Thanks Getting There! I thought so, but I wasn't sure. Fabulous - I know that doing this will kill the cravings, I'm hoping it will work. I had the most delicious broiled lambchops EVER. I cut off all the fat I could and I'm now drinking water and I have my vitmins lined up - anything else I need to know?

Many thanks!

Hi CC - this would be REALLY nice as I am now 56 and have been going through menopause since I turned 51. I am so tired of it. I take profema which helps a bit, but it would be nice to be rid of them once and for all. I'll never know if I have gray hair because I dye mine at the first hint of my roots showing! Now to lose the (insert your favorite curse word here) weight!!!!

Ok googled about the grey hair thing and apparentky people are saying they're noticing a reduction in it!! Cool! I don't have any (still too young! Ha!) and hoping I've my Mum's genes cos she's just turned 60 ( but we don't say'!!) and she has none! She's a lot blonder than me though.
People have also said their hair feels curlier--hmmm mine is wavy and it takes and holds a good curl. I do notice that it kinda curls well by itself if I dry it naturally and just twirl it round my fingers--but I thought that was cos I had 'trained' it cos I always use tongs or velcro rollers (tis a really good look in the mornings!!)

Mim, hi! I have a major addiction to sugar. So for me it's going to be one minute at a time and perhaps an oz of protein if I start craving sugar. I can see that working. But I am so very, very tired of being heavy... I just want to do this finally.

Years ago I knew a woman who was at least as fat as me. She lost the weight, which was very surprising to me. Her son one day mentioned that his mom was at exercise class and I asked him if she exercised because she lost so much weight. He said she started losing weight because she started exercising! Exercise came first! So, I am going to start exercising. Honest. I am going to do something everyday except Sunday. And Iwill post everyday with what I did!

Getting there, if you're near County Cork could you please wave hello for me? My grandparents were from Cork, though I've never been there...

Forget going gray! I am determined to die as a blond, I don't care what my natural color is!!!

Thanks, GT! Phew! I'm not crazy about tuna, but I love lots of other fish.

Looks like I need to do a bit more protein shopping tomorrow! I have eggs, chicken and beef in the house, but I will switch up with fish for dinner. YUM.

I have decided to buy a GF type grill. Maybe even a GF! I used to have one and I used it for chicken, burgers and fish. It made things easy when I was in a hurry. I swore that I would not buy anything else because I have so much stuff. But I need this, don't you think?

Thanks, Mim! Yes, let's do this already. If memory serves me correctly, you lose all your cravings for sugar and junk when you do this hard core. Right? So once you're "stopped" as I like to say, then the trick is to keep "stopped". For me, that will mean getting the meats that I love and not compromising on quality. If I love my food, life is good. I can't see doing this any other way. Any thoughts?

Oh too funny - I lived in Frankfurt for 2 years when I was very young. My father worked for the Agency of International Development. Don't even want to talk about the goodies one could get... I remember my sugar addiction had lots of fun there!!!!

You are right - the cravings go away. And eating the (meat) food you love is key. When I go off plan it is because I am in an emotional funk, not because I'm craving sweets.

I am stuff junkie, so yes, of course you need a gf grill. Mim, You need things in your life that's going to make staying on plan easy and do-able. I need to work on this myself as I sort of decided to start this on a moment's notice. So tomorrow morning will be devoted to making food to bring to work with me (I have a fridge/microwave there) so I have no excuses!!!!! Fail to plan, plan to fail - simple!!!!!

I am the queen of emotional breakdowns... and it doesn't take much. I think the answer is to have protein on hand at all times and when you hit an emotional funk (and you know you will) get some delightful protein you LOVE and eat it immediately. At least that MY plan....
