My goals are pretty simple:

To keep my weight loss journal and note everything I put into my mouth, both good and not so good..
To leave the 150's in the dust
To log into LCF every day for the needed support
To "Weight" until September to weigh in (thank you, Mim)
To eat only meat. . no carb shall touch these lips. . and if one should happen to fall into said mouth, I will promptly confess and get on with my life. I will not let it ruin my hour, day, week or year!
To take it one minute at a time
To marvel at my successes and ignore my negative thoughts
To think about exercise. . notice I said "think!"
To do something nice for someone or myself every day!!

Happy August, Friends!

I forgot today was the 1st... I absentmindly had cream in my coffee..

BUT!!! I have a brand new package of green tea that I will be trying. Gonna go brew some now and stick it in the fridge for a few hours. Can anyone list some pros and cons of the tea. I remember someone getting sick from it or their blood sugar dropping??? Dont remember but I'll only have one cup to start!

I am doing Lean for Life now but for the protein days I will do Stillman which will be every Monday. This combo works for me since I get a little variety or at least it did in 2004. Gosh I can't believe I goofed around for so long and am just now getting focused again.
My Goals
1. Maintain my action plan by completing a page for each day
2. Weigh and post my weight each day to my action plan
3. Increase my water abd decrease my diet cokes
4. Plan my food choices in advance
5. Don't foget my vitamins
6. Dig out my ttapp tapes (yes tapes) and start again

Just downed my green tea. Definitely couldnt sip slow. Took it like a true coconut oil eater! Since its supposed to be good for me and promote weight loss, I think I will try brewing a pitcher and adding my CL peach tea. Perhaps this will be more pleasant.

So whats for lunch? Im having tuna. Dont be jealous now..

I had my chicken, mixed greens, and tomato last night (added shredded cheddar and balsamic - so bad but oh so good!)

Tonight I will do the same without the cheese and hopefully without the balsamic.

IM2 - are you using fat free dressing or lemon or vinegar?

Sharon- Are you out there? Are you OK? Miss ya!

Hi Peeps

Thanks for making the new thread IM2! I loved reading your recap on July and goals for August. Way to really put it down in writing! I checked on ****** and I was 170lbs on June 30th so I have lost about 13lbs this month. I weighed in at 156.6 this morning so just .2 above sig. I can't believe I got back to sig by incorporating lean ground beef in my diet. I know I keep saying it but I've lost a pound a day for the last three days in a row. Maybe I will continue to eat it? I actually lost more than I was expecting... Especially since I had two gains this month and had to work a whole week or more to get the pounds back off. Dontcha just hate that?!

So... my goal for August is to reach my first goal of 147. Remaining hopeful that I can accomplish said goal. An even bigger goal would be to not gain more than 10lbs while in Europe!! I can't deal with walking around in clothes that are tight on me and swollen ankles. Oh yes, did I tell you peeps after my incident a week ago with the guacamole and chips my ankles were so swollen for like 3 days! It's unreal how I just retain water...

to all of you!

Gwn- Is your trip to Europe completely alone or are there people you know meeting up in different areas along the way?? I still think its sooo amazing that you are doing this. Up and leaving to live some life! Exciting! Awesome!!! You dont even seem nervous at all. I can hardly even take a plane ride myself!

I think if you stick with meat, beans and veggies, and whole grain dark breads, you'll be a ok with all that exercise you'll be getting. If you indulge in a rare dessert, pick the smallest one. I wouldnt be able to deprive myself of all those different foods to try, but as long as you taste test, you should do great. I bet you even come back thinner then when you leave!!!

Al, When I get the iced green tea from Starbucks, they usually dilute it with water... Unless I want a real jolt, I get a small and don't have them dilute it. But if it's a venti, then I need the water because the flavor is too strong otherwise.

I have a confession guys.... The last three days that I've had two hamburgers for dinner, I've wrapped them in a piece of iceberg lettuce and I sliced 1 plum tomato and put one slice of pepper jack cheese on each. I know I know, not QWL but I've lost a pound a day for three days, it's crazy! It's more like Atkins I guess. But I eat my 1-2 hardboiled eggs for breakfast, about 8-10ozs of grilled chicken for lunch and then two burgers for dinner. Plus I've been getting in my 4 tablespoons of coconut oil every day via the CO bark. My calories are definitely much higher now, like maybe double my 700 calories I seem to consume on QWL. But like everything else, as long as I'm losing weight, I am okay and my level of sanity is so much more thankful for the way I've eaten the last few days. I feel better now that you all know what I've really been eating so that when the loss slows you can tell me exactly what I need to cut out!

Al, yea I am going alone, the only way I like to travel so I can meet lots of new people. I am meeting some people in Munich for Oktoberfest though, but I have never met these people in person before, we've been corresponding online. I feel pretty good about it, a bunch of people I met on a travel site who go to Oktoberfest every year, some married couple will be hosting me, etc. I am going to put up a travel blog so I will post a link before I leave in case anyone is interested, ha. If I can ever get a chance to log in here, I definitely will.

One big breast or two thin breasts, lol. I know that doesn't really answer your question... I estimate it since I usually eat that at work and they're usually sliced on the thin side (for sandwiches) so I usually get two.

You should definitely try the CO... It can't really hurt... I am wondering if that's what's really helping here!?

Gwn. .My opinion is you are keeping your body guessing. . I think it gets too used to one thing and fights it. .

Great job either way. . I'm gonna shock mine into just eating meat for a few days. . . .

Thanks guys. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me though. But I do find talking to people that they think it's "brave". I practically raised myself and have been completely on my own since I was 17 so I think independence just runs through my veins. I am more worried about what I will do when I return than the trip itself. I AM quitting my job, afterall. Working my butt off to get some cash in my savings before I say hasta la vista!

It's a dreary day here... They said there was a chance of rain all day but it's just gloomy, no rain yet. Hope it holds out until I bike home!

What's on the agenda for this week, people?

Gwen, the fact that you are comfortable traveling by yourself shows that you like you! A lesson many of us can use. I bet you will find another job quickly when you get back. Do you want to keep doing what you are doing or are you thinking about another line of work?

August 1st is a GREAT day to start my diet.... a clean start!

I took a lot of naps today! The only thing I am not happy with is my water intake, but I will get that back on track tomorrow.

I will go to Wal-Mart tonight for some Midol..... I'm feeling so bloated! I press on my skin and I can see my fingerprints. Will this Midol help with this.... how long will it take to kick in?

Oh, what kind of ground beef should I get? I know that Al is a big fan of beef and eats them like it is a bowl of ice cream. I want to go to Wal-Mart at 11:00 to stock up. I stocked up a little bit several days ago, but I want to get more!!

I bought a small can of salmon.... wonder how it will taste compared to Tuna. I haven't even opened the can yet!

I have a can of salmon that I bought like 3 or 4 months ago and have yet to open it. I am grossed out by it before I've even tried it! Someone made a comment once about sometimes it has some slimy bits and I wanted to so in my cabinet it sits. I buy the 93% lean ground beef, not sure what Al gets. My only solution to bloating is drinking more water! It eventually flushes it all out... the more dehydrated you are, the more your body will retain that water.

Thanks! I heard the same thing about Salmon.... I went ahead and opened the can. I couldn't finish it so I gave the rest to the dog. The taste is very dry and bland!!!

I will drink lots of water tomorrow!!

Dustin! get some Gorton's frozen salmon or talapia. . I'm telling you. you won't be disappointed. . I've been using a lot of mustard and vinegar for seasonings lately. . even on my chicken. .hot sauce and/or vinegar give it a kick and it boostes metabolism!! Try it. . you'll like it. . If you have a Kroger down there. . They have some frozen fish. . (Kinda packaged like the quick frozen chicken breasts). . and they go on sale for $2.99 a package. . I stick with the Talipia and I marinade it in Fat Free zesty Italian and put it on the grill.. . MMmmm. .it is the best fish ever. . mild. .mild. .mild. .OK . hold on. gotta go see if I have some in the freezer for dinner tomorrow. . .hehehe

I can't quite force myself to do canned salmon either. .yeehhhwooowww. .

I bought some albacore the other day (I'm usually too cheap) and let me tell you .. it was definately different than regular tuna. . I didn't like it. .plus. . I found a bone in it. . I'm not kidding . a big ole bone. not like a fishy one. . but a thick one! Yuck. that's the last time I spend that much money for Albacore!

I was pretty good today. .my only bad was my water intake. I go in streaks and right now I have to make an effort to get it in. Tomorrow, at work, I will make a point of getting a new glass every time I get up. . That way. . I have to finish what I have before I can even go to the bathroom. . . . I have to play games with myself some days. .

I did pack my lunch. .(Tuna mustard and celery seed). . and my breakfast. .chicken breast. . plus I'll throw in a couple of boiled eggs just in case! I'm thinking grilled fish for dinner!
