Ugh....was up .5 this morning. I ate more food today than I ever do
2 poached eggs for breakfast 2 chicken burgers lunch hard boiled egg and shrimp dinner but I had diet soda and coffee with splenda, which i hope doesn't kill me. The next two days I am gonna cut out the other drinks (well, I'll drink the coffee black, or they might fire me for sleeping on the job) and I will try and eat a hb egg snack round 3 to keep myself from getting super cranky. Thanks for all the advice and I will let y'all know how it goes... now off to the gym to run. |

so when we are doing stillmans, what do we think the real key for losing weight? would it be low fat, low carb, low calories or medium protein levels?
Or...maybe all of the above working together in harmony? I'll always trying to find that magic "one thing" bullet when it comes to losing. I have one rescue dog--she is sweet, but barks at other. I have a puppy that we started from the beginning. she has no issues. she is so friendly and social, but does like to be the full center of attention. they are all different. just like people with their own personalities. |

I expect a water gain tomorrow. I had the munchies SO BAD (dang hormones) and chicken, tuna, and turkey would not cut it. I ate some real bacon. Several slices...
It was soooo yummy. It is still on plan, just way more fat and calories than I ever eat in a day. In the past I would have went off plan and ate some carb filled disaster that lasted several days. A win for me....I am going to do just plain turkey burgers tomorrow. Quote:

I think it is a combo of low fat and low calories. That is how I do it. I adore people that do rescues. I wish I had been brave enough to do it. Having 2 kids I did not feel safe enough getting an older dog. They has no puppies in my local shelters. We are on the list at the shelter to be called if a dog ever met our needs. It has been 6 months and they have never called. Never know.. I may look into fostering.Quote:
I am off to bed! Have a great evening everyone.

Shreem - at the end of the day, calorie is king. Next would come carb, then fat, then protein. So I look at it like this:
If you want to lose fat start by cutting calories. Then cut carbs (you'll get further). When that starts to studder out, you cut the fat. Once the calories, carbs, and fat have been cut - balance your protein. But yes, they all work in together. |

Today was 5 chicken breasts (plain!), an iced coffee with sugarfree syrup, and lots of water & diet Coke. And it was SO EASY. I didn't have any cravings or thoughts about food at all. Which is CRAZY for me because I'm a food addict.
SillyErin and others are right about keeping it totally plain for the best results. The only challenge I see is cutting out the coffee and diet soda. Tomorrow I'm going to swap those out with espresso and club soda, and stick with plain chicken breast. It feels SO GOOD to have completed a plain eating day. I feel super encouraged that I'll be able to maintain when I'm finished. On the Dukan diet, in the final phase you eat whatever you want, but you have a pure protein (Stillman's) day 1x/week to maintain it. I'm totally ok with doing that for the rest of my life if it means I can stay at a healthy weight forever. My plan for maintenance is no sugar, no flour, no booze, and don't go crazy with fat. I can definitely live with this. I can't wait to be at a healthy weight!!! |

I am literally going crazy. I went up another half a pound and am back at 149. I have no idea what happened. Today I am cutting out all excess fake sugar (no splenda, diet coke etc) and we'll see how it goes. I am ready to pull my hair out, I have no idea why this is happening.

Good morning! I had a lovely day at the amusement park. Yes, Brattyfood is allowed in. They have picnic areas. I had a tuna pouch while the kids had ice cream. And my tuna tasted better to me than ice cream would have. And I woke up a pound and a half lighter! Today is an easy day for me. I'm going to enjoy the slow downed pace of it. Have a great day, folks!

I have 2 lbs of bacon induced water retention today.
Some could be my sore calf muscles from walking yesterday. I wore my shape ups so my legs got a little extra work than a normal walk.I plan to have egg drop soup for lunch and a turkey burger for dinner. Just finished a 30 minute dog walk. Will probably do another later. |

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to report in that i am feeling so much better by adding in some salad vegetables. I find it much easier to get the tuna and turkey down when it's served on a bed of lettuce with some balsamic vinegar! I am going to weigh in on Friday and report my results. Hope everyone is having a great week! |

"However, a study conducted by exercise scientists has found no evidence that toning shoes provide any significant benefit over traditional athletic shoes. In fact, knowledgeable medical experts advise that toning shoes actually pose major risks. Indeed, it is well recognized in the orthopedic community that anything that impacts your gait may cause harm to your bones, muscles and joints. Regrettably, the toning shoe manufacturers ignored this literature and failed to conduct adequate safety studies to demonstrate that wearing these shoes is safe. Toning shoes' built-in instability can increase the risk of stress fractures, falling and fall injuries. The shoes are especially risky for elderly people, diabetics and those with poor balance, vertigo, lack of feeling in their feet or chronically weak ankles. Many injuries have occurred to nurses, health care providers, waiters and others in the service industries as the toning shoe manufacturers have specifically targeted these groups in their marketing campaigns. One toning shoe user in Ohio has expert medical proof that her use of those shoes led to fractures in both of her hips. She has filed a claim against the toning shoe manufacturer to recover damages for her injuries. "
