Happy New Year, Stillman Peeps!
Nermo: I know exactly how you feel. I got that way for a while and could not stand eggs, cottage cheese or chicken because that's what I pretty much stuck to before to lose on Stillman. Now, since I've read Dukan's book and feel he is the re-incarnation of Dr. Stillman and has advanced and improved with new science, (whew! long sentence! ) -- anyway, I have broadened my horizons. And, I've broadened my understanding of the way Stillman's LC plan works. So, as CC said, Greek yogurt! Yum. So creamy and smooth. I eat FF, plain and flavor it with Splenda and sometimes a dash of vanilla extract. It's great w/ FF, SF jello. It tastes like sour cream, so you can brown up some LF ground turkey breast (I use EVOO to brown it in) and put dollups of the Greek yogurt on it, mix it around and it tastes like strogonoff. Add some sliced muschrooms when you are cooking the meat. Yum. Put minced onions, garlic, parsley, oregano, Herbs de Provance, sage, anything you like. I love salmon with tons of dried dill sprinkled on it and baked in the oven. I eat tilapia almost every day. If I'm hungry like "right now", I take a frozen tilapia fillet, put it in a Zip-n-Steam bag and stick it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Then I mash it up with a little Best Foods mayo (the kind that says it's made w/ Omega 3 oil). I've been known to toss a filet mignon in the toaster oven and broil it or take a top sirloin steak, put some steak rub on, spray it with Pam and cook it in the George Foreman for 6 minutes. So perfect and satisfying. Do listen to your body. I remembered that one time I was doing Stillmans a number of years ago and I had lost 15 pounds in two weeks being very strict with the eggs, chicken, cottage cheese. One night I steamed some brussel sprouts for DH. They looked so good I could not resist and I ate 2 of them. I felt so bad and thought I had totally blown it. I kept remembering Stillman saying one discretion, any bite of any carb would set you back 2 days. Thinking the brussel sprouts had blown it, I gave up and thought I can't do this. It wrecked me. I don't think that way any more!!! I listen to my body. If my body says you need to eat some lettuce or celery or something, I do. I have learned that our brains NEED a certain amount of complex carbs after a while to give us a sense of well-being and they help us to think. That's one of the things I like about Dukan's progressive LC plan where he goes into a mild carb cycling WOE. You add green, non-starchy veggies every other day. One day you eat pure protein, the next you can have some veggies (preferably raw or just slightly cooked) if you want. Or you can do 2 days protein and one day adding in veggies or whatever works for you. It's all good! OK, gotta go make some food for DH. He is starving. He's getting scrambled eggs!! BBL

Actually Dukan---minus his oatbran and very very little dairy-only skimmed milk in tea and a yoghurt once in a while--- was how I lost most of my weight, though I didn't know it at the time, I thought it was low fat Atkins or a kind of Stillmans mix!!!

GT: Endorphins and meat!!!! mmmmmmm
![]() CC: Yes! I knew in my head that there was some kind of hybrid WOE that would work! you did it! ![]() I had never tried fat free, lactose free milk until I read Dukan. Then when he said something about lactose being bad for weight loss, because it's a kind of sugar/carb that gets into your system fast I went for it. Love it now! And I drink it with abandon. I love milk. I lose fast when I drink it right before I go to bed. Also had read the same thing about lactose when I was researching powdered protein. Whey Isolate means they separate out the lactose. Interesting stuff. DH is happily eating his eggs with ham. I had some eggs. I scrambled 'em in EVOO. I'm not afraid of Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil any more. I use it to cook fish, eggs, chicken, whatever. It does not interfere w/ LC. |

Happy New Yr. Ladies!
Let's knock it out of the ballpark these next few weeks. I'm hoping to get back to normal in 3. I was a lunatic, drinking and eating corn chips like I could give a care. Well, I'm back solid. I love Stills-all lean meat- as it gets the job done and quick. Have a wonderful day ladies. Hugs, B ![]() |
