Introductions

Hi,

My name is Karen and I am 5'2" and currently weight 177.4 pounds. My goal is to get down to 125. (Some might go lower but my ancestors were good peasant stock so I am solidly built and getting too thin would not be a good idea)

I have MS and a number of years ago I ended up in hospital due to a rare, previously undiagnosed allergy to my pet birds. I was put on prednisone and my specialist called the medication 'piggy pills' because it makes you eat. And after I was off the meds I kept eating! So I was over two hundred pounds.

I've tried a lot of different diets and plans but I have been sticking with low carb eating for around six months. (It lowered my glucose levels from warning diabetes to normal so I don't want it back up) I am starting the Stillman plan with the 14 day that includes vegetables because I went shopping last week and bought some broccoli and mushrooms.

I look forward to learning from you all and losing the weight. Can I use protein powder mixed with water on this diet?

Hi BC,
Glad to meet you. Well i do almond milk instead of the cottage cheese and somepeople do th Protein powder also.

I have been doing a hybrid on the plan, but I know some of the folks here adhere alot more strictly.

Sorry to hear of your allergy to your pet bird.
Check in alot it helps to keep in touch with others. Do you have the book?

HI It'sTime,

I have coconut milk right now but I am putting that away. I will be getting more strict when I finish the vegies I have. But I will take a break and have a cheat day at the end of the month. I have ordered the book through eBay. Thanks for the welcome.
