Can I ask you guys, what is your sugar-free jello flavoured with?? That's the wobbly strawberry etc stuff? We call it jelly. Just wondering cos I'd like to get some but it's flavoured with aspartamine. I've not eating any AS during Stills except sf gum the last few months. I'm just wondering, especially from Tanya cos it def hasn't done you any harm! And it would be nice to have something sweet!

Then why do you want to weigh 112 now, if you were happy at that weight? did you stop being happy at it?

I have never been a weight I was happy at til now but I get to keep being happier every day as it goes down!

I read it in Dukan's book. He said that what the starvation mode really was, was that when you ate so little for so long your body got more efficient about getting calories and nutrients from food. It was there to protect is in times of famine , but it's not so good now.
So let's say you get 100cals from a slice of bread before you go on a long very low cal diet--after it your body will be able to get 120cals from it. Your body is technically working better, but it's not good for those coming off a diet.
It explains then why people gain rapidly after a diet. After a while your body becomes less efficient at this and so goes back to getting the normal amounts of cals from food. That's why the start of maintenance is very important, he splits pre-maintenance into 2parts. Because remember for every 1000 cals you're eating your body gets 1200 out of it. And as far as I can tell the longer you've been on a low cal diet the more efficient at this your body will be! Eek!
He reccommends staying on a kind of pre-maintenance for 5days for every pound you lost!! Oh goody!!

That makes sense! Oh, I have another question. I've seen a few of you mention the weight that Stillman says you should be, or the weight Dukan says you should be. Is that info in their book? Is there a formula to figure it out? Thanks!

Dunno! I think I was more happy about what it represented rather than the actual weight!
I guess, I just want to be thin and the reason I picked 112 was cos it's just slightly on the underweight side so then I think then I'll know I'm thin because everyone who is underweight is. But then I googled and people said that only a BMI of 16-17 looks truly thin!!! I honestly dunno!!

Also I think standards are higher now--what was considered thin a few years ago is 'curvy' now.

It was Dukan's! You can google it! I dunno what the calculator is, there's questions about your highest and lowest adult weight, how long you were overweight, family's weight etc.

I think Still had 100lbs plus 5 for every inch after that, I'm not sure!

I'm not sure how to attach the charts but it's essentially what GT says, 5 feet - 100 pounds, for every inch above 5 feet, add 5 lbs. That's from my worn copy of The Doctor's Quick Weight Loss Diet. In the Inches off Diet, he specifically says 5'8 133lbs and calories per day to maintain 1500. If you get a chance to get a copy of the book, it's sort of amusing. He definitely has no patience for excuses! It's kinds of refreshing.

Thank you soo much GT. I'm so amazed by your journey and I totally relate to finding a weight that brings peace. I hope we all can find that. Right now, I'm in the place where I just feel so grateful to slip on a pair of jeans and not worry about wearing the thing that covers me up best. I still get blue and can totally focus on the flaws but I'm trying to focus on the parts of my body I love and make peace with the parts.. uh, not so much.

Hey Butterflymama, I put the charts in my profile under albums if you want to check them out. Please excuse the crappy photos, my husband refused to scan them for me because he thinks the weights are tooo skinny! And I'm completely inept at scanning. Cheers.

Cool! Thank you! I went and filled out the Dukan questionnaire, and that said my "true weight" is 150. The Stillman chart says 112-125. Honestly, while I do intend to get to 135, my "happy place" is 150. I'm about a size 8 at that weight, which I'm ok with. I will have to decide once I get there, which will hopefully be sooner rather than later!

I'm only around 5'5-5'6, but I am large framed. My forefinger and thumb have a good inch of space between them when wrapped around my wrist. 150 is not "skinny" for me, it's just a weight where I'm comfortable in my skin and feel like I look pretty decent. I'm still aiming for 135 though!

I'm at 202 today!!! Completed 45 minutes of Zumbathon today and it was hard! I had salmon and cucumbers today.

Do you guys think that Zumva everyday is too much? This is the 6th day in a row of 45 minutes.

My graduation is on Sunday and my present to myself is to be 200 pounds!!
