Dunno. It really is the luck of the draw-or genetics. Look at the way some Mom's bounce back, others don't.
You are def doing everything right, dietwise, to help. They say a high-protein diet helps with skin shrinking back. So does drinking lots of water.
I suggest you do lots of exercise, strength training and cardio from day1. And use firming cream-a cheap one will do-it just keeps your skin hydrated.
Other than that I have no advice. Only that I wouldn't let it stop you from losing weight. You can only do your best for your skin and hope it will be ok
If it helps, i did what I preached to you!! And I really don't have any lose skin. The stomach and thighs would get a bit lose every so often and then they would just firm up. I know I've been lucky tho!!

Good advice...don't let your worries stop you from losing weight...If you do happen to get some loose skin deal with it when it happens and it maybe that it does not happen at all. I wrote on here just the over day about a girl I found on youtube who had lost a huge amount of weight...she was something like 360lbs...she lost over 200lbs and unfortunately did have loose skin which she chose to have removed. She is such a great inspiration to me and looks amazing now..if you want to, check out aprildawn77 on youtube but remember she was alot heavier than you are and like I said you might not even get any loose skin, look how much weight GT has lost and she has no loose skin and looks amazing.

My ten year old son just finished his homework and noticed taht he had two inc spots on his arm from the pen he was using...so he said "oh look to spots, I can draw a face"...and he did. Kids can be so funny.

it really depends on a lot of things, genetics, how long you were overweight and how overweight you were, ect. this time last year i weighed 267lbs and now i weigh 176ish, i have worked out since day 1 and i don't have any loose skin. A lot of people will tell you exercise won't help but it really does to some extent

I can't eat it plain either! Makes me gag! I tried mustard-didn'nt really like it. So now I put a small spoon of mayo on it. I've got the lightest one with the least amount of carbs I can find. Sometimes I have the real stuff though!! It's the only fst I eat tho!

Gonna def watch that next week. It's doing the Dukan diet, and the first 10days of that is just QWL-with a small amount of natural yoghurt. I've read the book, it's good-but slightly depressing cos he just tells it like it is-your body will remember its top weight , and that you'll always have to have a day of pure protein.

OK, I'm not one who likes to exercise. I just signed up for a free week trial at Curves. Has anyone ever tried Curves? I'm so shook about that loose skin. I've decided to join a gym of some sort to see if I can head it off at the pass!!!! Many thanks for all your responses, you have comforted me. I've been overweight since I was 14. But I've always carried my weight well. To look at me, you wouldn't know I weigh as much as I do. I know the older you get the harder it is to lose weight and of course your skin isn't as "young" as it used to be. I never did the skin care thing. Just soap and water. But, I'm going to lave myself in body lotions from here on out if it will help with the elasticity of my skin.

So far so good on day 2.

30 minutes on the treadmill this morning followed by black coffee with liquid splenda and a turkey patty for breakfast. Lunch was more turkey and a small, leftover italian sausage patty. I normally wouldn't eat italian sausage on Stillmans, but it was only a little.

I've been pounding down the water. It's easy for me when I carry a gallon jug of it around the house and make it my goal to drink the thing before the day is over.

Ha! I was! But we do have the QWL book. Al had it then gave it to Sharon to copy it and she emailed to us. The book is funny too-he calls us 'overweights'-how rude! If you want it you can PM me your email adress.

Never tried Curves-the thougt of everyone sitting around in a circle and watching scares me! Dunno if that's what it like in the US. Heard it's good though.

Oh and just to whinge more about Dukan-he says your body has a weight that it likes-not an overweight weight or anything-and it's pointless trying to go below that cos it will take too much work to maintain it. There's a test on his website you can take-and guess what mine was-133. Aaaagh! But he kind of was scarily correct cos my body does love that number!!

Sharon scanned and emailed us the book, one chapter at a time. PM me your email address...use your junk one like yahoo or gmail, not your most personal one.

Curves rocks my stepmom did it

he's creepy (Dukan).....I think part of the reason Stills didn't catch on is because the book is not scientifically written, it's more like a story book/sales pitch....like do this and trust me it works vs. ketogenic evidence on how kcals are not all alike, the reaction and metabolic action of eating carbs......

Will Rogers, who died in a 1935 plane crash with his best friend, Wylie Post, was probably the greatest political sage this country ever has known.

Enjoy the following:

1. Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco.
2. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.
3. There are two theories to arguing with a woman . . Neither works.
4. Never miss a good chance to shut up.
5. Always drink upstream from the herd.
6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
7. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back into your pocket.
8. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
9. If you're riding' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.
10. Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier'n puttin' it back.
11. After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The
moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.

ABOUT GROWING OLDER...

First ~ Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Second ~ The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Third ~ Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me; I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Fourth ~ When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra.

Fifth ~ You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

Sixth ~ I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.

Seventh ~ One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young.

Eighth ~ One must wait until evening to see how splendid the day has been.
Ninth ~ Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

Tenth ~ Long ago, when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today it's called golf.

And, finally ~ If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't have anything to laugh at when you are old.
