I survived the cruise !!
Hello
Ok I'm back from my tropical cruise vacation Ive been gone for five days with no scale, endless buffets, drinks and desserts galore! The cruise was just ok, nothing special to be quote honest We will try to plan something more to our liking This was a planned family trip that we had to double as a honeymoon! Yuk right ?!? We made it through Ok so I have a food and status report Just to let everyone know that going on a vacay does not have to mean loads of weight gain and to cause us to go off track again for good The last time I went on vacation I gained weight and then just kept eating bad after that and gained 15 lbs an kept going This time, the story was a little different I worked out only twice ( 30 min power walks at the track) I ate heavy in the mornings and semi heavy at lunch and kept dinner light I did have a few late midnight pizza eatings ![]() Ugh Overall not horrible but I didn't do as well as I wanted Fortunately all the " real food" worked through my system so I was able to go to the restroom quite regularly, I was thankful for that So I weighed this morn and took out my tape measure too I'm up only 1.8 lbs and my measurements are exactly the same Can you believe that? About 2 lbs gain after 5 days cruise Let's just say that Is proof that stillmans teaches us smarter habits and how to manage in situations outside of our control! We can have some good things but not completely lose it and spoil our efforts Now I can focus on my lifetime maintain situation and see If I can create the perfect program Stills program has given me the power to eat but stay slim This week i get to use the 1.8 lbs gain as an excuse to eat clean for a bit |

Morning!
I had another dog related episode last night but didn't binge eat and even got some cuddle time in with the puppies and my big man (big dog, no real man in the picture hahah )Here is the episode of Marissa's life last night: So last night I took Dexter to the dog park again and he got into another scrap with a different BIG male dog luckily this time it was my friend's dog and she managed to drag him off so I am thinking he doesn't like other young male dogs, someone told me that it takes about 6 months for the testosterone to work its way out of the system after a dog is neutered so I am wondering if that has something to do with it? After the dog "fight" I took Dexter home because he wouldn't calm down and went back to the park with my dogs... well apparently Dexter can escape his kennel because I got home and he had ruined 3 sets of my blinds, 2 I can still roll up but the 3rd one is destroyed AND he somehow let the puppies out so I walk into the door and stepped right into a big pile of poop! And then at 3 am Bones decided that peeing in my kitchen was a good idea, this is the dog that has been house trained forever and has never had an accident in the house! I don't think it was an accident..... On the plus side Maggie's tummy problem is doing a lot better! so there was no huge clean up today! |

Carnival? You didn't like it? I've loved our cruises, I really want to plan one for Jan 2013 but I think the friends are leaning more towards an all inclusive resort, boooo
It's so great that you managed to only gain 2 pounds! I had a week cruise in January and that was NOT the case for me, but I ate absolutely horridly. I had that bad mentality "I should eat everything that looks good because right after this I'll have to diet hard!". Horrible, horrible thinking. Next time I'll keep lunch light and just have whatever looks good on the supper menu in the dining room, and stay away from the cakes at the specialty coffee shop, and stay away from any snacking between meals.

Yes it was Carnival, I have been on so many Carnival cruises, I think I am just completely over the whole thing. My hubb and I do prefer the all inclusive resorts these days. This trip was not our plan, it was a family trip that we were asked to go on , so we kind of just had to do what we were told. -Tanya |

Hello everyone!! Looks like everyone did great and had a wonderful holiday. I stayed on plan for the most part but did more of a Lyle's plan because I had veggies. So far today...protein only, I am so ready to be done I am just going to do it already.
Tanya, you look great and that Mai Tai looks pretty darn good right now and I am not even a drinker, lol! I am very encouraged that you only regained around 2lbs. Leaves me some hope I can keep this weight off this time around. I didn't follow the trial but I had a feeling Casey was going to be found not guilty ![]() Gonna have fish and shrimp for a few days, grilled some the other day and it was pretty good Hang in there guys, we can do this!

I got a new scale last year because my scale was being completely stupid with weights... I'd get on, it would say one thing. I would get off, my husband would get on (to force it to "reset"), then I'd get on it again and it would have a completely different weight. If I picked up a 5 pound weight it did not register as exactly 5 pounds heavier. I did a ton of research and ended up buying the EatSmart scale (look it up on Amazon), it had a ton of 5 star reviews, I've had it for a year and it's always been extremely accurate. I can step on 30 times and it'll read the same weight. Someone else can step on it and I'll step on after and it goes back to the same weight. I get on with my son in my arms and it shows exactly my weight + my son's weight. Love it!

I'm considering doing a fruit detox:
Here’s a simple 7-day detox plan that most people in good health can follow. This is an effective but not too aggressive detox: 1) On days one and two, stick with liquids. Drink only pure spring or filtered water, water with lemon squeezed into it, herbal teas, juiced leafy greens, or bone broth. I like to use 50% water mixed with 50% coconut water since coconut water has valuable electrolytes in it. It's a good idea to drink at least eight glasses of water or other fluids daily up to a maximum of about 100 ounces per day. Avoid fasting if you are taking prescription drugs, if you have hypoglycemia, diabetes, or another medical condition (such as pregnancy), or if you feel dizzy, nauseated, or experience cramps. 2) On days three through seven, add brown rice (1 cup throughout the day), fruits, and vegetables. Try to stick with organic produce. Cruciferous vegetables--such as bok choy, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kale, rutabagas, and turnips--are particularly effective at activating those enzymes in the liver that promote the natural detoxification process. *I stick to greens, greens, greens during these days. *You can add healthy oils on top, such as olive, avocado or coconut oil. You should eat portion sizes appropriate to your hand size as per Eat-Clean Diet Recharged (page 405) and eat 6 small meals each day. Healthy fats, Remember, NO breads or pastas. This is basically a strict Eat-Clean plan like The Eat-Clean Diet Stripped, however, protein is coming from brown rice and bone broth. 3) Consider herbs and supplements in addition to your standard multivitamin. Chlorophyll-rich "green" products—for example, those containing wheat grass, barley grass, or various types of algae—are a source of beta-carotene and other vitamins and minerals. Although studies are lacking, many people claim these green drinks and powders provide an energy boost. It is really important to take a good vitamin C supplement throughout the detox. 4) After 7 days return to your normal Eat-Clean Diet plan. 5) I maintained a normal workout schedule, but we are all different. You may need to go lighter. This could be an opportunity to try an equally detoxifying workout routine such as Bikram or Moksha yoga (aka hot yoga). Sweating it out in an infra-red sauna is similar. Remember, listen to your body to decide how much activity you can do. **AS MENTIONED ABOVE, PLEASE DO NOT DETOX WHILE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING** This is kinda like the Stillman Inches Off plan I was thinking of doing this one week thisn Stillmans 3 weeks every month until I hit goal. Anybody game?
