Ok, I need to get started and see if I can get myself to the office - I would like to get all that work finished so I don't have to drag three little girls over there! I think my day is going to start with a long soak in a lavender bubble bath!

Good morning Everyone,
I just decided to postpone my start date to tomorrow. I'm still feeling a tad under the weather, but feeling much better compared to Sunday! Disney sounds great. Flights are nothing. Trains can get boring, but much more relaxing than being crammed in a flying bus. Greyhound are not too bad, but be prepared for delays. Everytime I take Greyhound, the buses are always late to leave the bus station, but they do a pretty good job of factoring in delays into their schedule. Whatever you decide, have a great vacation and stay focused on Stillman's! Yes, Mim, I'm starting to feel a little more anxious to start losing this weight! I just want to start feeling a little better so I can get through the weekend. Dustin |

Can too much salt in the buililion do this? I am doing everything right. And a small amount of regular ketchup is ok?

Ready, salt is the enemy, go for the low sodium broth. Try egg whites. Your cals seem pretty high, most of us are around 500-800 per day. Eat when you're hungry, not by the clock. Again, JMHO....

Oh my! That's so low! Plus I walk one hour everyday...
So salt is why? Damn...so once I flush it out, my true weight will show on the scale? And ketchup? |

Okay so I will aim for around 800 per day. As of right now, I sit at 785 for the day, I live in Europe as well so I'm doing well for being surrounded by fatty foods. It's hard for sure. Tomorrow is day 5, and I need to see a drop on the scale. Okay so new aim for around 800 calories per day. I really need to see a drop cause I'm kinds discouraged...at the hard work I've put in so far!

I definitely feel much better in my skin tho! I think I have lost some but it's not showing until I flush this sodium out. Yah I have consumed a lot o salt.

I've never limited cals (or even counted them) on Stillman's and I've still had great success. I would say it is the salt - it makes you retain water and with all the water you're drinking, your body is probably just holding too much. I do not use any bullion. I use broth if a recipe calls for it but I just don't eat much sodium anyhow - heart condition. Also something to consider - how much is a small amount of ketchup to you? It will come off - just keep goin |

Thanks!
Umm..like a couple TBSP on my chicken. Yeah I started using salty buililion with everything. So does this mean I haven't lost or once I flush out the salt then it will show on the scale? Cause I've been on this for almost 5 days with little change on the scale! Plus I've been walking almost everyday day one hour so I'd like to think something has happened! |

@Ready, birth control does affect weight loss for some people. It stalls me or makes me gain weight whenever I use it. Salt could be the problem or you could be retaining water in your fat cells instead of fat which will make you weigh the same. I would drink more water and then wait a couple of days to see if you get a visit from the whoosh fairy

When you lose fat your body fills the fat cells up with water to replace the fat so you will still weigh the same. After a while the water empties out from the fat cells in one big whoosh and you lose a bunch of weight over night. It's called getting a visit from the whoosh fairy.

I am having a lot of trouble not cheating lately. I saw this post by the Rock and he did 150 days of clean eating. I'm determined to do that too. I just bought a scale that came today that measured bone mass, water, body fat and muscle weight too so I'm hoping that it will motivate me. Now I can't lie to myself and say I'm just gaining muscle and not fat when I'm not losing weight. I have a mini goal of losing 40 more lbs my April 8th. Seems a little unrealistic now but it's still 5lbs a week. My best friend gets out of boot camp then and I'm hoping to wow him.

I didn't work out today and we had a networking conference for school and the chicken was breaded and kinda greasy so I only ate half and I was proud of myself and then the cake came out
and I ate a small piece... normally I can avoid those conference type crappy desserts but this one was good..or maybe its just been a while? At least it was a small piece and I didn't fall off the wagon |

Good Thursday morning! I am starting to feel human again. Not great but better. I'm heading off to drive 4 hours to meet my dd and grandgirls. dd is driving 4 hours too. We are meeting at a Cracker Barrel where it is easy to stay on plan. I do a low carb breakfast - slightly higher fat but still on plan.
Mar - congratulations on not going way off! Just having a small piece of cake shows great will power and a healthy relationship with food. Gotta run! Stay on plan everyone! |

Wow Mar, that's some control you have. If I cheat it's either all or nothing. I figure I've already messed up might as well throw it all away. That's how I've been in the past anyways. That's some discipline you have there.
