flexible.

Like with dieting and exercising. Yes, I agree it isn't helpful to keep changing plans but it is also necessary to adjust as you go along. Know what doesn't work and discard.

Gotta go, working on my book!
