Wow!! That's an incredible coupon savings!! That's terrific!!
My hubby and I went to a nice italian restaurant...i had a grilled chicken dinner...I scraped off all the cheesy, creamy sauce and didn't eat the side veggies. That is all I had all day in addition to my vitamins and CO. Not too much else to report... We had back to school registration today...my Quote:

Boy, can I relate!!! I've been amazed by people who can eat half a burger, a few fries and then a few bites of dessert...and be satisfied...and skinny...
Those people are like aliens to me...How do they do it? The Bible says,"All things in moderation"...and when it comes to my appetite, I fail at that...But I do have so much more self control on Stillmans! I think I'm going to go buy me some beef soon!! : ) Quote:

Thanks AL for sharing this...between this info and IM's coupon's...I'm going to save tons! : )
Really, it was comforting to know this is normal...especially after reading this article A cautionary tale of mucus fore and aft | The Blog of Michael R. Eades, M.D. Someone posted it elsewhere on LCF...it's Dr. Mike Eades and he discusses our obsession with fiber and poop...haha It's quite radical compared to what I've always read and been told ---that our bodies needs lots of fiber. I've gone through phases where I ate lots of flax, or Fiber One cereal...thinking I was doing something really good for my body. On Stillmans' I was concerned that I wasn't "going" enough...but I couldn't help but notice how most of the time I didn't feel gassy or bloated...(unless it was TOM or Ovulation...) Now I'm not worried about that... I tend to go for the health craze that makes sense to me...I've made the spinach shakes that Fawn posted about...I've done the egg cream shakes...the daily flax muffins...I even ordered Colonix and tried that...with no real beneficial results... ![]() So I'm hoping the things I've learned this go around will stick...and are truly good for me. I don't want to just fall for the latest trend...I guess in our quest for health and fitness we may make a few wrong turns...but we keep on reaching...and trying... (I'm not saying the things listed above were wrong...but they weren't doable long term for me. ) This gives me something so my husband will be able to look at me, shake his head and say, "you are weird, but I love you!" |

hi y'all, just a quick check in before I go to town......lots of garage sales , no junk is safe from me!
![]() Beck-I too am amzaed at the obsession of fiber, let alone carbs, fruits and veggies that the media is constantly blasting our way. It all goes back to the USDA food pyramid tale-formed by a bunch of businessmen in the 60's, based on nothing.....except maybe the farm lobby political machine! Google "What if it's all been a big fat lie" an article in the New York Times......like Eades, he knew our bodies pretty much only need meat and fat to live well. Feeling backed up? 1000 mg magnesium does the trick-but make sure you are HOME 12 hours later! Seriously, whoosh city. Gwn, portion control is all about deprivation, i.e. WW, which never works. In the article the Naive Vegetarian-another long one-one of the most interesting points the author makes is how our bodies were never designed to digest carb from grain or even eat grain at all. One of the reasons we gain on grains is that the chemical makeup of them does not trigger the 'I am full and will stop eating" reflex that fats and proteins do. Remeber the old days when you knew you were full but couldn't stop putting food in your mouth? I mean seriously unbutton the pants, can't stand up eating? THAT's the grains blocking those shutoff reflexes. Soooooooo...........Squish especially........EAT UP! Your natural wild thang body will tell you when to put down the burger or turkey leg. Kamill's old avi was spot on-the cavegirl running with a blow dryer in one hand and a pteradactyl leg (giant prehistorc chicken) in the other! B-one egg scramble +1 slice nitrite free bacon, coffee. have a great day-will try to check in tonight if I get home early but I doubt it, garage sales + nail appt=long day![]() Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them. As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life. She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one. I rescued a human today. ![]()

just sitting here thinkin about poop...You know....everything is about money....sadly, even our health. I wouldnt be surprised if Charmin paid out big bucks to convince everyone it was healthy and regular to go 3 times a day!! Thats what you do when you want to sell TP!!! What the heck is regular anyway??? Why would we want to force our bodies to produce that must waste? What benefit are we getting from something thats not even being used up, its just running its course and quickly coming out?? I dont know.. Thats just the pro-meat gal screaming from the inside of me. I just dont know who/what to believe anymore...
..no reponses necessary... My thoughts have nothing to do with sound medical knowledge. ![]() |

Well, they weren't terrible...and they had really healthy stuff in there...but it was time consuming to make and it didn't really help with cravings...so that phase didn't last long for me.
One reason I like Stillman's is that it's quick and easy preparation... When I was just low carbing, I would spend all this time putting together a LC casserole or making the LC desserts (the pumpkin bake was a favorite) But I found myself dwelling on thoughts like, "What am I going to eat? Do i have all the ingredients I need" etc... Now I just grab some meat and i'm good to go! haha Right now, food is just fuel... I always say, "Right now" because I can't say what tomorrow will bring...If something makes me get sick of Tuna and Tilapia, I'm not sure what I will do...I'm just living in "right now" |

I was looking at pics from 03 - 04...
I weighed 155 then... And I'm wondering, "Why in the world did I let myself get to 209???' And I'm thinking, "It will take me FOREVER to get back in the 150's" That actually seems impossible... But I know not to dwell on those negative thoughts....and I know just to keep on truckin' I may never get to the 150's....but I can get in better shape than I was, and than I am... I guess it all depends on my perspective ... glass half full- half empty view. I hope everyone's having a great Saturday! |
