Girls--i agree with CC--ye gotta be patient!!!!!! You are not going to lose everyday or every week. Weight loss is not linear!! If you continue on the path of impatience you will definitely give up and fail. Sorry if it's harsh but it's true. All you can do is keep on plan and eventually you will lose. I'm presuming you have no health issues that prevent you from losing weight? No, well then Stillmans and low carb will work for you--just as it does for the 1000s of people who have done it before you!!! You didn't put on the weight overnight so it won't come overnight either.

As for cheats---they are what they are. How to deal with them? Well you know that yourselves, no magic formulas, just get back on plan asap.

I've never used protein powders. Firstly i find them gross---i did a week of slim-fast kind of powders before I started Srillmans and I nearly threw them up!!! Also it's not as though we need the extra protein on Stills!!!
And lastly real food is always better!! It's really easy to cook up a few eggs etc to always have something on hand.

me neither on the powders. No fake food here except for Splenda and Crystal Light.

I was on a soda kick until I relized two bottles a week is 100 dollars a year vs. one pack of CL with 5 envelopes lasts a month for 2.49.

GT - I think you are right. We have to stay the course.

I'll use a protein powder shake only in the summer when it is flat out too hot to eat. I don't do artificial sweeteners and use ones sweetened with stevia. Haven't tried one on Stillmans since it isn't 115 degrees outside.

Good Monday morning! I lost another half pound! Go me!

I used protein powder for shakes a couple of years ago. I really enjoyed drinking one occasionally as a treat. I know there is a difference in what kind you buy - Yam-Yam had posted about that. But I don't remember what the difference is! I used FatFlush's stuff.

I'm having a slow morning - I just want to sit and drink coffee. But alas, I must get moving! I'll check in later!

I have always used protein powder shakes on Stillmans and it did not effect my weight loss.
I would use it as a meal replacement if I just could not stomach another meat meal and found it helpful for those times. It really took care of that need for a dessert type thing for me.
A shake I make in my Magic Bullet is very, good and the jello makes it very thick and mousse like. You can also use dissolved unflavored gelatin and a couple berries to avoid some of the artificial sweetener.

A few ice cubes
Tbs. of FF cottage cheese *optional ( adds a little richness)
1/2 scoop Vanilla protein powder (lowest carb one you can find)
1/2 cup of fruity flavor sugar free jello ( premade tubs or homemade your favorite flavor, dark cherry is good or dissolved unflavored and a few berries with sweetener of your choice)
Just enough water to make the blender move. Too much water and it won't be as thick.
Blend and blend and the ice and jello will make it get thicker and thicker as it stands. You can pop it in the fridge and it sets up even more.

Congrats Mim!

Happy Presidents' Day! I'm
Always thankful for the government holiday ! So I went to a fundraiser ( relay for life) dinner last night .. Buffet style which I looked at as a bonus! I loaded my plate with salad green beans and chicken (before you scream: I passed up mashed potatoes coconut shrimp cheesecake and garlic bread!) so I call it a success! I did, however, have 2 Corunna's and I don't even drink Beer! So how stupid was that? Well over and done and still a success in my book. I didn't leave bloated and stuffed and we raised over 5000 for cancer

Thanks for the welcomes. Today is Day 7 and the intense hunger is finally starting to die down. I've found I really like the low fat chicken and turkey sausages, just trying to find the ones with the least nitrates, etc.

RTL: Cut out the bouillon and start watching how much sodium you are consuming, The salt in those packaged chicken broth packages always makes me stall even if my Calories and carbs are super low.

As for cheats we all have them, I was off all weekend I gained 2lbs since Thursday (but I ate a lot!!) but it will be off before I know it and I will be losing again the hardest thing is starting again and but you already have so its all good!

Comp: I forgot to say welcome! Day 7 is great. . you should be shrinking in no time.

I did not do terrible today. . Burger. . A chunk of ham (I was making scalloped potato and ham for the family tomorrow) . . I took out some steak and have it marinating in Wostershire sauce. .chicken marinating in lemon pepper,. and boiled some eggs. I ate burger sprinkled with a little cheddar, hot sauce and mustard. it was good and kept me satisifed for most of the day I was so busy today that I didn't get in all my water. . so I am trying to make up for it now. I'll probably be up all night, now. LOL . I call it exercise!!

I pulled the trigger on our vaction today. . booked the flights and the room. . I sure hope I picked the right place. There are so many to choose from but with 6 of us, it's tough on such a tight budget. This seemed to be most reasonable and I told the boys. . You will be loading up on free breakfast. . LOL

I wanted to be near old town and this seems to be within walking distance. We have decided to forgo the car and rely on shuttles and public transportation. . How confusing! As i said before, I've never flown so this will be a huge/new experience for all of us. I need to hurry and get in shape, too. .lots of walking!!!

Decided to check my weight once a week. The daily check makes me stressed and sometimes disappointed right now am at 145 lb and I want to reach 130 by April (a reasonable goal I guess)
Say, anyone else has this weird sweet taste in their mouth? It makes water taste better somehow.

IM2fat: oh no! Daily weight checks are just cruel. Specially when you work super hard the day before. Its just like a slap to the face. To be honest, I'm tempted to jump on the scale right now but I know I wont like the number I'll see haha (by the way, why the harsh name? 181 is not "too" fat)

Mar: sure thing!! So far I guess I'm doing good. I exercise on an stationary bike for 30 minutes and do callanetics afterwards almost everyday. I had a break the last 2 days though cause my muscles started complaining haha!
We can do this, Mar all we need is will power and avoid temptations.

IM- Congrats on the trip! I am sure you'll love it! I love love love breakfast food but I think that's because I'm rarely awake to eat it. I can't wait to hear about your trip.

I want to be in the 140s by April but I'd take 150s or 160s too!

Thanks for the help with the protein powders. I drank one yesterday and was down a pound today. I hope that doesn't mean it stopped me from being down 3lbs today. There are so many yummy protein powder names out there it tempts me. I just ordered peanut butter cookie dough, molten lava cake and peanut butter marshmallow. And they all have 3 or less carbs per serving. YUMMY!

Don't cry I2F, I have the same story today as well. I have not lost an ounce since buying the scale 4 days ago. The past couple of days I have barely ate anything feeling junky with my cold. I am blaming it on the cold and salty broth.
Nothing like a trip for motivation!

Good Tuesday morning friends! Ahhhhhh weighing. It is a tough one. I weigh every day. I've tried weekly and once even monthly. But for me, everyday works the best. Even when I don't lose, I see/remember that it is a smaller number than it was a week ago. And when I've been on plan, I know the scale will move eventually. We are all different, and figuring out what works best for us is key to making this a success!

Today is my weekly weigh in and ...........drumroll...........I lost 3.5 pounds! I'm very pleased. I've been losing steadily at a good clip. Yesterday I was really craving something sweet and told myself that today I would buy things to make a legal cheesecake. I don't want to go off plan, but I wanted a legal treat. I'm going to try to hold off, wait this silly craving out. But if I do indulge, you can bet it will be legal. Well, Atkins legal at least.
