Getting there-thanks. I hope you'll be staying around here! My goal is to be 130. I hope I have a whoosh tonight. I'm gonna cry in happiness when I'm in the 170's..I'm near 182 now...so I hope I wake up with a whoosh. Do you notice it happens faster if I drink more then 10 cups water everyday? Will that help to speed things along. I haven't been in a decent swimsuit in years, well I'm only 25 but still...I wanna be happier and see the difference. I have to say, this is less painful then I had and have been feeling about my body. But I wanna be confident again. And I want my life back...anyway I have a goal I wanna meet this year as well and I am happy to have people here to understand and support. Thanks oh and getting mustard tomorrow. I am wondering if I should cut out the ketchup completely as I love to eat it as it's around..it is reduced carb and calories but 13g sugar per 100g. Wow...never imagined I'd be thinking of sugar in ketchup!

Ditch the ketchup for sure! It will really slow you down. Try and stay under 20g of carbs each day - you will see better results. For me, that means cutting out the cottage cheese and any kind of creamer in coffee - both things make this hard for me to maintain.

But I definitely lose faster when it's pretty much just meat and eggs.

Down 14 since the 28th of January. Frustrated, though, not really sure I can maintain this WOE.

I know it's hard--but surely 14lbs in nearly as many days is incentive enough to keep going???? I mean there is no other woe that will get the weight off faster. And is that not a bigger prize than being able to eat cottage cheese or something?? Yeah it's tough, no denying it-but losing the weight is better! Being overweight is way tougher--and believe me maintaining it comes a close second!!!

Just read this over on the Dukan thread but is a brilliant way to look at cheating!!!! I have never ever thought of it like that. If we did I reckon we'd lose the all or nothing mentality.... I made a poor choice today, oh well, move on!!!

Remember this is a WOE not a diet! It is for life!
We dont "CHEAT" we make good, not so good & poor choices but learn from each choice we make!

Im2---you know you can, you know you can!!!!!

I think dieting has to be like taking a band-aid off!!! Do it fast and hard!!!! Doesn't that hurt a lot less in the long run than pulling it off in little tugs???!!!! Rip hard and fast once and you're done!!!!

It took me months to look ion the mirror and see the difference, it comes off so quick that it takes a while for your brain to catch up with your waistline!

Some people also stall from fake sugar and caffeine so if you are eating those things that could be it.... I love crystal light I went to the states in early december and bought about 30 boxes of it and it stalls me so now I don't touch it but I still have all those boxes so once every few weeks I will have 1 or 2

Thats so true! I always think its better to lose the weight quick even ifs its unhealthily fast because being over weight long term is unhealthier in the end and I could never word it properly... I am stealing that!

I did bad today I am not gonna even mention what I ate but after weeks of not a single cheat I don't even feel that bad... physically I feel bad but mentally I don't feel bad about it haha

Spring break starts on Monday and I can't wait I can go back to just eating when I want and what I want (meat) and no issues.

This is something I have Mentioned before but I find it very interesting that it keeps coming up:
I had 2 chicken breasts and an egg in class today and it started a talk between my stats teacher and I about how certain diets work for certain people based on heritage ( or nationality I don't know the word I want. I was saying I am inuit and eating lots of protein makes me feel good and she was saying how she's dutch and she does well on dairy because the dutch wouldn't necessarily be eating the cows as much as milking them it was interesting and something I think ppl need to keep in mind. If one woe doesn't work for you there will be one that does.

Like CC and how being a vegetarian wasn't good, maybe there is something in your background that has the more paleo diet.

Mar- I just read today that about 50% of African Americans are lactose intolerant and about 5-10% of Caucasians are because of genetics. It was an interesting read that's for sure. I think my body just likes being a carnivore.

Getting there: That's a great way to look at it. I feel like I'm resetting my taste buds. When I ate all of the ice cream and pizza and candy and.... yeah all of that stuff. It was disappointing. Now I know that my brain was making it seem way better than it actually was.

Happy VD day! I gave my boys each a box of expensive chocolate that I had squirreled away aNd if truth be told I bought the. Saying they are for the boys when I secretly knew I would be sampling! Old habit that I say ... Take that stupid chocolates I don't need you !

Today would have been their (Mum and Daddums) seventh anniversary; they ran off to Vegas for a Goth wedding in 2006, renewing the vows from 1994.

Happy Skinny Valentine's, everyone!

Good Thursday Morning! And Happy Valentine's Day! Let's give ourselves the gift of self love. Do something special for yourself today and stay on plan. We need to love ourselves if we are to anyone else!

I'm down another .5! I've been losing .5 a day for awhile now. I like it!

GT - are you still home or are you back teaching where you were. I'm glad to hear you say you won't exercise as much. 2.5 hours a day was too much! Now you can use some of that time to enjoy life!

Well done IM!

Mar - Native Americans are lactose intolerant. I really believe that heritage plays an important part in what foods work well for us.

I've got a meeting - what else is new - so I gotta run.

Seasonings sooo good!

Whoever told me seasonings will help with the palette when I was *****ing about giving up ketchup is totally right on! I never imagined it would really work but it sure does something cause it tasted like I must have been breaking a rule! It was yummy..chicken seasoning on broiled chicken and eggs. Wow...fabulous! Well according to my scale guys, I am either 180.4 or 83lbs...I get a different number in two different rooms. No idea why this would be...but anyway thanks for the seasons advice. I cannot wait to be in the 170's..I'm really glad I found this place cause every story I've read seems positive, and I am too impatient for any other diet..to wait months...to lose a few pounds. I haven't been on the 170's in three years...so this is gonna be cool. Thanks all,

Congrats!!!! you are almost there!!!!

I always weigh in the same room at the same spot in that room because my house is old and the floors aren't level, If I move my Scale farther into the room I lose 2 lbs instantly and if I move it 1 more foot in it looks like I have gained 4!

I never realized how unlevel my floors were until I had puppys coming in all the time and they would pee in one spot and I had to race to clean it before it spread all the way to the other side of the room!

Happy Valentines day guys! Wow MIM, Ready, and IM. Great weight loss.

I bought my best friend a box of chocolate...I kept it in my room for a week and then last weekend it just disappeared. What's weirder is I gained 5lbs overnight. I hope everybody has a great day today!
