Does your Dad know the expense of the obit? It seems exhorbitant!

Is there a family member or friend who needs a ride? You could 'sell' it to them for 500 or whatever...even a dollar and they would have a pretty sturdy ride.

It is still really low miles for the year. The only concerns I would have would be is the transmission......they are notorious for high failure.

I have seen what you folks in ATL call rusty......I'm sure it's not that bad. Up here we have to sledgehammer the rotors off of the hubs just to replace brakes.

I need to know the engine size before evaluating..6 or 8 cylinder?

Thank you for all the hugs, guys.. I think I'm better now.. I also had a super, duper bad case of PMS. . I knew something was up when I opened the refrigerator and a bottle of wine tumbled out on my tile floor and shattered everywhere. .I don't know if I cried because I wasted a bottle of wine or because I had to clean up the mess or because I cut my foot!! Then I laughed because I actually thought about licking the wine off the floor. . . Luckily my wonderful husband cleaned it up and I moved my sobbing but to the couch.. .

She keeps a Christmas CD in her car to play whenever she needs a boost.

I bought some meat yesterday as well.....hoping to have hubby grill it but I may have to put it under the broiler instead - 1-2" of rain predicted.

IM2- Sorry you're weekend was rough!! I hate it when Im late to give hugs, but here they are!!! I have to start over again too and we'll do this carb detox thing together!!!

So, my little girl turned 4. We went out to lunch, and I ordered two burger patties on a plate. Then, we spent the day at the mall and hung out at the Hello Kitty store!!!! I let her pick out whtever she wanted, and we left with a pretty good sized stuffed Kitty. The big one (as big as her) was $120. I am soooo lucky she didnt pick it!!! Then later that night, I grilled ribeyes, and ate one and a half! and then I served the cake. "Sinfully Chocolate Chip Cake". i had to try it. Then I had to try it again. then I had to cut my own sliver. Then I had to have a whole peice!..... I didnt care. It was the BEST DARN THING I EVER EVER ATE. Oh my. I have a tear in my eye just typing about it....

So now today, Im REALLY disappointed in myself. I must not let it get the best of me and I must get back on meat!

Tracey - welcome back! This is the greatest place to be! Looking forward to you getting to goal once anf for all!!!!

Sharon- Looks like you couldnt resist the chocolate too! We will get right back on track!!! WE WILL!!!

BP- Welcome to onederland!! Theres no stopping you now!!!!

GT- Kelly is so lucky that she still has her cheeks!! When I got down to 113, I looked like Skelator. (He's the bad man from the old He-Man cartoons in case ya didnt know)

CC- You just know waay to much. that is sooo cool.

Becky- You are awesome. Just wanted to point that out. I love that you can add in some brocolli and keep it at that. you are doing soooo well.

and I am so happy that Gwn is back and safe. GWN, I CANT WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR ADVENTURES!!!!!!

Even though Im still high on carbs from that cake, and Im bound to be a crazy miserable witch the next few days, I am so happy and excited for everyone right now!!!!! Lets get skinny peeps!!!!

Okay, here is my update... I have been MIA, my mind has not been great due to a total no carb diet for 4 1/2 months. I am getting weak. But I weigh in on Monday to see if I qualify for my breast reduction. If I lose 5 lbs I will be fortunate. I have to lose 10 according to the weight charts. I have done everything peeps. So, I am not going to eat a thing for 5 days, just drink water and take my thyroid helper. I was also told to take magnesium citrate this weekend to "clean myself out". Basically it will dehydrate me is all, so when I weigh I can be a the best advantage. Thank God this is just one time.

BTY: Primary care Dr appt went great! She stated that I had reversed my diabetes and gave me Kudos for the 51 pounds I have lost. She was shocked at how great my blood pressure was too. I clued her in to what I was doing... she had no problem and just encouraged me to not gain it back... which I doubt I will... i am way too healthy and getting "at that age" to stay healthy or else!!

OK, there are a few things I want to get clear. Is Sugar Free Jello allowed on this diet. The thread that has the QWL diet doesn't mention jello. However I seem to remember it in the original book. Also, I realize there was never FAT FREE cottage cheese back in the late 60's when this book was written, so is FF Cottage Cheese something to be used moderately?

SF Jello has no fat and no carbs. But FF Cottage Cheese has 5 carbs per 1/2 cup. Can I alternate these 5 carbs with something else?

I've been on this diet now since Oct. 29 and I've lost 22 pounds today. I am just looking for alternatives. I started out at 284 (the highest EVER, I was shocked!) and am now down to 262.

Thanks for this site.

Sugar free jello was originally written into the diet in the 1970's. I believe it was 1/2 cup a day. However, Aspartame or Nutrasweet was not on the market then, and it can cause real problems with weight loss in the long run. I almost bought some the other day and put it back... It will keep your sugar cravings awakened along with messing with your neurology.

Fat Free Cottage Cheese is fine, just keep it to 1/2 a day as it does have carbs and lots of sodium, I have used lowfat successfully as well in the beginning of the diet. It is also the HIGHEST form of protein you can eat... check it out! So when craving a carb, eat your cottage cheese, has been my own strategy. Sans the jello, not worth the chemical imbalance and ongoing craving for sugar.

True, so true. . It is such a balancing act. . I've read its OK. . I've heard of peeps who have used it and still lost consistently. . I've heard of peeps who have consumed one diet pepsi and their system gets thrown out of whack. . I guess you have to consider several things;

1. How well you can tolerate "artificial sweetner"
2. If it kicks off cravings or if 1/2 cup will satisfy you. .
3. If you have thyroid issues (I believe it does mess it up, in my case, especially).
4. If it is going to keep you from "cheating" or eating anything else you shouldn't. . it may be worth the trade off. .

I don't know some days. . there is so much research and so many conflicting ideas. . I think the real answer is to find what works for you. If you can add a little jello and still lose. . Go for it. . If not. .cut it out. .

I've studied a lot of diets (and tried most of them). . in fact, I just found one that says eat carbs. . lose weight. . I threw it out! No Way. . .Meat feels too great. .

Seriously. . though. I like the idea of protein and veggies. . that is going to be my ultimate goal and once I reach goal, I want to add a few fruits.. I really love the sweetness of fresh fruit and berries. . I think the more natural the item. . the better~! My opinion only, of course! For now, I shall eat meat. . meat. . meat. .

((( pay no mind to the lady behind the curtain. . she loves to argue with herself! ))))

ATWD and IM, your advice on the cottage cheese, jello and sweeteners is spot on BTW.

Remember folks, YMMV on anything.....it's a journey that develops gradually with knowledge and support....we didn't get here overnight, and we won't leave here overnight either.

My mom always tell me, 'Be good to yourself.'

That means a lot of different things in a lot of different ways.

today it's size 30 Guess jeans falling off of me and new peep toe pumps.

And realizing that twenty years ago when I was this size and all I saw was an elephant in the mirror............sometimes you really do have to hit bottom to see over the top. And love what you look like. For now, at the very least.
