On CC's posts----no we don't need carbs to survive-they really are the enemy--nothing good can come by eating them. To whomever said that they need oatmeal to give them energy---I think Aloha(Lindsey)--I know you're job means you have to workout hard--but you don't need the oats etc for energy. If you think they are giving you energy or you need to eat them because your blood sugar is low--it's just psychological. I know that might sound harsh but it's true. I've been there!!! They might give you a burst of energy after you eat them but that is only because your insulin has spiked--and later it will come crashing down and the cycle will start again. The reason you're feeling tired is because your calories are too low-period. I've been doing a lot of reading about lc/hf diets( I'm not as good as CC posting the links!) and there is nothing new in lc diets. The research dates back to the 1700s. Carbrohydrates really are the enemy!!! For your health and your figure!!
You can eat oats once in a while if you like them-( I do, I find them real 'comfort' food)-you'll burn them off when working out--but you don't 'need' them.
I've stopped trying to tell people this cos it just sounds like we're in some sort of a cult!!
GT - are you ok?? hope it wasn't anything serious?! Poor thing!!

Thaks for your added insight on not needing carbs! You have no idea how much it helps hearing this from all of you! I'm on day 2 of no carbs and feel great!

Happy birthday Mar-have a good one!
Makeme-glad that everything is ok with you.
Welcome back Mim and Im2-I agree with Makeme--how did you do a shake diet for 6months---with that willpower, Stills should be a breeze!!
Those OAP texts were hilarious!!

Strangely, I thought that might be the case before you mentioned it, don't know why?? I am so, so sorry GT, I really am...hope you are OK. 4 months is quite away on...happened to me at 4and a half months (years ago)...went to the hospital one day and no heartbeat. So hope you and your partner are OK. I'll say a little prayer.

Dr Oz’s show on September 22, 2011 is called “Dying To Be The Fattest Woman In The World.” Doctor Oz will introduce us to a 700 pound woman who wants to be the World’s Fattest Woman. She currently weighs more than 700 pounds actually and she keeps gaining weight. She eats between 20,000 and 30,000 calories per day. And if you think that she wants to lose weight and get healthy, it seems like the answer is no! She claims to actually enjoy being fat. Plus, apparently there is a business in being fat. Several men pay her money to watch her eat.

why don't they just call these reality shows 'People Are Stupid'???????

oldie but goodie........
Mike Monsoor...

Was Awarded "The Congressional Medal Of Honor" Last Week,
For Giving His Life In Iraq, As He Jumped On and Covered With His Body, A Live Hand Grenade,
Saving The Lives Of A Large Group Of Navy Seals That Was Passing By!
During Mike Monsoor's Funeral,
At Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California ..
The Six Pallbearers Removed The Rosewood Casket From The Hearse,
And Lined Up On Each Side Of Mike Monsoor's Casket were His Family Members, Friends, Fellow Sailors, And Well-wishers.
The Column Of People Continued From The Hearse, All The Way To The Grave Site.
What The Group Didn't Know At The Time Was,
Every Navy Seal
(45 To Be Exact)
who Mike Monsoor Saved That Day Was Scattered Through-Out That Column of people!
As The Pallbearers Carried The Rosewood Casket
Down The Column Of People To The Grave Side.
The Column Would Collapse..
Forming A Group Of People Who Followed Behind.
Every Time The Rosewood Casket Passed A Navy Seal,
He Would Remove His Gold Trident Pin From His Uniform,
And Slap It Down Hard, Causing The Gold Trident Pin To Embed Itself
Into The Top Of The Wooden Casket!
Then The Navy Seal Would Step Back From The Column, And Salute!
Now For Those,
Who Don't Know What A Trident Pin Is,
Here Is The Definition!
~

After One Completes The Basic Navy Seals Program (Which Lasts For Three Weeks)
And Is Followed By Seal Qualification Training
(Which Is 15 More Weeks Of Training)
Necessary To Continue Improving Basic Skills And To Learn New Tactics And Techniques
Required For An Assignment To A Navy Seal Platoon.
After successful completion,
Trainees Are Given Their Naval Enlisted Code,
And Are Awarded The Navy Seal Trident Pin.
With This Gold Pin They Are Now Officially Navy Seals!
It Was Said,
That You Could Hear Each Of The 45 Slaps From Across The Cemetery!
By The Time The Rosewood Casket Reached The Grave Site,
It Looked As Though It Had A Gold Inlay From The 45 Trident Pins That Lined The Top!
This Was A Fitting End To An Eternal Send-Off For A Warrior Hero!

~I Am Proud Of All The Branches Of Our Military..
