Hi Kiley,
thanks for the lead on the shake. I think Dr. Stillman would have approve. In his book he actually has several other diets he recommends to try if you get bored or are dealing with different health issue. Getting bored can knock me off a diet fast. I also have found a shake I like but it has 3 carbs. It taste great and is at Costco. It's called premierprotein. I'm gonna try yours too.

But I recoverd from my slip up and have lost 7 pounds since starting with you all. I did a really low cal day after my slip up and I think that was like doing Judd. So it didn't hurt to bad.

Chessie I think defaulting to Atkins is great when we are out on the town. I'm having it easier on weekend at this time because my hubby is dieting too. I don't have him saying what's for dinner or where are we going out to eat. It is a vacation from constantly planning food. He is on the medifast. I just have one lean green meal to prepare at night and man that's it. On the weekends he is modifing his diet to eat more like me and is saving the medifast so if will last longer. Expensive product. I'm planning to use some to wean into normal eating.

Shannon, how are you?

WOO HOO-- 7 pounds in just a few days--- that is AWESOME!!!

Wonderful that hubby is dieting alongside you. I've tried Medifast before--yah, I could not stick to it. I enjoy a shake every now and then, but need more food to CHEW...LOL. But I know it's a pretty well-respected program. Sounds like both of you are well on your way!

Cami- Welcome to your weight loss fest! Its gonna be an interesting trip!!!

Kiley- Im so happy about that 7 pound loss. That is definiely a nice kick-off!

Chessie- I agree that doing Atkins is better than going off Stillman entirely in special situations. Did you really get cottage cheese at a restaurant? That was a nice find!

As for me, I weighed in this am at 135.4. I guess its not the end of the world, but until these hormones even out, Im gonna have to trust the ketosis is effective. My belly is less swollen (Im guessing my pain was the cyst breaking) than last night. I feel thinner, but my waist is up to 29.5 inches..up a half inch. Im not giving up, especially since if I went off this diet and ate "normally" Id see 140 in less than a week. What a mess!

I ate chicken and 2 link sausages for breakfast, 4oz of wild pink salmon for lunch, and more chicken for dinner. I drank coffee, some water, and thats it. No thats not it..I made the egg drop soup without looking at the recipe. I boiled 2 cups water, 3 eggs, and 2 bouilion cubes. Then I added more water until the saltiness subsided. It was pretty dang good, and I will be making it again! I am going to look for a lower sodium and perhaps organic option for the cubes.. I didnt like eating all those ingredients..

I know what you mean about eating normally and going up.. I almost caved yesterday but the thought of going up 2 pounds stopped me..
well I was down 1 pound today.. finally!!
I need to eat chicken and tuna and eggs today. I get in the bad habit of not eating instead of eating the food I should.. it just sounds gross... but i dont want to eat too little then keeping it off will be a bear..
Has anyone here done the Dukan diet??? it is very similar to stillmans except you can have fat free yogurt..

I haven't done Dukan, but a coworker of mine was doing it to get in shape for her wedding (which she ended up canceling, but that's another story!) She wasn't really heavy at all to begin with (was a dancer) but she lost about 8-10 pounds over 2 months and looked good. Don't think it comes off as fast as Stillman, but it might be more enjoyable for ya?

I've also seen a thread under "other plans" of women who are doing it too!

yeah.. it seems like a lot of thinking.. you eat different things on different days.. thinking I will just stick to stillmans till I can not take it any more!!
I would love to stay on this until I hit the 130's.. then maybe add a few veggies and take my time getting to 125 so it actually sticks this time
I really need to start running again also..
Any runners in this group???

Hi ladies...I have been struggling for a year to lose 10lbs. I'm small.. 5'0 and 110...My ideal weight is 98-100. I have tried everything (atkins, paleo, Dukan and now hcg) and my weight keeps bouncing up and down. Bloodwork is normal. I'm 38. I'm sticking with the hcg for the time being...another week to go on protocol, and then I plan to incorporate Stillmans/Dukan.
I lost weight on Dukan last year...the pp days are similiar to Stillman, except Dukan allows ff yogurt...yum! I love the support on these boards. Here's to getting skinny for spring/summer!!!

Ha ha I did a 5k once... about 10 years ago! lol Seriously though I've always admired runners, I just don't seem to have the stamina or build for it? I prefer group exercise classes at the gym like kickboxing, Zumba--or my beloved home workout DVDs. And I LOVE outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, kayaking, etc.

Today, I feel a bit better and am still sticking with the diet. Hopefully, Ill be on track weight-wise soon...hopefully Ill weigh in tomorrow and record whatever pops up. I had aboud 1 cup of chicken to day, some mustard, a few almonds (oops), and egg drop soup. Ive had a few ice coffees too. Those take the edge off! I remember looking into Dukan at one point. I still have the oatmeal I purchased from it...oat something... Otherwise, its Stillman's with a twist.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
Entering my 3rd lean meat and hb egg day. Lost 2.6 the first day, but then up 0.4 this AM.
My diet has been perfect, so maybe salt and close to T-O-M...?

Still, happy with a -2.2 and gonna have a good day. Hope you guys do too!

Now off to finish my coffee and then to save a few lives...! ;-)

Great Start Cami,
Progress feels so good!

Well i do have to confess to you all, that my plan is to do several straight Stillmans days (with my 3 carb shakes) but on Monday - Wednesday i add a romaine lettuce salad and asparagus. One little bunch of asparagus has 3 carbs and 1 half a cup of asparagus has 3. But I had half a bunch yesterday. I'm hoping that mixing this up a little will keep me from going into meat fatigue and

I also do a metamucil on the thursdays to Saturdays. I don't like potty problems.

Down another pound...so close to the 40's.. only .8 to go.... cant wait.. then my next goal is to get into the 130's and I actually feel really good in the 130's ( its been 4 years since I have been there..yikes!!)
So i have not been sticking to Stillmans.. I had almonds yesterday..pepporoni with cream cheese.. but I am losing.
so I think if I stick to stillmans and will lose quickly. I need to do 3 day strict Stillmans and then weigh in... hoping for 3 pounds gone.that would be awesome
And it is going to be 66 degrees here in upstate NY today..I will be walking/jogging
Have a great day everyone!!!!

Yeah Shannon, recover counts! So does not gaining

Have you ever been a runner Chessie? Just curious, I know that really burns the fat, but can be hard on the knees. I'm just now starting to actually get on the treadmill so you know my exercise level so far. Yesterday I did 13 minutes.

tonight is our bible study night and we meet at Ihop. I'm gonna probable have their Ceasar Salad without the dressing or something like that. I will try not to eat to much.

Frances, I get in moods where I want to be a runner so I sign up for some type of race..5k or something and that makes me train so I dont make a fool of myself..lol... my last one I did was almost 2 years ago( cant believe its been that long!!!) but it was a relay race and I had 3 legs of it.. one was 2.4 miles..then 5 miles and then 3 miles.. ran them all within 24 hours.. it was really fun it was a group of 12 of us..called the ragnar relay. we ran from Woodstock to NYC.. back then I could run 5 miles without feeling like I wanted to die...
the day after the race I never ran again..sad I know!!
The saddest part is I was running everyday to get ready for the race and I did not lose any weight because I ate to make up for the extra cals.. but I did get smaller and was more toned. But if I did low carb when I was training I would have hit my 125 goal easy.
So I really want to run again... I need motivation!! the same girls are doing the ragnar relay in Cape Cod and they keep asking me and I am too chicken to say yes..

Hi Guys,
Hope everyone is on track or coming back to the track.

Speaking of track, I did walk on the treadmill 11 minutes today. Chessie, i want to work my way into running 10 eventually. I think that run sounds really good with your friends. But I know it's a real time consumer for a person. but if you really want to just do it. This time with a good diet. You'll be skinny in no time.

I've been looking into the Judds diet. That one looks like it could work really good with Stillmans. Stillmans on the down days, whatever on the up days. I am gonna use it for the rest of this month, only when or if I slip off of Stillmans. I don't actually want to plan to slip off. But slips happen

Well, down a total of 3.6 lbs this week. Yay!

Today has been more of an Atkins day instead of Stillman's...hoping it doesn't adversely effect the scale tomorrow...!

Remember to "Spring Forward" your clocks tomorrow!

today is my upday and I just had a Rueben Sandwich. I have decided on my updays just to keep my carbs at 100 or less. On the down days Stillmans. I will see tomorrow how hard it is to do a stillmans day after so many carbs today. But a report on the Rueben,,,,,,Yum

Im back from a small vacation, and while I didnt do Stillmans, I am proud to say that the scale is tipping in my favor! Im sure Ill be posting a loss tomorrow, and its about friggin time! Im probably still in ketosis despite eating more than I should and not all meat.. I have a gyn appt at the end of April..busy office I guess. Anyhow, I will post tomorrow with a new weight!

Hi Guys,
today was a pretty good Stillmans day. i just had the shake, chicken and chicken soup for a total of 3 carbs.

Tomorrow is my up day, but I'm not going over 50 carbs because I just had scale shock today from my 100 carb day yesterday. I realize that happens with the Judd type of diet, but i need more encouragement than that right now

glad to hear your gonna run Chessie. So early in the morning too. Shannon that's great you did so good on a mini vacation

Makes me really want to to stick to stillmans today,
Shannon cant wait to see your new low weight today!!!
Frances I am curious to see how your up day effects your weight. I am hoping to do this to lose the last 10.. I dont care if it takes 3 months to lose the last 10 because I want it to stick this time!!
Busy day today...talk to you all later.

Chessie, you're inspiring. I may lace up my tennis shoes today.

Also, my happy report:
I'm now officially down 5 pounds since I started last week!

I had two days where I went up a half lb but the next day it would come back off. Admittedly, I'm doing Dukan more than Stills because I have started eating 2 Greek yogurts a day. It seems to have accelerated me, so Ima gonna go with it. :-)

I'm trying my hand at making Greek yogurt at home today...will let y'all know how it goes!
Back to the grindstone tomorrow. Gotta start getting food ready to take to the hospital the next three days.

This week I'm giving Judds a shot. Next week who knows. 1700/500 or less
Still gonna stick to soup for any night eating needed.

Sunday---170---DD
Monday---165---1500 cal. 100 carbs
Tuesday--170---DD----600 Cal. 3 carbs.
Wed.------165---UD
Thursday--
Friday---
Saturday--

You can see my body doesn't quite know what to make of this Judds, but I've been enjoying it so far. I decided on my Updays to do only 50 carbs and on my DD to do 3 carbs (my shake) and the rest meat. When i did the 100 carbs i did get tired that day. But I loved eating that rueben. I think I'll just splurge on mondays and make that a 100 carb day. Mondays is weigh in days.
