Hey Yam-Yam, 3.6 lbs is not THAT much for 11 days, lol I could probably gain 11 lbs in 11 days. But I'm glad you're back!
I'm happy to say I made it through this weekend without going off menu, although I probably did overdo the chicken breast in order to avoid eating other stuff. I got down to 130 on Sunday morning, then after Sunday was 131.2 this morning, probably shows that there is a such thing as TOO much.

PK: I don't think you can overdo it on chicken. lol. seriously. In the long run, you will lose weight that way. I agree about my gain not being as bad as it could have been. Not doing my regular weight training though. So, probably losing muscle. boo-hoo. Ahhhh well. The battle continues....Fight, fight, fight!

How did you know? Scale was down -3 this morning so all that chicken paid off yesterday. Looks like I'm losing the water retention. Yay!

BTW: That puts me close to my stats but not quite there yet. I like not changing my stats when I go up. Anyone else find it discouraging to do that? Just keep it at the low number and get back there!!!

I'm back from vacation. Oh! what a vacation! After we arrived at my friend's, the 4 year old got sick. A trip to the dr - pneumonia. Then the 1 year old and the 3 year old got sick. Then I got sick. The 3 year old and I are having a tough time shaking it. She because she won't take her medicine, me because I have a repressed immune system. Awful does not begin to describe how I feel. And frustrated. I had such lovely plans. Alas.

hey guys
mind if I join you guys?, I started stillmans two days back but have not been able to stop myself from giving in to my cravings. I eat normal stillmans all day. i.e, two boiled eggs in the morning, some stewed lamb in lunch and grilled chicken breasts in dinner. But that's where i mess up i ate 20 grams almonds day before yesterday and last night i had cream with splenda and cocoa mixed in it. Ofcourse there was no damage done but i didnt loose any lbs. When i cheat I cheat with low carb treats which are ok in atkins but not in stillmans. hmmm but today I have decided there are going to be no more errors on my part and I am going to do strict stillmans until i loose most or part of my weight and then I go back to atkins. Needed support that's why joined this forum. you guys are all so great. I would love to have some support from you all, infact i need support from you guys to get to my goal

I put it in the medicine cabinet. I must have been in need of a manicure, took off my watch, put it on the shelf, cut my nails, put the clipper in front of my watch and the rest is history! Fortunately, my nails needed clipped again!

Anam!! Sometimes in the beginning or re-start times, you need to kind of ease in to things. I don't think those are bad cheats. Maybe you can mess around with alternatives to the cream. My thing right now (having it right now! and every day!) is to heat up a big mug of water in the microwave for 1 minute 35 seconds. Then I pour in one packet of Nestle's powdered FF, SF (20 calorie) Hot milk chocolate mix. I add one teaspoon of SF cappuccino mix (35 calories) and stir it with a little wire whisk. While it's still piping hot I stir in either 1/2 or 1 teaspoon of EVCO. I love coconut oil! Yum! This is so filling and satisfying I cannot believe it.

Sometimes I'll have 2, but usually one is enough to do the trick.

CO kills the appetite and hot chocolate makes me feel like I'm doing a big ole cheat.

Another thing that is great is fat free, plain, Greek yogurt. I put 8 ounces in a cup, add a bit of Splenda and then either add vanilla extract or drizzle in some Hershey's nonfat chocolate syrup and stir it up. There is something about Greek yogurt that burns off the fat and pounds for me. Especially if I have it right before I go to bed.

Some of us highly recommend Pierre Dukan's book, "The Dukan Diet". His Attack Diet is exactly like Stillman except he allows the fat free yogurt and fat free milk. And, if you are really having carb cravings, go for some non-starchy vegetables or oat bran. Just don't go wild on them in the first part where you are looking for a decisive first weight loss.

Glad you joined us!

I've been reading a lot of the older Stillman posts, and wondered whether any of you heed Stillman's advice to spread your intake out to 5-6 smaller meals?

Progress to date on Atkins/Stillman:
Week 1.
Sat 1/28 (148): planned 7 days Atkins Induction (no dairy) - stuck to plan
Total loss by end of week 2.5
Week 2.
Sat 2/4 (145.5): planned 7 days Atkins Induction (start adding dairy) - lost it Super Bowl Sunday (regained 3lbs), found Stillman info, revised plan to 4 days Stillman + 3 days Atkins Induction - stuck to revised plan
Total loss by end of week 4+
Week 3.
Sat 2/11 (144-): planned CAD for Valentine's Day + 4 days Stillman + 2 days Atkins Induction - lapsed to Atkins on Monday, stuck to CAD on Valentine's Day, hoping to stay on plan rest of week

No, I don't. My problem is that if I eat when I'm not hungry, especially if it's too early in the day, it seems to wake up the hunger monster and all my cravings. Then I want to just keep eating.

In the mornings I usually have coffee with half and half and then lots of water. Then when I start feeling hungry, I have an egg or a little Greek yogurt or a piece of leftover chicken.

I usually cook a big dinner at night because DH and I always eat together. So, I make something Stillman-friendly so I can have a big portion and make a side dish or 2 for DH.

I don't either. I do well with 3 meals. If I need a snack, which only happens in the beginning, I'll have a small one. But my body does not like the tapas style of eating.

nope, eat to live, not live to eat. Today I had a big lunch, we skipped out to an auction, no time for breakfast. Let your body find hunger again, not a clock.

OK, I'm easily thrilled so gotta share this.

I ran quick to the store, wearing my sweats. I just needed to pick up some ground turkey for dinner. While I was not looking a gal I've known for years but have not seen in some weeks bumped into me.

"Wow! Wow!!" She said. "You have lost a lot of weight!!! You are soooo SKINNY!!!" She actually used the word "skinny!"

She asked me if I was doing it on purpose and what was I doing.

We have talked lots over the years about weight loss. She has lots to lose still.

Anyhoo, could not help smiling all the way home. I'm showing!!!
