CC, so glad you are OK! You have a generator??? When we have power cuts we have to rely on candles. Must have been scary for ya. Don't think I'd deal well in a situation like that. I live by the Thames and I sometimes wonder what would happen if the barrier gave way...not likely I know but still. When I last saw the news the hurricane was reported to be less severe than first thought, that's good news but not so for those poor individuals who lost their lives. If you read this anytime soon, how is it where you are now?

We are back home. Seems we left for nothing. Better safe than sorry I guess.
A lot of leaves and a few small branches in the yard. I hope everyone else in her path fared as well as we did.

I failed miserably dieting in the hotel. Just could not gag down cold canned meats for 2 days.

I will know how bad I did tomorrow morning when I get on the scale.

O sorry MMS, I know it's late...I thought you would have retired already.....

OMG yes we have a generator! The town I live in has only about 750 people, so the power companies prioritize the larger more populated areas first. As we say here on the ranch, first ones to lose power, last to have it back on! We got one soon after moving here.

We had major flooding in May so learned first hand what it looks like..the road one mile east of my house one lane washed away almost to the center line....and I had to drive over it to get home. THAT was scary.

There has been one reported dam failure in Massachusettes so far. We are about five miles east of the Hudson river, which is slated to crest either tomorrow or even Tuesday.

As far as we know the roads ared passable as we've seen an electric company truck and a volunteer fireperson on the roads.

Only ten deaths have been reported due to the storm. They evacuated like mad, thankfully.

I know that kind of location. We lived out in farmland when Isabel hit. We had no power for a week. That suuuuuuuuuucked.

I hope you do not end up with a flood. What a pain, having to worry about that after the hurricane has passed.

This morning I am wishing I would have ate the cold canned meats... 3 days off diet equaled 7 pounds gained. I know it is mostly bloat and will come off as fast as it came on. Just sucks to see it go up that much... wow.

How bad do you think this recipe is...?

1 egg
1 oz. fat free cream cheese
3 tbsp flax meal
1/2 tsp. baking powder
cinnamon
splenda
SF syrup (20 cals, 0 net carbs)

It's a "one-minute muffin" and it is amazing. I still lost weight this morning, but I am wondering whether I can incorporate this into Stillman's more often? Also, the flax has lots of fiber - a good thing on Stills

Also, do you think tofu is okay on Stills? I made some sauteed in my homemade teriyaki sauce last night... I am getting SO bored with chicken that I have started eating tofu... depressing!

I am really dragging ass today. I feel like I could sleep all day. Headache is back. Typical first day crap. I will feel fine in a day or two. Wonder if the kids will let me take a nap.

They should not even be here. They cancelled school due to power outages.

It sounds yummy. The flax have many carbs in it? I have never eaten it before. I have no idea about tofu, never got the nerve up to try it. Give me a couple weeks. I may get desperate too!

0 net carbs in the flax.

It's SO yummy... you mix it all up and put it in a mug or ramekin, microwave for 2 minutes... pop it out... drizzle some splenda and SF syrup over it... It's amazing... the consistency is just like a muffin (well, kind of...) and the syrup and cinnamon makes it sweet and YUMMY!

well, it's been 24 hours and no sign of power......they won't even lie to us on the website as to when power might be restored

so wondering what to do for dinner (no stove, no micro-too much wattage; the gen can't handle it) but I did dig out my waffle iron, I can flip the plates and it turns into a griddle.

Mom loves fish and never gets it at home, I took some filets out.....

what do you season your fish with? I have some flounder my husband wants me to cook. I refuse to eat it. I tell him it looks like a freak of nature, not a fish.

Anyway, mine did not go down so I went to my GP who is concerned and has arranged for some tests to be done. Thing is my sister (we share the same father) had lymphoma when she was 29. She kept going to the doctors and they kept telling her that there was nothing wrong but she kept insisting that she did not feel right. Five doctors later and as many months they found that she did have cancer. By this time it had spread to most of her glands. She went through chemo and had the glands removed and so far the cancer has not returned. However, she has been told that because they got the cancer at a late stage and because she is so young it will, at some point in her life come back and when it does it will come back with a vengeance and there will be nothing they can do for her. My doc said lymphoma runs in families, so here I sit, a bag of nerves. Anyway, I screwed up my diet that day...I ate everything and anything naughty...even had a few shots of brandy...OK maybe more than a few...figured if I'm gonna go, I gonna go fat and happy. Today though, I'm back on track... lean meat, salad and a little light cheese and of course lots of water. Sorry for the depressing post... CC, DD has put a lot of stuff on Ebay for me...Think we have listed 17 items and counting.
Oh Makeme I'm really really sorry you're going through this. I hope you've got good news in the meantime.

I too worked out and the more people told me I was too thin the more I got a buzz...If I thought I was gaining I would chuck up. Then one day I was at a friends house and I caught a glimpse of myself in her mirror...I was wearing a long black dress. I looked so ridiculous, no backside at all and my bones were sticking out all over the place. Don't know why I never noticed before. I felt so embarrassed walking from her house to mine, really conscious. It took forever trying to put the weight back on...I remember I could not sleep on my side because the bones in my legs would dig in to each other, I even lost fat from the soles of my feet. Today I still sometimes throw up...not often, maybe as little as 4 or five times a year, then I realise what I am doing and where it will lead and I stop. I am not trying to make this about me, but just trying to make you know that I have been there and I know how you feel. It is a problem GT and it has the potential of spiraling way out of control...nip it in the bud before things get really bad. You are not fat GT, you just feel fat. If you want to be lighter fine but be realistic and don't go beyond it. Working out excessively is pretty much the same as throwing up if you know what I mean. If you over do it your body will go in to starvation mode and you know what happens then. You have done so well losing the weight, don't be afraid that you will put it all back on, I don't believe you will. I really don't believe that Stillman's is a diet forever and I also believe that when one stops Stillmans and starts eating a healthy balanced diet they will gain a little while the body gets use to eating carbs again (I'm talking healthy carbs here) and realises that it is no longer in starvation mode, coz let's face the fact, Stillman's can be pretty low in calories and was not designed for the long term. This is why I plan to lose 6 or 7lb below my goal weight. I hate that you are feeling bad especially because you have worked so hard...I hope you don't mind me saying this but you are showing all the signs of an eating disorder and like I said, I've been there, so I know. My advice (I know you did not ask for it) is to limit your exercise to a reasonable amount each week. Never throw up, no matter how bad you feel and make sure you get enough calories in, so that your body does not think its starving...might be worth thinking about some form of counselling. Hope you don't hate me for this.
Reading your other post puts my self induldgent rubbish into perspective.
I can't believe someone of your height weighed so little. Eek. At my lightest as a teenager I weighed just around 6st--and that was not a pretty sight--and I'm much shorter than you!! I've had the full spectrum of EDs-oh yeah! Anorexic as a teen--then started throwing up to control my weight. Did that pretty much all through college-then interestingly enough after my Dad died I stopped-literally just like that. I think I was too exhausted to even think about it. I hadn't done it for years. And when I started Stills I never even had the urge to do it. Now it's like all the thoughts I had as a teen etc are back. It's sh###. I know I'm doing crazy things, I just can't stop!!

I had cervical cancer 5 years ago. I told my husband if it ever comes back I am going to start smoking again and eat anything and everything I want, whenever I want.
Keep well

That must have been an awful time for you and your husband.
