Dunno but I suspect I could be the protein and carb one!

Ok--found where to take the test!!! And what do ya know??? I'm the carbo type!!!!!
But i've always said that on pure protein I don't feel good!! And I don't like the high fat stuff! I feel best on lf protein and lf dairy with some veg--and I like berries!! Oh and I've said before I don't gain if I eat a slice of bread. So actually if you listen to your body properly it does know what it likes best!!
His carb type diet is waaaaay to carby...but it's interesting!!

And I've always thought it was funny that I basically did a meat diet to lose the weight cos truthfully I could happily live without the stuff!! And I don't like high fat or salty foods!!..........now high fat and sweet and sugary...Mmmmmm!!!

Wow, 7 pages already and it's only June 3rd! I haven't been around much because I've had a ton of stuff going on with the end of the school year, dance and music recitals, etc., etc. I see a few new faces on the thread, so to all of you!

I'm doing great, have lost 23 pounds since March 31st, mostly on Stillman's. I think I've gotten past a lot of stumbling blocks and going off plan, and I feel like I can conquer this now. I'm finally at that lovely place where food doesn't control me, and I've found that commitment inside myself that is keeping me on track. I know the scale is a controversial subject, but for me, if I hadn't been weighing myself regularly, I would have given up a while ago. It took 20 pounds for me to go down one size, so if I had been going on how my clothes fit, I would have been very discouraged. I feel like I dropped a size overnight. Like one day I was wearing my size 14 jeans, and the next day, they were falling off and I had to dig out my 12s. But whatever, I'll take it!

I don't think I can catch up with the thread, but I'll try to check in more regularly. Next week is the last week of school for my kids, so I will have less running around to do. I hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday!

Thanks for love CC! I am better now and have healed nicely. My appetite is still weird and I guess my metabolism has changed a little. Still doing the CO and a little coffee. I had a dull ache in the area of the missing gallbladder. I read somewhere about gas and bloating, yadda, yadda, and how coffee enemas help stuff. I did one with regular brewed warm coffee and, voila, I'm healed! No pain is a wonderful thing.

One thing I have found with dieting is that the body is very efficient. I cannot stay low calorie too long or my body just halts the weight loss and I refuse to screw up my metabolism. If I have to lose slower then so be it. So the combo of the intermittent fasting and stillman's/dukan seems to be working for me, I use the IF because I get to eat fattier cuts of meat when I do eat which I enjoy alot better than chicken breast and tuna with no mayo, lol. I still eat the same number of calories just within an eating window rather than spread over the whole day. I will keep you guys updated but 4lbs lost in the last week and I hadn't lost any serious weight since March of this year-----I kept gaining and relosing the same 5lbs over and over and over, blah, blah, blah. But I am actually finally making progress, lol!

Hey Roomies! (or should that be threadies?)

Down another pound this am (214)...yay me!...also, yesterday afternoon I just absolutely crashed (energy wise)...I mean I was at the grocery store and I actually had to leave because I just could not go on ...anyone ever had that happen to them? Anywhoo I feel much better this morning and will be heading back to the store to finish getting my groceries...

One more thing...I bought a jar of the Walden Farms no cal, no carb, no fat, nothin', peanut butter spread and let me just warn y'all...it's very expensive and it actually made my husband gag (he's my guinea pig, he'll eat anything)...well I tried it and I had to spit it out...

May each and every one of you have an amazing weekend and my sincere wish is that everyone loses at least 2 pounds!

Down 1 pound this morning. . That's good for me so I'll take it. .

let's pray for another tomorrow.. Hafta work the baseball concessions tonight so lots of beer, brauts, dogs, chips and peanuts flying about. . Thank goodness for packaged tuna. .I will make sure I have a couple stuffed in my bra and a big ole' bottle of water to boot! I'm just praying I don't crash in the middle of the game. . .that would be embarrasing as I felt just like I was drugged last night. .and then again, perhaps they'll send me home early if I look intoxicated!!

Hey girls!!

Yes, I do know about the low-carb flu, I just wasn't remembering it at the time. At any rate, gonna try and stick out Stills at least for a few more days and see if I will feel more satisfied. I am down 0.5 this AM -- WOOT!!

BTW, do any of you every eat a nonfat, sugar-free yogurt once in a while for variety?

And oh! oh! If you like vintage anything, you must get a copy of
The Master's Way to Beauty by George Masters. He has this awesome section on diets. His go-to diet was only fish for a few days, then he added in a salad and a scotch at night. No dairy, no sugar, no starch. He did this for about 2 weeks to get 10 lbs off. Rita Hayworth's diet is also interesting: a quarter portion of any food, and no more. George said he thought her diet the best for life-long eating habits, but that sometimes we all need something stronger. Anyway, even if you don't read or need the diet sections, his gossip about Hollywood stars is just delish!

Another great book is Luciana Avedon's Body Book. She says the main enemy of your figure is... starch. She advocates eating a little starch a few times a week for your sanity, but otherwise, she advocates lean meats, no fats or cream, lean dairy, and plenty of vegetables, some hard cheese & fruit.

Anyway... just sharing some of my fave vintage diet books. So very Stillman!

Friday
AM: hardboiled egg; 1% cottage cheese; coffee
Luncheon: small piece of roast, all fat trimmed off and bit of bbq sauce.
Dinner: tuna dressed with vinegar??

let's pray for another tomorrow.. Hafta work the baseball concessions tonight so lots of beer, brauts, dogs, chips and peanuts flying about. . Thank goodness for packaged tuna. .I will make sure I have a couple stuffed in my bra and a big ole' bottle of water to boot! I'm just praying I don't crash in the middle of the game. . .that would be embarrasing as I felt just like I was drugged last night. .and then again, perhaps they'll send me home early if I look intoxicated!!
mmmmmmm brats.......it wouldn't be completely off plan.....get thee some potassium for that light head.

So the motherboard finally came and after installing it my tower says the power supply is overloaded; since having the geeks at Staples do a diagnostic on it and knowing the power supply was known good I have ordered another board.
Not a happy girl.
BUT, if I had Staples do the repair I still would have been down the same amount of time
AND
if I had gotten a new pc then all the files would still be untransferable from the dead tower so I would still be stuck.
So, chin up, moving on. I sure am glad I didn't pay for faster shipping as it would have been cash in the toilet.......

Another tall girl here! I'm 5'11" and I definitely have to lose about 15 lbs before I can fit into the next size.

CC, sorry about your computer!! That is always such a terrible thing to go through. I hope it all works out and you don't lose all your files.

here's a thought, we could buddy up shoe sizes and start our own trade co op. Instead of donating ones we are getting rid of, we could post them to see who is interested.

Shipping is easy, the person who wants them creates a Priority Mail label at USPS.com needing only the dontors' zip code, no address disclosure needed. Then you would email the scanned mailing label to the other parties generic (@yahoo.com , @gmail.com) email address as an attachment. Drop the shoes in a box, print the attachment, and mail them off!

any takers?

I like the sound of that! What size do you wear? I wear an US 11.

I'm going to get some potassium salt to see if that helps with the energy. If not, off to get a few bottles of 5 Hour Energy

thanks girl......on the bright side I now know how to replace pretty much everything on a tower. I did a hard drive on a buddy's laptop last year.

Dangerous is a girl with her own hand tools!
