Afternoon! The scale did not move today but I know it is because I hardly drank anything yesterday and my dinner was a smidgen on the high sodium side. I can not run errands and have to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes like I do at home.

I have lost 3 pounds in the last week. Not a great number but it nothing to be upset about either. I know my losing is slowed down a bit with my cheese but I am ok with that. It is helping me stay on plan. I cheese.

Don't feel sorry Im2---that's what we're here for--you vent away--as often as you like. Sometimes writing down exactely how you feel and letting it all out is enough to make you feel a little better.
On another note on how you have always spent your birthdays on a diet, trying to avoud family fotos, always trying to lose the few pounds etc. and the things you've done to lose weight. I have thought about you often--no really I have. I think that if I don't do something now or at least change my attitude towards my body abd food then that will be my future too. It's not a life I'd wish on anyone. I do wish you'd make peace with your body. I mean it's done amazing things for you, given you your boys, things I hope for the future too. Yeah we all should eat well and healthily, but does it really matter, or at least should it matter if we don't fit our teeniest jeans, in the grand scheme of things? Absolutely not!!! It kills me that it's so important to us. I mean family, friends, having a rich worthwhile life is the important thing, not a life spent calorie or sugar gramm counting.
.....and yet I know we'll all still be here beating ourselves up if we put on a pound.

The thing about your body becoming better at extracting calories after a diet really clicked with me when I read it in Dukan's book. I never understood the yo-yo effect before--as in why it happened. It shows we really have to be vigilant if we don't want to gain it back. He also says after a while your body returns to normal-so good!!

Was reading about the 'resting' on another thread, Yam--interesting! 5 days for every pound lost??? I'm doomed to not lose anither ound for a very long time so!!
I have thought of this as letting my body get used to it's new weight, the longer I maintain the 'happier and more relaxed' my body will get. And then after a while it will be like starting weight loss all over again. So I hope anyway!

Just a quick one, but wanted to thank everyone!!! I so appreciate your positive attitudes! I am feeling much better today and decided (after the game!) that I will have a small drink with hubby and then get down to business starting tomorrow morning! I did a great job (if I say so myself) at the game. . I brought my own chicken and bought a side salad. . The only bad thing I did do today was lick the frosting that jumped onto my finger while moving my birthday cake (that I bought for myself). . from one plate to another. . The kids ate the entire thing with the exception of two small pieces which I will dispurse later today to my two favorites!!! lol

GT: O wise one..... Wow. You just about had me in tears. And, this old lady does not cry easily!!!

You are spot on with your wisdom. What kept me going through menopause and the ensuing weight gain was the enjoyment of moments. I have 5 grand kids. They adore me. They don't ask me how much I weigh. thank the Lord! Their love is unconditional.

I am blessed with a horndog husband (can I say THAT??) who ravished me and tackled me every chance he got. (Um, and still does....like today...) I could not bend over to tie my shoes without him telling me how hot I am and going for it. Seriously!!!)

So glad I didn't miss a moment of it by constantly freaking out about a piece of flab here and there. Yes, I want to be better. Yes, I will be better.

Just sayin'.... Let's not miss the magical moments of our lives and wipe them out with self-condemnation. "You are beautiful, in every single way...." that's on my iPod. but who sings that???

Love you guys so much!

Every day is so wonderful
And suddenly it's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain, feel so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Tryin' hard to fill the emptiness, the piece is gone
Left the puzzle undone, ain't that the way it is?

'Cause you are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down, oh no
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no
[| From: BEAUTIFUL Lyrics - CHRISTINA AGUILERA |]
So don't you bring me down today

No matter what we do
No matter what we do
(No matter what we say)
No matter what we say
(We're the song that's outta tune)
(Full of beautiful mistakes)

(And everywhere we go)
And everywhere we go
(The sun will always shine)
The sun will always, always shine!
(But tomorrow we might awake on the other side)

'Cause we are beautiful no matter what they say
Yes, words won't bring us down, oh no
We are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring us down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

Don't you bring me down today
Don't you bring me down today

Up a half a pound today. I will chalk it up to body fluctuations and the beginning of my monthly bloat. I will admit that for a split second I let it get me down enough to think about going off plan for a day. Then I mentally slapped myself. I am stronger than that and I am worth not doing it to myself again.

Awesome self control! I know about the finger licking. It is hard not to do it when I get peanut butter or worse nutella on my finger while making the kids lunches.

Get on your bike!!!

Yes.. either M-F Stillman's and refeed Sundays (good carbs)
or 10 days on 2 off.. or pre exercise carbs depending on time/distance.

Raced on Saturday and had long hard ride Sunday clears out the carbs and put's you into Ketosis faster.. starving yesterday.. today didn't even want breakfast..

Monday!!! Tis a new week and a new us!! Let's make this week wonderful. . I am hungry today!! guess I overdid it this weekend.. I refused to weigh on the scale this morning and will report in tomorrow. I could tell I was holding water and didn't want the number to change my mood. . although my mood is blah. . . . blah. .

Think I'm tired and I think that drinkey poo did me in. I'm off for a week and promise to do only good things. I will stick to my plan. eggs (or protein) in the morning, salad and protein for lunch and then back to full protein for dinner. .I seemed to have the most luck doing this. I just can't give up my veggies and really believe that a body need them!!

OK . pals. . take your vitamins, do something active today and give yourself a high five!!
