Danielle--30 is prob not possible with your low weight---but it will be pretty close!! As Mim said you'll lose inches and you'll be lots smaller!
What CC said---try and keep things as lean as possible but a salad a few times definitely won't hurt you. (I eat salad)More importantly is to keep away from pricessed meats, sauces, diet drinks etc.
Enjoy kickboxing!

Getting there--

Thank you for ur words of encouragement and I will definitely stick away from
Processed meats. I know boarshead brand has no fillers on turkey and chicken breasts and I'm a mess when it comes to cooking let alone I work a ton I'm 25 so inline with my folks still

I pretty much can live on eggs, lettuce and boarshead meats

I hope I can lose something !

Well done on your first day! For me, day 4 and 5 are hard and then it easy. And after 5 days you will feel so good that you will wonder why eat any other way!

Danielle: I lost 24 pounds in August doing LC but I started out way heavier than you are now.

If you stick to lean protein, lots and lots of water and a salad here and there plus exercise, you should really go down in size for sure. You will turn into a fat burning machine! You will be a hot bridesmaid!

I'm so happy with my scale right now I could kiss her!

My WL has definitely slowed down. I won't be losing 24 pounds in a month any more. However, I'm amazed every morning that it's staying down and slowly going further and further down.

MIM: So glad you are charting your daily weight! I started my chart on August 1st and it's great to just enter my weight every morning and then occasionally spread out the chart and look at my progress and the trends.

It appears I have to hit my new low between 4 and 6 times before I drop lower. I bounce up a bit back down up down in a pattern. But the high bounces get lower and lower and then all of a sudden ---drop. The low number drops again.

Of course, these days I celebrate in ounces lost and not pounds all at once. But they do add up!

BTW: My avatar is a photo that was taken of me and DH a while back. I was wearing a size 16 in that picture!! Now I'm in a loose size 12. Much better. And, my hair is longer.

Keep toying with the idea of cutting it off again. But I think I'll wait until summer and maybe not go as short. Not sure. I keep changing my mind.

Danille - Yam gave you good advice that I can't expand on. So, I'll give you a piece of general advise. I am the oldest (in years, not time on the boards) poster so hear what this old lady has to say: Get the weight off now, learn to eat to live - i.e. to keep your body at a healthy weight, and enjoy life! Getting the weight off while you are young is far more enjoyable that living life uncomfortable in your skin!

Great picture! And now confession time - when you were here before, I loved your hair so much that I got mine cut! It is not the same style, but I went from shoulder length to short. And I've never been tempted to let it grow again!

I'll bet you look adorable! Truth is, DH really likes mine short. He's unusual in that he is not a "long hair lover" kinda guy.

My reason for letting it grow and go wild was just laziness. Time and money too. My hair grows so darn fast. And it's very thick. I got tired of having to go in every 3 weeks, sometimes less, to get it cut to keep it in the same wedge style. Tired of hearing hair dressers complain that because it's so thick, they have to schedule 2 app't times to cut and color it. Blah, blah, blah. Tired that it took them forever to do it and I hate giving up 3 or 4 hours that often to keep a style. And don't get me started on the ridiculous prices they charge!

Now I buy Loreal color when it's on sale and slap it on myself. And when the edges look frayed, I just snip off an inch or so at the bottom.

It's naturally curly (in that short style I always straightened it with a flat iron so I would not look like a poodle!!!) So, now I wash it, pull it back in a pony tail until the top is smooth and then just let the curls fall where they may. Sooooooo much easier. Like I said, lazy me.

I misplaced my camera. Gotta find it and get an updated photo. I think I look better now weight wise, for sure. Not so much the hair, but less lard than in that photo.

Ok so I'm still getting cravings for junk food (I havent acted on them thanks to all your support) I'm pretty much eating turkey and chicken breast I've had a few slices of low far cheese (laughing cow light) I also have had a few hard boiled eggs. In any event how long does it take for the cravings for junk to go away? I have been using diet rootbeer soda which helps alot bc it's like sweet. However I'm still eyeing that damn Easter candy! But Than I realize my goals snap out of it and continue on plan!!!

Keep your eye on the ball, Girl!!! When I just stuffed myself with lean beef (sirloin on the George Foreman), eggs and fish and water, water, water, Diet Pepsi, Water,,,,the cravings went away.

Maybe you need MORE protein. I think at your weight you should be trying to get in 80 to 90 grams of protein per day. Did you ever think about that? Try it one day and see. The rule is you take your current body weight, divide it by 2 and that is how many grams of protein you are supposed to have each day.

Hey yam-yam !

Thanks for the advice I had no idea about the dividing weight. I will do that today. Are you still doing strict stillmans?

I am also wondering if I'm eating enough calories I'm totally full by eating chicken and turkey I pretty much eat 1/4 pound turkey, 1/4 pound chicken and than 1/2 a pound of chicken for dinner

1/4 pound of chicken/turkey = 120 cals

Breakfast = 120 cals
Lunch= 120 cals
Dinner = 220 Cals

Total 440 cals sometimes I'll have a hars boiled egg or lowfat chees but that's like 40-80 calories not all that much

I am a little nervous seeing these numbers but I'm really not hungry

What do I do???

I have done Stillman's off and on all my life. Initially I lost 55 pounds when I was 15 years old doing Stillman's with my brother. I kept it off all my life by going back to Stills if I gained 5 pounds. Then it would come right back off. I also was an exercise fanatic.

In 2002 I seriously injured my back and had my first ride in an ambulance to the hospital. I was bed ridden for weeks and then in physical therapy for 4 months and was on a lot of drugs that probably killed my metabolism. You can imagine going from working out at high intensity from 2-4 hours a day and then -- nothin. Bed rest. Just stop. And the weight started to pile on.

Menopause hit at the same time. My hormones were whacked and Stillman's just didn't work. nothing did.

I noticed in 2010 that the hot flashes were going away and I was starting to feel normal again. So, I tried Stillman's and this time I did pretty good. Took off about 25 pounds pretty quickly. But then life came along and I got off track and put it back on by the beginning of 2011.

This is getting to be longer than I meant it to be! Sorry! (...and she keeps going...)

In July 2011 I read Dr. Dukan's book and thought, "Holy Cow! He is like a modern day Dr. Stillman!! Just new and improved w/ more info and more tips to get the lard off quickly and KEEP IT OFF!"

So, after I read and re-read the Attack Diet phase of his plan, I started on August 1, 2011. I lost 14 pounds in 10 days! Without suffering! I was not hungry.

(And, I'll tell you that because I was not very hungry, a lot of those days were probably 400 calories, so I think you will be fine. If you stall in your weight loss, up the calories by adding in more protein or fat free, lactose free milk and Greek yogurt)

By the end of August I was down 24 pounds. Then the losing really, really slowed down although I kept losing inches and going down in clothing size. When I started on Aug. 1st I was wearing a very tight size 18 jeans. (In my avatar picture, I was wearing a size 16!) NOW I'm wearing a very comfy, getting loose, size 12 jeans in the same brand/style from the same store so I know I'm smaller.

The end of December I was only down 28 pounds and that's when I discovered the JUDD forum and thought I'd give that a try. Considering that I took the whole month of February off because of family tragedies and traveling a lot (and did not gain! Yay!) I think I'm doing well because I've lost 8 more pounds.

So, I'm doing my own hybrid right now. It's off and on Dukan/Stillman with the calorie cycling of JUDD and adding in occasional non-starchy veggie days and some times a slice of double fiber bread or brown basmatti rice.

Weight loss naturally slows down as you get closer to goal. I already knew it would. I'm tall with a large frame so 178 is a really good and healthy weight for me. I'm thinking I will probably be in a size 10 by the time I get there. But I'm in no hurry. This is not a race for me.

I don't want to suffer. I want to enjoy life and food but I want to learn to maintain my losses and continue on to goal. I think I'm doing that.
