Speaking of HK--I tried to get the new HK Vans! On Schuh.co.uk Aaaaaghh!! Stupid things were sold out. Then they were just back in a 5(my size) Didn't get them cos I was on my way out the door, said I'd get them this morning----and yup you guessed it, they're sold out. Aaaaaaagh

Has anyone here ever done a three day egg fast? I was on day two of one today, but I just ate a string cheese and a greek yogurt so I guess the fast is off, lol. I was just curious to see if anyone had tried it and what the results were. Anyone???

This week didn't go so well for me. I am only about 1.4 lbs. down for the entire week (Friday to Friday). I must admit that I am a bit disappointed because I stuck to plan (mostly) during the holiday weekend and I have been eating strictly on plan this week. Even attempted an egg fast to try to get down some, but I haven't seen the results that I thought I would.
TOM started Wednesday, so maybe that is why I haven't seen a bigger loss. Right now, I am eying my son's half-eaten pb&j sandwich trying to talk myself out of stealing a few bites. My willpower is waning...... |

Out of curiosity I am wondering why you guys are saying to pass on the weight training? As the goal is to lose fat and not just weight, I would think weight training from the start would yield better results than just cardio?

@Hazel That's what I was thinking and I know Cardio alone won't give me the tone I want and I know weight training would help me to avoid lots of flabby skin. Besides building muscle is a great way to lose inches and reshaping as I lose weight even if the scale doesn't move.

Hey gals! Stayed strong today. Took the kids to the "corn fest". . You know. . a reason for all fast food fair vendors to push the elephant ears. . popcorn, candy. . O my goodness. . however. . I am proud to admit. I didn't eat a bite! Sniffed a lot. . but no bites. . Just for that. I deserve to lose something. .
Also, I was quick to point out to hubby. .last year at this time. . we were also NO carbing. . it. Funny how a year can change a person. . I made an observation today, too.. A very scary one. . I am the same weight I was some time ago. . but my "weight" is distributed much different. . I feel and look more bloated. . Like my stomach is higher. . does that makes sense? I absolutely hate it cuz there aint any delicate way to hide it except maternity type wear!! Could it be age. . or just that I regained the same 10 to 15 pounds over again? I'm really frustrated. The past 6 months have been a killer. . I've been fairly good the past two weeks and I'm back where I started. . I think I gotta up my thyroid meds. . One more week of being good.. .

An observation on the weight distribution thing too! Iswear my boobs have got bigger! No kidding!! I wouldn't say a whole cup size but they're definitely filling out my bras more, and I had a dress that I really was thinking of getting slightly 'tucked' at the bust because it wasn't sitting right because it was definitely made for a bigger bust(kind of a 50s style). Well I put it on a couple of days ago and definitely no tucking needed!!!
It's seriously weird! ( and even though I thought I'd like a bigger bust, anything getting bigger unnerves me slightly!) Maybe it is true that after a while you do begin to lose the 'dieted' look. Maybe I'll get some chubby cheeks next!!

Hi guys...on my BB, still without internet and its driving me crazy. My new router arrived today and my new provider will be here on Monday so I should be up and running soon...I have not even had a land line...talk about the stone ages! Diet wise I am all carbed up and feeling yucky..- have stocked up on meat and plan to start Stilly's again tomorrow. As soon as my internet is on I will be here rocking the boards daily, I miss you guys, I just can not hack posting from my BB and that has been a great excuse to go off plan... I feel like a frump right now.

Just how many calories are you eating on stills? Because the exercise thing with super low calories is a valid point, you don't want to faint or get sick over it. In his rapid fat loss handbook, Lyle does say that if you are new to exercise, a crash diet isn't really the ideal time to start, I'm not sure what your current exercise plan is... He even says that doing a large amount of exercise (6 hours of cardio a week) while following a PSMF (which Stillman's is) can actually be detrimental to weight loss, as it would decrease your metabolic rate more than your "calories burned through exercise" would cover. So basically totally shooting yourself in the foot. He also advises that if you want to do exercise and you weren't regularly exercising BEFORE the PSMF, then the best choice would be weight training to spare LBM. He advises one exercise per bodypart, with high reps and lighter weights, 2-3 times a week. (no uber heavy lifting). I'm not imagining he's thinking pink 1 pound dumbbells though.

I get in around 1000 to 1200 with Stillmans and I already exercise and lift so I didn't want to give up my workout for Stillmans and last time I did it I lost about 60lbs in a little over two months following the 14 day shape up and twice a day cardio so I'm hoping it works as well as it did the first time. I will be kicking everything off with a 7 day detox, which is 2 days of green tea and water followed by 5 of fruits and veggies only.

Well peeps--I found canned chicken!!!! Oh Gawd!! I bought a can!! Haven't opened it yet though! I'm scared!!! It's got a lot of fat too-10grms per 100grms. There was canned beef and pork too!!!

Wow, your chicken breast in a can sure do have many grams of fat. The brands that I get at Target, HEB and Kroger have 1-2 grams per serving and each can has roughly 4 servings...Look at all the choices and choose accordingly...
Cy, that is a tremendous amount of weight you want to lose in a short amount of time. Take it day by day and plan your meals. Planning will help when a craving for those Magnum Bars comes. Very soon, the craving will cease if you stick to plan. The other day I was at the store and this huge lady was buying two boxes of those things. All I could do was feel sorry for her choices with my cans of chicken breast, olivo spray, lean turkey breakfast links and other healthy fair...It was just a stark reminder of where I never want to go again. Exercise is good! I agree with GT ....I have rekindled my relationship with jogging and it makes me feel so alive in the morning...I just jogged this morning for 4 miles and I felt great when I came home....Wet, but fabulously wet...I knew my jog was over when it began to get light outside and humid...Boy, Houston is hot![]() |

I always check everything for fat content!!! Ye know how much I hate fat---everywhere!!!!
That was the only can. I'm only going to try it once. I only got it cos you guys are always on about it!! I still think it's mega weird!! And gross!!! But actually Germany seems to be the home of canned meats!!! I bought 12-yes 12 pots of ff cottage cheese!! I was there when they were putting it out so I just took the whole tray!! I was at the check out and this woman said to me--are they all for you or are you buying them for a restaurant?? So I said, nope, all for me!!! And she said, I hate that stuff, it reminds me of diet food!!!! I started laughing!!! |
