Not really hungry for dinner, but I'm grilling up a small chicken breast (even though I said earlier that I wasn't much in the mood for chicken). It's 7:45, and I haven't had dinner yet; should I eat anyway? I can always save the chicken for tomorrow.

I ate the chicken because I realized I'd only had about 500 calories today, and I don't want to eat those stupid cookies if I'm hungry later! Now I'm really full. Think I'll have some decaf.

Hubby opened the cookies, but I haven't even peeked in the tin, so I don't know what's there, and I won't know what I'm missing. Seven jeans, here I come!

OK, I have to come clean: I ate one cookie. I am ashamed, but it was totally worth it (I'm rationalizing) because my birthday is in about 5 minutes! Back on plan tomorrow. One cookie is not the end of the world.

And guess what? My husband is taking me to Emeril's in New Orleans when we go next month for the Sugar Bowl (he's an Ohio State alum). He thoughtfully sent the menu to my email, so I'm already looking to see what I can eat and stlil be mostly on plan; of course, one doesn't get this opportunity every day, so I'm not going to ruin my fun by being too uptight about the meal. But that's WAY down the road. My focus today is today, the 14th. No cheats! No more cookies--that's the best birthday gift I can give myself.

Also, I'll be out of the house most of the day, so I'll be better able to steer clear of trouble.

Talk to you all tomorrow! It's midnight here.

Thank you for the birthday wishes, GT, and thanks for not bashing me about the cookie!!

I am up early to review my "helping skills" for my counseling role play. I can't decide if I am nervous or not. I really want to do a good job, but part of me feels like I don't know what I'm doing!

Don't know if I'll be back on this morning, I have only 3 hours before I have to start getting ready to leave the house, and I need those three hours to "study."

am new here as a registered member but ive been silently reading and stealing ur great ideas for the past 3 months,pls i need all the inspiration and support i can get,i need to lose weight and fast ive been depressed lately cos of my weight my hips r massive dats where much of the fat is,and pls all the exercise for hips reduction would be welcomed.

Hi Ojay!! Welcome!!!! You'll lose wight quick smart with QLW!! Keep it clean and lean!! It's boring but it works--promise!! You'll def lose inches as well--I think everyone feels the wight loss on low carb looks better than on high-carb/ low-fat diets!!
I can def relate to the weight on the hips--I'm a pear through and through!! but I really have changed my shape will Stillmans--still pear by measurements-but a much much less noticeable one!!!!
About the exercise---a lot of people say you don't need any with QWL--and def in the first few days while your body adjusts to the no carbs it will be hard. But I think cardio helps-I ride a bike-burns the fat, keep metabolism up! And for the toning part I use The Bar Method and Callanetics-both DVDs---but there's a move called the pretzel and it's supposed to really slim down the hips--there are before and after picks and they look amazing!!! I haven't really being doing them that long to notice a huge difference but I do think it will help!!
For the past 2 years I was doing Winsor Pilates and it has really helped too---they're all the same really--(well Callantics is haaaaaaard!!) , lots of stretching and small movements (which if you're lazy like me is a good thing!) but I think they really do work!!

One cookie doesn't count. .especially when its so close to your Birthday. . feeling deprived can make you cheat later so now you can get back to focussing on YOU!

Gals! I'm super excited. . I've stuck with plan and I don't feel deprived and I think I'm doing well (weight wise). .Feel better anyway.. I'm not going to obsess so much about the numbers right now and concentrate on the "feeling".. I love being in control and I love feeling better. .

I am positive I still have a "weighs" to go to get back to stats. . but once I hit it.. I plan to shrink away to nothing.. I'll be so little, you guys won't even be able to see me!

O.. and as a footnote. .hubby decided to do the Atkins stint again. . He's down 15 pounds in one week.. Dang, it. .why can't he ever wait for me to catch up. . He did not gain much back so he's at an all time low..I think he needs to stop now or there won't be anything left. . plus I want him to make a few more healthier choices.. I hate all the fat he puts into his body. . salad dressing, cheese, nuts. . I guess I can lecture him more when I hit goal. ..

Uggh..Headache today - carb detox day ONE. WHY do I do this to myself?? There is not a single high carb item out there that tastes good enough to offset the bad detox feelings. Sigh.......
