Greetings from Ireland, peeps!!! Landed 30mins early!! Yay!! So I'm on the bus from the airport!! Gorgeous weather here! But it's Friday rush hour-not good!! I was really good on the plane and at the airport too-usually travelling is def a time for cheats for me-and I'm not talking bananas or oatmeal!! Actually they had instant oatmeal on the flight-you just add water to it, I think. I took out my boiled eggs and ate them up!!!

I am getting to this point where I don't care at all about what other people think about my diet
This weekend I have a few parties and some dinners, and I am not worried one bit. My results have been out of this world for such a short time, and every one and I mean EVERYONE has been asking me what I am doing. Its so funny, then I tell them and they are like, ohh ok, well nevermind then.. Haha, only the strongest survive around here baby! I am extremely dedicated to whatever it is I may be doing, and I am super driven by results, so Stillmans is the perfect diet for me! Results Results! ok so tonight I am going to a night club, mega party. All I care about is wearing a nice form fittting dress and heels and not looking like a HOSS. My friends are like, you arent going to drink? How will you have fun? Are you serious? I will have tons of fun, not worrying about looking BAD All I need is a diet caffiene beverage and I am ready to rock the night away. I dont want ANYTHING getting it the way of my progress. I already know I am going to drink on April 30t, when I go to my bachelorette activities, so I would rather save it for that, when its really worth it! My family gave me a hard time about now wanting soul food this Sunday for my moms birthday, and I was like, oh well, get over it dudes. I can still have a good time without eating up a carb fest. At first I was concerned now I am beyond it. Anyone who cares will understand, and at least I am going to the events, its not like I am skipping out. I care , I am present, but dont think I am going to be downing 100 oz margaritas like in the OLD days I think I can only let other people get me down if I allow them to. Those days are over. I know I can find a balance between going out and having fun and not having all these unnecessary indulgences that make me fat and unhappy. |

I'll put in my 2C Alcohol may have no carbs but your body will burn the alcohol off before the fat and it makes you retain water so it will slow weight loss, may not make you gain but you may stall. It always stalls me, I rarely drink but when I do even if its only 1 drink, I will stall for like 2 days.

Can I Drink Alcohol On Atkins?
What would be the point of being thin if you couldn’t have a drink or two, or three? Well, strictly speaking, alcohol is prohibited in the induction phase of Atkins. Alcohol calories are used before other types when alcohol is available in the blood. When alcohol is present, fat is not being used. This is not compatible with induction where you are trying to get your body into a fat burning mode and keep it there. In ongoing weight loss and less strict phases, alcohol is allowed but one should be aware of the carbohydrate content of your chosen libation: A 12oz. beer has about 12 grams of carbohydrate. Consult the label on your low-carb oriented light beer. A 4oz. glass of wine may contain 2-4 grams of carbohydrate (Avoid dessert wine or Champagne). Distilled spirits (vodka, rum, scotch) contain no carbohydrate so drink all you can hold (just kidding). Of course when drinking spirits, do not mix with anything sweet (fruit juice, coke, seven up etc.). Drinking too much can of course lead to you ending up at McDonald's, a pizza shop or your neighborhood chipper, so moderation is advisable, especially if you are not used to drinking spirits. Your ketostix will let you know the morning after if there was something too sweet about the night before. Copied this from an atkins site |

It won't mess it up but it will slow you down! Your body deals with alcohol the same way as carbs-recognises it as sugar--so it will burn the alcohol first, before body fat!!
I agree I don't really care what poeple think of how I eat-well ok I care a litttle bit--but not enough to eat crap just to please them! Ha! |

So today I almost cheated at Jason's Deli. I had to meet my mom and pick up my daughter, and they got lunch. I came very close to getting a salad or the amazing salad bar, but I resisted.
Ugh. LOVE Jason's Deli! It is really funny that we now "cheat" with things like fruit, oatmeal, or salad. That's a good sign, right? Now I'm starving, so I need to go eat something Stillman-friendly. Oh, and my weight didn't change since yesterday, so at least the yogurt didn't cause a gain. I'm at 186. I'm hoping to get into the 170s by May. Have a great Friday, everyone! BTW, how do you quote multiple people? I'd like to reply to things, but when I hit quote, it only lets me quote one person. ![]() |

Congrats to everyone that is doing so well. I have been incredibly stressed at home and at work so, since I am not the person who quits eating I crave anything and everything. Wish I wasn't that way. I am trying to work out my issues with food lately and really need to realize that I can't eat like I'm a teenager anymore. At least I have been working out so that I am not totally destroying my progress. I will try and check-in tomorrow with my gain for the week

ON Drinking,
I will wait until April 30th weekend to have a drink or two, since its a special party just for me, my weight will be closer to goal and I dont mind the stall then. Not worth it until then! Thanks to everyone for your advice.. Until I see 140...not even one cheat is allowed... Thats my story and I am sticking to it... |

Here's my dinner for today. Middle eastern Shish Kabobs.
1 pound lean ground beef 1/2 bunch parsley chopped up 1 egg Salt, pepper and spices Mix all together and form just enough on the stick that it doesn't fall off when you pick it up. I used my George foreman grill. ![]() |

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a fabulous, relaxing weekend. I'm taking the day off of Stillman's for my birthday. Started off the day with 2 cups of coffee with, GASP, 1/2 & 1/2! I might even have eggs cooked in butter for breakfast. Definitely keeping it lowcarb, but I want to enjoy myself today and not freak out over having a salad or some veggies. The scale has been stuck for a few days anyway, so I'm thinking a day off might even help me start losing again when I get back to Stillman's. Hoping that the Atkins day doesn't make me GAIN, but boy, I'm looking forward to some fiber and fat. Have a great Saturday, everyone!
