Ratios on Stillmans

I'm considering trying Stillmans to expedite some fat loss. I have been doing low carb (35-50) for some time and my ratios tend to be F: 60%, P: 30%, C: 10%.

I'm just curious what your ratios average out to be on stillmans. If I keep my carbs the same and up my protein a little, it seems like the fat % is still somewhat high, or at least moderate (but not "low"). Or else I will need to make my calorie intake very low, but I'm afraid I will be starving without the satiating fat.

Just curious what those of you who have been doing this for a while have seen.

Thanks!

I don't necessarily keep track of my ratios, but Stillmans is essentially a low (zero) carb, low fat, high protein diet. Some have found that they get better results on Stillmans as opposed to high fat (Atkins type) diets because of the low fat. Since you're pretty much just eating lean meats, it is an inherently low calorie diet, but the protein is what curbs hunger here. After a week or two on Stillmans, you'll find that you are not hungry very often and it doesn't take much to fill you up. Sounds extreme, but it really works for quick weight loss and after a while, many people here start incorporating other low carb/low fat foods (like veggies) or plan "off days" (usually still low carb, but not zero) every once in a while.

I have not been tracking it at all. I just tend to stick to chicken, low fat ground turkey breast, and fish.
I am doing good to stay on plan without having to complicate it.

I looked in my ****** and over the last month my average seems that my fat and protein are even at 48% and my carbs are at 4%.
However the higher fat % comes from the eggs I eat. I eat the yolks not just the whites. But all my meats and fish are low fat.
Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Yes that helps quite a bit.
And with that average, you are losing?
I was thinking that Low Fat meant down around 10-20% fat. I can do 40%!

I've enjoyed great success with Stillman over the years. I don't calculate any ratios but tend to eat a great deal of fish and poultry while keeping my carbs under 10 grams/day.

Good Luck,

Yes I still lose. I do also watch my calories carefully though. The whole eggs just have quite a bit of fat in their percentages. I mostly eat eggs chicken and fish. Beef seems to keep my weight at a standstill so I avoid it. In the month of June I lost 9 lbs. But I also didn't do strict Stillmans everyday of June. To me 9 lbs isn't bad at all since I am almost at my goal.
You should join the July thread.

HI LADIES!

Yea! There are so many new faces here! I'm so excited to see everyone. Isn't this diet AMAZING! For those who don't know me, my name is Beth, these wonderful woman helped me so much last yr. I lost all my wt in a MONTH! Lightning fast. I was a low carber for many yrs. mostly Atkins but once I got the knowledge of Stills I was on fire.

I'd love to post a few pics, but I don't know how to do that?! Can someone walk me through this process.

I'm back in the saddle with you all as I did an experiment. A VERY, VERY BAD ONE AT THAT! ARGH! Has anyone heard of "The Weigh Down Diet" by chance? Well, for some reason, my body HATED IT and I've gained probably 15 or so in such a short time. I did it like 3 weeks and actually gained! OH WELL, Stills is there to rescue us right?

I hope Al comes back. So nice to see you GT, and AKAGal! How's married life.

Hugs to you all and let's gettr done!

Beth
