I saw 139.8 on the scale today and freaked out.

I have not seen a 13-anything on the scale since college...

Ugh...its getting closer to that time. I think I am going to purposely stop losing, so I can stay on this forever and never have to worry about maintaining!

THis is what Stillmans does...you just KEEP losing girls!!

Sally, stay strong!

Hey GT

Do you work your arms at all?
Do you do any exercise for the TRICEPS in particular
I do kickboxing and that tones my arms up really nice so I dont have to lift weights at all. I hate weights

OK seriously Sally, I have eaten Sugar Free Jello PLUS rather heavy sums of diet sodas from Day 1.

In the beginning I think I was worse than I an now!

At least I stick to just to 1-2 servings of sugar free jello per day
And I cut back ALOT of diet sodas. I have like 2 per day, and then water and crystal light rest of the time

Some days, I do drink like 3 diet sodas and then have 3 servings of JELLO, but that is me being super PIG and being depressed about something and taking it out on the Jello!! hah

ok Sally, so you are good on the JELLO. Eat up, just not more than 2 servings per day or you will stall. So be careful but eat up!!

Cheers Tanya good to know having some (x2) sf jellos and diet drinks makes things so much easier

CoNgRaTs Tanya and GT! I'm so proud of you ladies. Your such an inspiration, "you bunch of losers you!" lolol

I'm feeling amazing. I can't believe HOW FREE I feel. I truly feel like the lights suddenly went off in my head. Yesterday I experimented "out of my ckn breast comfort zone" and had a ball. I feel way smaller today. (Not gonna weigh for 2 weeks as the scale TRIPS ME OUT--but I'm solid so no worries here)

Here's what I did:
SEAFOOD CREPE
1 T low fat Cream cheese, 1/4C Non-Fat cottage Cheese, 2 egg/2 white, 1/4 C Egg beaters, dry mustard, tarragon, sea salt, garlic--all smidges of these spices, and 1/4 cup shrimp. IT made a this killer omlete which I split up for 2 meals. Awesome.

SALMON SHRIMP CAKES
1 Can low fat Pink Salmon(same cals and fat as ckn)
1 can tiny shrimp
1/4 cup egg beaters
sauteed galic in butter spray
Low fat Parm Shaker

Mixed all the ingred accept the parm made into 4 patties and sprinkled with the parm chees on the outsides and fried with Butter spray. They were delicious.

STRAWBERRY CREPES
Egg beaters/1 packet Splenda
Sugar Free Jello-Strawberry
1/4 C FF Cottage Cheese
Pinch of salt
Diet Hansons Strawberry soda.

Made a very thin crepe with the egg beaters and splenda, then mixed the jello, about 1 T in the C Chs, placed the mixture inside crepe and folded over. Put in Oven for 5 mins to melt the cottage cheese 350degrees. Take the diet soda and mix into the jello mix heat a bit and pour over crepe at end. IT was rockin!

Last but not least

KEY LIME PUDDING
1 T SF Keylime Jello
1/2 C FF Cottage Cheese

My cals were 1000. GO STILLMANS.

Beth,

It seems like your desserts are like more modern versions of some those awful and old fashioned ones from Stillmans book

There could be money to be made from someone revamping Stilmans recipes and creating a whole new updated book.

Hi LC Friends,

I originally posted my Hello post on the wrong thread (for menus) and was directed here. Hope it isn't an inconvenience to repeat it. I know I can really benefit from your experience.

So here's my story!! Please forgive me for the long intro posting.

As of May 8, my weight loss has officially stalled, especially since my big pig out on a whole Domino's 12" medium pizza-1800 c, (daily total, 2420 c, fat 115g, net carbs 211g, prot 127g), on 5/6 . I stopped eating by 8p, but I felt "hung over" the next day. Do you think this is the fall out? Carb drunk? LOL That day I weighed in at 221. 2 days later I am at 219, but still in ketosis. (BTW, I have been in ketosis since Atkins on 4/4/11.) This is a stall, considering I was losing 1 lb per day. However, I have lost 1" in my waist. Yay!!

I switched to Stillman because I found I was eating too many calories on Atkins , mostly fat, so on May 1, after fasting for 1 1/2 days--37 hrs., I loosely followed Stillman's repetition diet of egg and tomato, mostly. Lots of herbal tea, water more than 80 oz. I had 2 large eggs, 1/2 tomato, 1 tbs mayo, 2 or 3 times per day, a little spices, no added salt, sometimes 4c coffee, bullion, shredded asiago/parmesan/romano cheese (full fat), no carb soy protein isolate for a shake with choco powder, 1 serving green beans, Sweet & Low. I.F. for every other day, for between 500-700 cals per day. I lost 1 lb per day.

Additionally, each day I take a basic multi (which is not really adequate for calcium, potassium, B12, Vit C), 1/8 cup of apple cider vinegar in 2 cups water, and a self-administered B12 injection containing 500mcg of B12, in addition to a blood pressure med w/a diuretic. I believe my BP is well under control (maybe a little low) and I may need to have the Doc remove me from it soon. (He's the one who wants me under 200 by 6/30.)

I have analyzed (LOL!) my eating during the Stillman losing weight period, 5/1-5/5: 1) under 700 cals but was shooting for 500; 2) 15 net carbs, 3) higher fat, at least 43g fat, more than half the total calories (equivalent to fat grams in extra large eggs; 4) in dark ketosis - 80 mg; 5)energy output the same - 40 min walk; 6)used an IF approach-no solid food after 9p, no breakfast next day, lunch at 2p; 7) lots of herbal tea, water mostly (80+ oz). This worked as long as I had fat in my diet. I lost 7.5 lbs in a week, even with the big pig out.

After my big pig out and beginning 5/8, I thought I should cut back on fat and ate fish, green beans, higher carb dressing on the fish, more coffee, some melon. In other words, higher cals (1000-1100), higher net carbs (23-28) and lower fat (18g). Coffee was a good diuretic but I think it added to my low blood sugar response at night causing cravings for food and sugar. I snacked pickles and some cantaloupe melon. I have both Stillman books, so I know we are to keep fat low and don't count calories if we follow him strictly. But...

So, for now, I will eliminate coffee, bullion, higher carb (8g/2Tbs) dressing (even though it is TJ's yummy Asian ginger), melon and no cottage cheese. I will go back to the egg/tomato with mayo, some fish, chicken to increase fat at little, but under 700 cals/day. He has many diet variations to help accomplish this. I.F. is good for training appetite. I am having coffee for breakfast today, just to test my theory on low blood sugar. I hope to lose 5 lbs this week, down to 215 by May 15 Weigh In.

I will increase exercise after I reach my first goal of 198 lbs.

Friends, any and all comments and suggestions are asked for and welcomed. Maybe I'm panicking. So many of you are doing so well, losing steadily over the short and long term. I want to be part of that group.

AWW, T!
I just love your encouraging heart. Thanks Doll. Ur the super star here, I'm just following in your stead.

Man, the sugar free Jello is insanely tasty. I got the Key Lime and put some on my cottage ch and it tastes so good. What I did is measure out half a cup and mix to my liking withthe Jello and nibble on it when I need something sweet like after a meal and such. I just love how satisfied I feel.

Also MUST HAVE SPICES I JUST FOUND. Mrs. Dash "Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend, McCormick Grill Mastes Spicy Montreal Steak and Montreal Chicken" I made a sauteed Pink Salmon, which was only 130 cals for 4 oz, with 24 shrimp. splash of ckn stock and smashed garlic in pan before adding shrimp sautee and fast steam salmon, spray with butter spray and sprinkle with the Mrs Dash SW Chipotle. It was so filling, so delicious and less than 300 cals with NO CARBS VERY LOW FAT> YUMMY. Oh and a few bites of my Mock, Key Lime Pie! I'm in heaven/

The Shrimp Sautee sounds very good.
I have avoided Shrimp because I am not sure how to cook it in the right way, but now I am eager to try the shrimp and egg, plus this Shrimp sautee

Thanks a bunch!

So I lose 10 pounds in a week and what do I do? I go crazy eating sugar free snacks(which I don't normally touch expect to drink iediet soda, CL and splenda in coffee) which didn't do it for me so I had my Diabetes in a cup ice cream with PB that I love, because I am invincible! which I am not and I am now up 4 pounds

Oh well, right back onto stills for me, and in the same day too, thats a new one for me, normally I have a bad day not just one bad meal but I know it works so I will stick with it, and I know I just slowed down my progress but I just gotta forget about the past, right?

Same at home--since April 09 my Mum earns nearly E24,000 less (take home) a year!! (She's a Head of Faculty at a college, so State employed)....... Granted before the recession irish salaries were high.....but the cuts have been unreal........at least though in the Public Sector they still have jobs....our unemployment rate is pushing 40%.

Well I was just looking into doing something extra for my arms!!! What I have been doing--Pilates with a Bendy circle---Winsor Pilates Circle---has really upped my biceps. I do Callanetics--but there's no arms in that at all. The Bar Method does have one the triceps, but that's it. I do Tracey Anderson's Method for arms--she says it's supposed to tone you up without bulking---but personally I just find it silly--it's a lot of holding your arms long out to the sides abd circling them!! I started interval training which actually has a kickboxing element to it--with push-ups and the Plank () etc. But I still find it builds my biceps and doesn't do much for the triceps.....so dunno

I just reckon I'll continue to do what I'm doing at hopefully it will eventually bring results! I don't really want to build muscle--I like the long lean look! I know everybody raves about Michelle Obama's arms, and yeah she does def look like she works out a lot, but for me I would find them way too big.
