Hey guys!! I wandered over to this thread to check it out... and I must say, it sounds like a good fit for me!! I am getting married on September 17th and would love to lose some more weight. I have already lost 10 in the last two months doing low carb (<20g per day) but I really need something a bit more strict!! Any advice for a newbie like me, considering Stillmans??? Are there any good reads to start me out? What kind of foods should I stock up on? Tips/tricks? I am very committed to looking fabulous in my wedding dress!!! XOXO Thanks in advance!!

Stupid question.. is this just a supplement or a diet too? Everytime I look it up . I end up on the site that wants me to buy it. .Was just curious if you use it in conjunction with your current plan or you have to follow their diet?

Ok, I figured it's time for a status update, I haven't been around much, it's too flipping hot!

As you know I'm doing Lyle McDonald's rapid fat loss, so it allows for veggies and 2 cheat meals a week (and this past week that was camping and I tried smores for the first time in my life, talk about a sugar high!).

Anyways, on June 23rd I weighed in at 274 pounds (bloated though, it was the day before my period). Today I weighed in at 255.2 (and probably starting to bloat again, those monthly cycles are not fun). The first five days were not with the Lyle plan (just generic low carb) so here are my breakdowns on the protein sparing modified fast:

Week1: -5.6 pounds
Week 2: -2.2
Week 3: -0.8 (went a bit overboard on my free meals this week, retained some water)
Week 4 (3 days only so far): -5.0 pounds

I'm pretty happy with that, considering I'm LUCKY if I manage to lose 0.8 pounds a week on strict Atkins induction. And the bingeing has not happened, and I have huge troubles with that! My cheats last one meal and then it's back to protein, I was hugely sceptical that it would work for me but so far so good!

CCGirl, I've been following Mark's Daily Apple for a while, it's a wonderful site (and the Primal Blueprint is a wonderful book). Have you read Kurt Harris's blog though (formerly PaleoNu, now Archevore). I actually like PaNu/Archevore better than the Primal Blueprint:

Archevore - Archevore Diet

Good Morning Ladies,

This is just a drive by...This maintenance thing is working well...I have been fluctuating between 128 and 132 which is fine for me....I find that enjoying a handful of nuts really doesn't change my base line and adding some occasional cheeses are fine...The other day at work a load of Indian food was delivered for a meeting and I was able to eat a little naan bread and some seasoned meats..It was fine and that little piece of naan didn't upset the steadiness of my lifestyle change...I will say this though...It tasted weird and I finally feel that my love affair with bread is OVER!!! It didn't taste like I thought it would taste after these many months without it...I think that I have 'cured' my obsession...The good thing is that I only ate half a piece and didn't eat the whole thing...Fantastic...See there is happiness over the rainbow ladies....

Have a Meatastic Day

it's a hormone and a diet, but there are fakes out there like mad. You take drops and the the first few days you 'load' up with food, and then the hormones make you lose.
I watched others on different threads try it and they lose a few then stay stuck.

I think it's a placebo effect. I think what I eat day to day is comparable to HCG diet, I eat about 600 cals a day when it's not a free meal day, and it's mostly chicken with some veggies. I don't do the bread obviously, or the fruit... but I think my losses are in line with what people experience on HCG, so I don't think the HCG actually does much personally, I know some people swear by it. I don't believe in homeopathy either.

It's illegal to sell HCG in some states so I am skeptical about it...! However, I do know a close friend that lost a lot of weight with it and has kept it off.

I fell off the wagon yesterday at lunch and ate more than a man twice my size who was sitting next to me, I'm not gonna lie I was kinda impressed with myself haha.

I used to be able to eat that much regularly and I now I feel like I am still full Thuis is one thing I like about Stills even though my appetite came back after I went off plan there is still no way I could ever eat the way I used to, I guess I could stretch my stomach again but I'm not going to.
