(insert round of applause) So yesterday I did the fat fast for 1 day and am down from 133.6 to 131, so down 2.6 lbs. I'll be staying on the fat fast for another few days then going back to Stillman's. Happy to have moved the scale, and its a good thing because in march I was on track for awhile until I reached about 129, then I stalled for over a week and the frustration did me in until I just binged out of anger. |

Hmmmmm, I am hungry. I've been hungry all day! I have been eating - on plan of course, but I can't get full! I am truly hungry. This has never happened to me before.

Today was day 3 for me, and probably the hardest!
I was craving bread, and veggies, and soda. I resisted the temptation though! I came home, had an egg, and grabbed a flavored sparkling water, and now I'm ok :] I hope everybody else did okay today! |

Hi everyone. I am new to Stillman's and so, would like to join you for ideas and support. I've read the diet and the recipe thread. I think I can do this with your help. I'm a zero carber before today.
Today was day one. I will see what the scale says in the a.m. Not sure if Stillman's works that soon. Looking forward to your words of wisdom and the commradery. More tomorrow. |

I hope you finally got to sleep! Yes, it does cause insomnia for some in the beginning. I have around 2-3 sleep deprived nights soon after I'm in ketosis. It will pass and soon you will be sleeping soundly again!

Good morning! Speaking of sleep - I actually slept in a bit this morning. It felt really good. I just have a bit of work to do and then I'm off for the rest of the day! I wonder what kind of mischief I can get into!

That is great! My body did that good the first time I did Stillman. I wish I had known about that golden time then. Now I do not respond as well. It still works, just not as fabulous as it did the very first time.Quote:

WOW - I guess I can't neglect the boards during the weekend. You guys keep up with your posting
Today is Day 6 for me - I've remained perfect (except for some pickles) Bratty - I think you asked me about the Taco Seasoning - YES they do have carbs IF you buy the pre-made packets. You can get an easy recipe online so you can make it yourself. The packets have potato starch and whey (milk solids) and corn syrup. Ground Turkey with taco seasonings mixed it - in a bowl is AMAZING. So good! I make a big pot of it and just slap it in a bowl and eat it that way. KittenYou asked me how I got to 120. This is a question I'm asked all the time. In fact, I was posting here in Oct 2009 and documenting it while it happened. First of all, I was "IN THE ZONE" - you know, when you have so much motivation to get there that you CANT STOP. I wouldnt be this hard on my body now, but I was determined to see if I could get there. I was running about 16-20 miles a week, Doing Fast-5, eating JUST chicken breast, or JUST ground turkey (no seasonings, no mustard, no nothin') and just water. This COMPLETELY turned off my appetite and nixed any cravings for binges. I would eat as much plain chicken or plain turkey as I wanted - but just in an eating window of 5pm-10pm (Google "Fast-5"). I also went off plan at least 2 times a week. I'd have a dinner only (balanced of whatever I wanted) within an hour as to not spike my insulin. As long as I ate perfectly clean the next day, I always stayed in ketosis and always kept losing. When I went off plan it was always intentional, and I considered it part of my plan. In fact, it worked better for me than continually staying on Stillmans totally. But when I did Stillmans I also left no room for error. I was against artificial sweeteners, any cheese, or dips/condiments and seasoning. Everything changed when I started sticking to those rules. Stillmans literally became almost "too effective". So I believe now, (even though I do it from time to time) that adding the extras COMPLETELY slow down the losses. Kick those out, and the weight will pour off of you. As far as incorporating intentional "cheats" - I never recommend it if youre still struggling with binges. It can be a very BAD slippery slope. You MUST, MUST, MUST have those cravings GONE (be in ketosis) to be able to do it successfully. Trust me! I was at a point where I was eating emotionally some time last year and trying to jump back on the wagon. Trying to do my original plan while still craving food would lead to eating off plan completely because it awakens cravings back. The best thing to do is go with Stillmans for as long as you can to KILL THE HABIT of cheating/binges. It will go away eventually, but you have to train your brain that you don't do it anymore. (This is a whole entire other topic And thats the "formula". We all have trouble losing because of "falling off plan"....if we could just STAY ON, it would be a one shot road to our goal weight. I really believe it starts with taking away those urges to cheat, and you can totally turn off those urges if you just (no matter how hard it is) stay on plan enough to break the habit. After that...it happens. And lemme tell yuh' its SURREAL when you wear a size 2. I never felt it was really me. Its crazy. But its also not "be all, end all" that we think it is in our heads

Hi everyone!! I hope you all are doing well and had a great weekend!
Man, I was doing great for a while after a stall for a bit and now I'm back to another stall around 155 lbs. I've been getting kinda creative with my cooking, not staying on strict Stillmans but still staying low carb, so that's probably why. Although I have NOT had any binges at all, and the closest I've come to cheating is a couple carnitas tacos from a favorite taqueria. BUT no sweets, no chocolate, no icecream, no pizza, nothing like that in 3 weeks! Pretty proud of myself for that one. I think making more flavorful meals helps stop the craving for other things. The way I see it, if you make delicious food, you can't even tell you're dieting! I guess it comes with the cost of slower results but I've been pretty generous with the timing of my goals so hopefully it still works out. Quote:
