Oh and I looove Gossip Girl!!! Well it's slightly weird that the guys always wear suits!!! I love Leighten Meester(can't spell!) But i just don't 'get' Blake Lively at all!!! I think she's wooden and her voice is kinda droney---and as for how she's the fashion icon??? I mean is it just me or does anyone else think she looks so old for her age?? Isn't she like 22or something? She easily could pass for 30! There's no 'freshness' to her at all. She looks hard! Leighten on the other hand is much softer! And prettier! iMO!!

This not only applied to losing weight, but to moving, to taking a different job, to buying my house, etc.

There are two things I remind myself of whenever I get this well meaning but unsolicited advice. #1, no one knows my situation as well as I do.
When people give advice, they're giving it based on what they see and they're basing it on their own experiences. Their experiences are not yours, they are not you, and since they're not in a position to know all of the facts of your situation, they're not qualified to give advice.

#2 most of the advice people give is meant more to keep things the way they are and not to have anything change.
You've lost weight, you look great, you feel great and that might be a change some people aren't ready for.
Instead of saying, "you've lost weight and now I'm afraid you won't want to hang out anymore..." or "you've lost weight and now you look better than I do ..." they'll say, "you've lost weight, are you healthy? You should put some back on."

At the end of the day, you have to be you. you have to do you. There will ALWAYS be well meaning and well intentioned people trying to feed you nonsense. If you listen and take in everything they say, you will never get anything done.
wow AMEN

So I am going strictly old school Stillmans. Nothing but yellow mustard for seasonings. No fats... 80 0z of water... etc. I hope I get this off in a week, but I think 10 days would be acceptable! The hostess is graciously providing breakfast, some lunches, and there will be pizza for dinner at least one night. Breakfast is going to be an assortment of baked goods from Panera ; lunch will be bread, chips, veggies/dip, lunchmeat/cheese, etc. We will probably go out to eat at least once, probably more, during the weekend. I'm kinda freaking out about WTH I'm going to eat. I can skip breakfast as long as there's coffee, but lunch and dinner, especially when everyone else is having pizza or we're at a restaurant...I think it's going to be tough.

I don't know the hostess, or anyone other than the friend I'm going with, and I really don't like discussing my diet with ANYONE (other than here). I don't want it to be an issue, and I don't want to be conspicuous. I think there's no way around the fact that I'm going to have to bring my own food, how can I do that and not draw attention? I may be overreacting, but I'm naturally an introvert and I prefer to go with the flow in group situations. Does anyone have any ideas for easy, cooler-friendly foods I can bring with me? I thought about those tuna pouches, but yech, they stink. HB eggs, I guess I can deal with. Maybe some individual FF Fage yogurts. Um...not sure what else. Any ideas? I am getting really anxious about this!
unless they know the truth, stick with the 'I'm borderline diabetic and gluten intolerant'

Nobody messes with a diet for medical reasons....even tho weight loss is for better health it's always perceived as vanity

Yeah the cynics say he was going after the Irish vote in America!!! He is such a showman though-I mean charisma in bucket loads! He's very different to our politicians or the British ones either! Their speeches would be heavy on fact and figures etc. whereas Obama really goes for rousing inspiring speeches-I guess that's the American way!!It was a very quick stopover, on his way to the G8 summit in the UK!
No, I'm from Galway, on the west coast.
I don't really know who Carney Wilson is! I think I may have seen her a few years ago on Oprah! Imagine putting it all back on with lap band, I never knew that was possible! Well I know technically you could liquidise stuff-but still!! I'm glad we did it the natural way too. Actually it's not nearly half as common in Ireland as it is in the US. And I know it's stupid to think it would be a good lifetime fix--it's just the thought of putting the weight back on scares the hell out of me!
Congrats on the huge loss BTW!

And sooooooo, setting you up for diabetes in the long run. I ask cos diabetes is in my family. And yes, I know, that can be avoided by never eating the sugar and sticking to lc for life!!
No answers here.........if you Google 'long term effects of low carb' all you get is studies that bash the diet.

All I can say is that Barry Groves and his wife have been LC for over 36 years and they are more healthy than the rest of their medical peers........

I have ebbs and flows, but last night I kind of felt like I was hit with a brick
I was standing in front of the mirror and seeing a slim person yet I had the saddest face you have ever seen. I think I was just tired and grumpy and the last few days have been bad ( especially since the fiasco at the wedding), I just feel like I want to crawl into a hole, get skinny and then come out and keep living life.

I know thats not how it works but it is what it is..

Hey, T-when I was at ChuckECheese for my neice, I was exactly the opposite. I was floating on air because I had the LC secret that will never make me a fatty again! I was like, bring on the pizza (eat the toppings) and the wings! I so scarfed food! And nobody said a thing!

So like here!

Referring to Psych's post, I will continue to obsess/appreciate my weight now and forever. I love it! Not even at goal and I feel like I can wear anything! Saw a preview of the Miss Americas and my first response was 'that one on the left is fat!'

Hey T!!!! Did you stick with fatty meat? Gotta repeat, I spent months eating that way and it didnt do me no harm! I still lost!! and I was eating pounds of ground beef a day and 16 oz steaks, and trays of chicken thighs with skin. I even wanna bet your energy and mood are up today after the extra fat!

I never exercised and still lost 70 pounds in 6 months. Not Stillmans fast, but fast enough for me!! Im hoping if you try it you can get the same results cause fatty meat is GOOD!!

Some people gain on the fat initially, and you might get nervous and stop, but after a week, it comes right off and then some. If you, or anyone else close to goal, were to up the fat this week, and I always suggest it before upping carbs, you'll be able to eat that whole prime rib at the wedding this weekend and still lose a couple pounds. The fat gets things moving and puts our heads back on straight.

Im definitely talking beef fat here or chicken skin, but mostly beef. Not eggs, or cheese, or butter, and deffy not oils..

Im thinking you wont try this so close to your dress fitting and wedding, the unknown territory would scare me to, but its another option for the days after your wedding when you are still trying to figure out what to do. Fatty meat is most satisfying. (Im drooling right now) and hubby would be so proud if you knocked off that steak before he could!! I was 113 pounds and could outeat every one at the table. Yeah they thought i was skinny but when they saw me eat, what could they say? nothing except, maybe you should have a little brocolli.. and I would say WHY?!?! whats the point!

I feel like Im on a diet right now with my tuna and eggs, but with a prime rib slab or porterhouse on plate, Im rockin the world.. and while everyone around me is stuffed and ready for a nap, I could easily eat their leftover steak, and still feel like my tummy is flat. Thats the power of meat..

Sorry for the ramble ...just me getting psyched on my meat again!!

My thoughts above come from a place where no fruit and veggies, were eaten at all. No one should do this unless they are prepared to be strictly meat for a while, or else it will backfire.

No the meat was not fatty, he knew BETTER than that. He would push me but not to the point of breaking.

I only ate lean meats all day, my fiance roasted chicken and grilled spicy shrimps for dinner, so it wasnt all that bad
My weight was the same today so it wasnt a big deal in the end ( of course), is anything ever?

I am not interested in any fatty meat other than Beef, and I have had beef several times, its just like once a week type of thing. I prefer leans, so I can room for my Tic Tacs, and Sugar free gum, and jello!

I am going to try to eat more fatty meats once the wedding is over.

ON our honeymoon ( June 30-July 4), I will have no choice but to eat steaks. I do not plan to splurge on the vacation, but that would be the perfect time to try to the fattier meats, if I gain, oh well, because it should be ok, just temporary, still meat! I dont want to be sick on vacation which is why I want to stay primarily healthy obviously having some fruits and veggies too.
I think the honeymoon will be the perfect time to try some new things, at least it will keep my mind off all the bad stuff. Its just a cruise, at least its not an All inclusive resort where I can just go crazy. The last time I took a cruise, I went to the gym on the ship every day and drank a lot of water, plus I was always swimming or doing some water sport to burn calories, so that way I could eat a bit more, drink, have fun, and when I came home I was only up like 2 or 3 lbs, which is nothing. I refuse to go on a vacation and come home with 10 extra lbs, no way. I will not allow that.
