Count me in!
I am so happy to see this thread! I have been reading about Stillmans and it sounds awesome so I am giving it a try! Some background for me is in order I guess as I haven't posted here in a hella long time. ....I've been in Atkins maintenance for the last couple of years, I hit goal at 130lbs but I have gained about 6lbs slowly over the years. I want to take that off and hit 125 for an upcoming cruise to Alaska in August...that's 14 weeks to take off 11lbs. I would like to think this would be easy but I know my body and it's gonna be a catfight and a half. Breakfast: 1 cup of cottage cheese (regular, but it's the last bit of cottage cheese in my house so I am using it up today, then I will be buying some fat free cottage cheese later today when I go shopping). Lunch: egg drop soup, making that today for the first time for lunch, woohoo! Dinner: going to make myself a turkey or chicken burger with a tiny bit of mustard Edit: ...it's still morning here and I am already at three glasses of water...going to work in the 8 glasses a day, I never drink that much normally... Wish me luck, and good luck to you ladies! WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!

Date Started Atkins: 7/16/05 - Present day HISTORY: I went LC back in 7/16/05 on the Atkins diet. I lost most of my weight the first year. Maintained my loss, bouncing between 130 -135 lbs. I have a dream of obtaining 125lbs but I feel this is unrealistic, and I have updated my goal. This last year 2012 I fell HARD back into wheat, and gained to 142 lbs. I went back to low carb and dropped back down to 137 lbs (still losing down to 130 lbs). Last edited by Maerow; 05-07-2011 at 09:18 AM.. Reason: forgot about the water! |

Well I broke down and cheated Saturday...
Saturday am weight: 209.0 ![]() B-1 HB egg 1 med. cheese crisp 1 cup of black coffee water L-6 boiled shrimp with about 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter 1 SF Jello Chocolate Mousse cups ***Here's where I went temporarily insane: I whisked together a package of SF Vanilla pudding with a half a can of coconut milk and made something that was supposed to resemble a SF, LC vanilla mousse...wasn't very tasty so I wouldn't recommend trying it but that sure didn't keep me from eating it like it was going to be my last meal ![]() some water but certainly not what I was supposed to be drinking D-1 bleu cheese burger (no bun or LTM) ***Another lapse: I chose friend onion tanglers as my side and ate all of them on my plate, dipping each mouthful into a generous amount of Ranch dressing... diet pepsi S-After dinner I made my husband take me to the local ice cream parlor whereupon I wantonly partook of 2 scoops of ice cream covered in fudge and topped with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry...and to add insult to injury I also ate a waffle cone dipped in chocolate and covered in sprinkles... ![]() Ugghhhh....can't wait to see the scale tomorrow ![]() Brum |

B: 3 eggs
L: 2 hard boiled eggs S: SF/FF yogurt D: 2 eggs Snack: egg drop soup Very eggy day for me but Sunday was a crash and burn day, I was fine until dinner, went to family's house for dinner and the menu was chinese. I had lots and lots of veggies, but the salt and sugar coating everything did me in. Basically starting over. I have cravings so bad today I ended eating a ton of eggs, just to keep myself out of the bad stuff. Not even weighing myself today. bleh. You are doing so great Butterfly, a real inspiration! ![]() |

Dear LC Friends,
So here's my story!! Please forgive me for the long intro posting. As of May 8, my weight loss has officially stalled, especially since my big pig out on a whole Domino's 12" medium pizza-1800 c, (daily total, 2420 c, fat 115g, net carbs 211g, prot 127g), on 5/6 . I stopped eating by 8p, but I felt "hung over" the next day. Do you think this is the fall out? Carb drunk? LOL That day I weighed in at 221. 2 days later I am at 219, but still in ketosis. (BTW, I have been in ketosis since Atkins on 4/4/11.) This is a stall, considering I was losing 1 lb per day. However, I have lost 1" in my waist. Yay!! ![]() I switched to Stillman because I found I was eating too many calories on Atkins , mostly fat, so on May 1, after fasting for 1 1/2 days--37 hrs., I loosely followed Stillman's repetition diet of egg and tomato, mostly. Lots of herbal tea, water more than 80 oz. I had 2 large eggs, 1/2 tomato, 1 tbs mayo, 2 or 3 times per day, a little spices, no added salt, sometimes 4c coffee, bullion, shredded asiago/parmesan/romano cheese (full fat), no carb soy protein isolate for a shake with choco powder, 1 serving green beans, Sweet & Low. I.F. for every other day, for between 500-700 cals per day. I lost 1 lb per day.Additionally, each day I take a basic multi (which is not really adequate for calcium, potassium, B12, Vit C), 1/8 cup of apple cider vinegar in 2 cups water, and a self-administered B12 injection containing 500mcg of B12, in addition to a blood pressure med w/a diuretic. I believe my BP is well under control (maybe a little low) and I may need to have the Doc remove me from it soon. (He's the one who wants me under 200 by 6/30.) ![]() I have analyzed (LOL!) my eating during the Stillman losing weight period, 5/1-5/5: 1) under 700 cals but was shooting for 500; 2) 15 net carbs, 3) higher fat, at least 43g fat, more than half the total calories (equivalent to fat grams in extra large eggs; 4) in dark ketosis - 80 mg; 5)energy output the same - 40 min walk; 6)used an IF approach-no solid food after 9p, no breakfast next day, lunch at 2p; 7) lots of herbal tea, water mostly (80+ oz). This worked as long as I had fat in my diet. I lost 7.5 lbs in a week, even with the big pig out. After my big pig out and beginning 5/8, I thought I should cut back on fat and ate fish, green beans, higher carb dressing on the fish, more coffee, some melon. In other words, higher cals (1000-1100), higher net carbs (23-28) and lower fat (18g). Coffee was a good diuretic but I think it added to my low blood sugar response at night causing cravings for food and sugar. I snacked pickles and some cantaloupe melon. I have both Stillman books, so I know we are to keep fat low and don't count calories if we follow him strictly. But... So, for now, I will eliminate coffee, bullion, higher carb (8g/2Tbs) dressing (even though it is TJ's yummy Asian ginger), melon and no cottage cheese. I will go back to the egg/tomato with mayo, some fish, chicken to increase fat at little, but under 700 cals/day. He has many diet variations to help accomplish this. I.F. is good for training appetite. I am having coffee for breakfast today, just to test my theory on low blood sugar. I hope to lose 5 lbs this week, down to 215 by May 15 Weigh In. ![]() I will increase exercise after I reach my first goal of 198 lbs. Friends, any and all comments and suggestions are asked for and welcomed. Maybe I'm panicking. So many of you are doing so well, losing steadily over the short and long term. ![]() I want to be part of that group._____________________________ Dee Still Soldiering On - A Special Forces Covert Op!! Breakfast: three eggs, 1 slice of cooked ham (too salty I think), bit of cheese, Snack: sf/ff yogurt Lunch: two boiled eggs Dinner: 1 cup lowfat cottage cheese and some plain skinless chicken Snack: sf/ff yogurt Lots and LOTS of tea. I have stopped drinking coffee because I need too much cream to make it taste good. I can drink tea plain with sweetner. |

Yesterday was grilled chicken, lean ground beef, and 1/2 cup FF Fage.
Today I've had 2 eggs. Will probably eat more grilled chicken, and maybe ground turkey for dinner. |
