Gals! (I'm sneaking on again. . twas really busy last night). .But THANK YOU SO MUCH for the words of encouragement! I feel like I've been gone so long. .it hasn't really been too long but you know how those old habits just keep coming back. . I gotta get back to the gym. .my membership will be up soon and I haven't done anything!

Wild: Thank you for the great advice. .I'm going to give this one more fair shake . .a serious one with no cheating. . and if it doesn't work. .I will definately follow-up with a specialist. . something has to be up. . I've had other (female related) issues so I wonder if those don't go hand/hand. . but. .I've gotta give this another go around. .

Al!!! So happy you are back. I'm sorry you were so sick. Please check in every day from this point forward. .We have weigh in on Friday with Webb. .

Ahh. . Webb. . I am sooo sorry. .I don't know how you are holding up. .I will definately put you and your family on my prayer chain. .So sorry.

I had an OK night. . ate too many almonds but I gotta ease into it, right? No carb withdrawal yet. . I'm dreading that it will hit on Saturday. . taking kids to an amusement park for their Halloween festival. . Leaving at 8:00 on Saturday and planning to return at 4:00 am on Sunday!! Am I insane? Yep. .I am.. .but they had no vacation this year so this is long overdue. .

OK. . will check in tonight.. Huggs to everyone. .

Gwn! We are missing you. . you should be home soon. .(like today or tomorrow) right? I'm gonna email you later and find out what you are doing. . I hope you had the best time ever. . I celebrated for you!

It will be so great to have the old gang back. . Check in , peeps!

Al - I am SO sorry you have been so sick! and to have DH sick as well with kids must have been hard.

Your message is a great reminder to me to go get a flu shot!

I hope you are on the mend and your DH is as well. Wish I lived closer - one of my daughters would have been happy to help you out with the kids.

I think Gwen is due back soon (end of October???)

Oh Swebb, I am so sorry to hear of another loss you and your family are experiencing...will send prayers your way for you and your dad.

AL, I didn't know you had the flu! That can really hit hard...sounds like you had it bad! I hope you are feeling better minute by minute!

I'd like to thank CCGirl, and I think it was IM...for reminding me that cheats really aren't as tasty as I think they would be. That is good to hear...just know that your experience may help keep someone from cheating...

I've been between 164 and 165 for two weeks now...sooooo I'm thinking I will stop eating eggs and see if that gives me a boost. That's about the time I started boiling eggs like a mad woman.

I really like boiled eggs...I like to have a bowlful and have them on hand for a quick grab and go...

I find it hard to believe boiled eggs would make me stall...sometimes I have egg salad with Reduced fat olive oil mayo...maybe that's what did it. Or maybe for some hormonal reason my body just isn't letting go of fat...

TOday for lunch I'm having steak fajita strips...from the frozen food section. They are good...but not something I want to overeat.

If giving up eggs doesn't work, I may try to cut down on coffee/cream.

My 25th high school reunion is this weekend. I'm excited to see old friends...I went and bought a new top and skirt yesterday...both are mediums. I just can hardly believe I can fit into some mediums...that blows my mind!!!!!!

When I graduated I was probably about 140lbs...but after I got married I quickly put on 20 lbs...then had babies...(incredible weight gains with each pregnancy... 80lbs...60lbs...40 lbs... ) after having kids my weight fluctuated between 170 - 212... So I haven't been this small in a mighty long time...

(Sorry in advance if this is TMI) When I was pregnant with my third, I accumulated fat in my belly...that doesn't look like it can go away...3 c-sections and big gains left me with that dreaded "apron"....but it's not as big as it was...so it doesn't bother me too badly. (You won't ever see me in a 2 piece though! haha)

For the last week I have been eating the same thing

Breakfast: 4 slices lower sodium turkey bacon - done in the oven until crispy

snack : 14 raw almonds

Lunch: either grilled hamburger or baked chicken 1/4 (leg and thigh)

snack 14 raw almonds

Dinner: either grilled hamburger, 8 oz sirloin steak or baked 1/4 chicken

If I am still hungry later in the evening I will have a couple of cups of very hot coffee.

I drink a pot of coffee each day - throughout the day and a gallon of Crystal Light (I put a package that makes 2 quarts into an empty gallon milk jug and fill with water).

I take vitamins and 3 TBS Coconut Oil each day.

When Turkey goes on sale later this month I will be stocking up
What an awesome menu! I am gonna start upping things one day and then going super lean another day. Adding in the Almonds kind of scares me but, then maybe my calories have just been too low!!!!

Thanks for the post of your menu!

Also, I am sorry about all you have been going through lately!!! It sounds miserable I will say prayers for you!!!

Just needed to pop in to say hi!!! I am still recovering from the flu. Yesterday was the first day in over a week I felt like a person again. I have been soooo sick and my brain, I think, became disconnected. I have been utterly miserable. (hubby also had the flu which made this the toughest weeks of my life. the kids were ok, thank goodness but it was almost impossible to get through it.) So now Im left with an uncontrollable cough and an ear that doesnt work. I can live with that for a few more days, but enough is enough! I cant remember what its like to sleep laying down!!! Ok. pity party over.
Take care and get better!!! It is so hard when both parents are sick!!!!

msgirl: What is the JUDD plan?

Becky: Congrats on getting into mediums!! Soooooo cool! Geez, it's time for my 40th high school reunion! I'm almost 57 and wondering where all that time went!!

My body is getting used to drinking more water. I've been glugging down the iced tea and water for 2 days and feel like I'm living in the bathroom.

Have not gone to the gym yet today. DH is taking me out for dinner tonight and it's "Italian Night" at our club. I'm gonna try to have a huge salad and a microscopic sized piece of lasagna and a gallon of water!!!!

Just thinking how life goes on and keeps interrupting my plans to get thin! I gotta figure out how to work it all in. Just got an invite from friends to go to dinner and a show this weekend (to see the Fab Four). We are gonna go and that means eating out yet again! I'm gonna plan on having grilled fish and a green salad and I will talk and talk and talk so I'm not tempted to be putting things in my mouth. It's all about friends and family and not about food!!! Right? I need to keep reminding myself of that instead of thinking, "Oh, yeah! Free food! Nice restaurant! Yummy stuff!" And then getting stuffed!

Oh thank you IM! As I was hitting "submit" after posting...i thought, "Nobody really wants to hear about my belly overlap!" haha!

I'll never forget when my Dr. saw the fat developing there...and she had a microexpression of disgust...I knew then it would probably be there after the baby was born!

It is AMAZING what sustaining power meat has!! I hardly ever feel hunger pains...I know it's time for me to eat if I feel a little weak or lethargic...but I rarely have that gnawing hunger...and ever more rarely have intense cravings/desire to pig out. I LOVE this WOE!!!! I wanna stay here!

D & M Smoked Fish, Inc. is Recalling Specific Lots of Haifa Smoked Fish Brand Products Sold Between August 10, 2010 and September 3, 2010 Because of Possible Health Risk
Fri, 08 Oct 2010 13:37:00 -0500

OMG now that's bad timing, isn't it?

D & M Smoked Fish, Inc. (DBA Haifa Smoked Fish) in Jamaica, NY is recalling specific lots of Haifa Smoked Fish brand products listed below because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may possibly suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

A recent bride called her mother one evening in tears. "Oh, Mom, I tried to make grandmother's meat loaf for dinner tonight, and it's just awful! I followed the recipe exactly; I know I have the recipe right because it's the one you gave me. But it just didn't come out right, and I'm so upset. I wanted this to be so special for George because he loves meat loaf. What could have gone wrong?"
Her mother replied soothingly, "Well, dear, let's go through the recipe. You read it out loud and tell me exactly what you did at each step, and together we'll figure it out."

"OK," the bride sniffled. "Well, it starts out, 'Take fifty cents worth of ground beef' ..."

North Carolina Firm Recalls Ready-To-Eat Pork Barbeque Products Due To Possible Salmonella Contamination
Wed, 20 Oct 2010 15:29:37 -0500

The Murphy House, a Louisburg, N.C. establishment, is recalling approximately 4,920 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pork barbeque products that may be contaminated with Salmonella.

I hope all the hunting and fishing my niece has with her father makes her this tough........

BUTTE, MONTANA

Shotgun preteen vs. Illegal alien Home Invaders...

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11-year-old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay-shooting champion since she was nine.

Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.

When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0'Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.

I am up a pound today. The stress of the last couple of days and not eating right or drinking all my water yesterday was reflected on the scale this morning.

I have a fairly "light" day today so will focus on eating my 5-6 small meals and drinking all my liquids.

Hope everyone else is on track to finish October ROCKIN'

Maybe that can be your sons' teams "secret weapon" - TUNA BREATH....just give the front line a package of tuna right before game time - they can breathe on the opponents and momentarily distract them

I can see the headlines now "Somethings FISHY with IM2's (insert real team name) sons Team as the win BIG over xyz Team"

I'm up two pounds and can't understand why?? I know I didn't eat enough to gain like that...I'm not freaking out...yet!

I'm going to go without my CO...maybe I've lost enough to where I need less calories to lose...

I hate the thought of going without CO because of all the benefits...and the appetite supression.

It's so hard to know what to do!

The frozen fajita steak and chicken strips I had have 2 carbs per serving...the whole bag had 10 carbs...it was just meat, but maybe the spices were carby?? I Had 1/2 bag of each yesterday...so that was 10 carbs... I guess I'll only eat those when I have nothing else to chose from.

I hope everyone is having a great day. Thanks CC for all the great reading material.

Hey Friends!

Just checking in real quick before I run out the door. Scale was down a pound today! Yay! That's pretty good considering we DID go out for that Italian dinner at our club last night. As promised, I drank water, water, water. I had a huge leafy green salad with EVOO and ACV. I had half a piece of chicken parm. and I scraped off all the breading and sauce. It was still delicious. They had some kind of an eggplant dish and I had some of the egg plant, but stayed away from all pasta.

Yesterday I went to the gym and sweated for over 2 hours! Very proud of myself for that.

OK, gonna come back later and catch up on reading.

Love you guys!

Haven't been on in a day or two- still doing well. Have not weighed myself in a while- I don't feel like I've lost any more weight this week (mostly due to eating more). I'm also retaining water like a mother-f'er. I might hop on the scale tomorrow though- just to get an idea of where I am.

Let's see, what's new? I got a job- I start training the wednesday after next. It's overnight, so I will be super tired going between class and the 8 hour shifts required. I wish I didn't have to work while doing school full-time, but I have to pay my next-semester bill (after loans) somehow.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

ok I stumbled acroos this headline while researching anoother health issue, don't tell the men...

Oral Sex Linked to Rise in Men's Throat Cancer

Health Index - ABC News

the headline struck me as funny but the content of the article is a concern

"Women more gloomy than men in old age, study says," (_BBC News_, October
21, 2010).
BBC News - Women more gloomy than men in old age, study says

another reason to lighten up, tell a joke and have a cocktail!

this is the news article I was looking for-

Standing Question: Could Sitting Too Long At Work Be Dangerous?
Doctors Warn Sitting Too Long is the New Smoking

full article:

Sitting Too Long At Work Could Pose Health Danger - ABC News

Marc Hamilton, a physiologist at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Louisiana, discovered that when he prevented lab mice from standing up, an enzyme that burns fat gets turned off, which can lead to weight gain.

"This enzyme is virtually shut off within hours of not standing, completely independent of diet, completely independent of weight changes," Hamilton said. "I think sitting is very dangerous."

A study published by the American Journal of Epidemiology showed that sitting for long stretches, more than six hours a day, can make someone at least 18 percent more likely to die from diabetes, heart disease and obesity than those sitting less than three hours a day.

__________________________________________________ _____________________

now this really pisses me off. No analysis of diet here at all. I'm sure if sitting was the culprit then there would be no thin office personnel, which we already know to be false.

It's nice that the media wants to report this for the good of it's audience, but for the medical community AGAIN to blame something completely unrelated like desk work for the rampant obesity in our world just enrages me. Just like all the commercials on the tube for whole grain goodness. It makes me want to rip my hair out.
