swebb: Yeah for Victory!! You'll want to jump out of bed and feel thinner tomorrow!

Seems like everyone who is posting is jumping on board with great enthusiasm. 9 more months till bikini season! Autumn is almost here, as the sun is going down faster out here in California! I am getting my house all clean and organized. (long time coming)I can't wait for those cozy winter evenings!! Trampolining of course... : ) The Stillmans diet is giving me discipline in other areas too! I am grateful.

Sharon: Woo-Hoooo!

Im 2: Some days are more like that than others, don't you think? Some days I feel like the biggest, pigginest, fattest lump of lard on earth! Other days I look in the mirror and think 'C'mon, you are not THAT bad!! Oh well, we just gotta keep on doin' what we know we should do and not believe any self-talkin' lies on one extreme or the other.

Anything: Glad your day went good. Mine, too and I'm very proud of myself.

Protein shake for breakfast.
Chicken breast and drumstick for lunch w/ a tsp of mayo.
1 cup Romaine lettuce; half cup sliced cucumber; diced chicken breast, 1 slice mozzerella cheese; chopped up chicken breast all mixed up in a salad, drizzled w/ EVOO and ACV.

Just popping in before I head to bed. Catch ya 'all in the A.M.

OMG. Al-no truer words were ever spoken!

I saw a colleague that I hadn't seen since March who has gained forty pounds. She is heartbroken, going to the doctor for batteries of tests and the like. When it became clear that the only thing in her life that had changes was her consumption of beer I knew it was all over but the screaming. I didn't have the heart to say anything, just kept supportive and concerned. How sad

Thank goodness for vodka!

Habits aren't stupid and neither are you. Habits are learned behavior from a repetitive environment. Learning that some habits are destructive leads to new ones, like loving yourself and forgiving. We're human. We make mistakes. The lesson is repeated until it is learned. Then we move on to the next one. Forgive and move on. We know you can do it!

mmmmmmmmm...I'm still less than I was when I started! ....I have the most awesome family and I know where my priorities lie...several of my bros. & sis's are not in the greatest of health, so spending time with them and encouraging them is a joy. Being a Grandma is a joy!....time-consuming too! But totally worth it!! I can still crawl around with the grandies and chase the 2 year old and cart around the 6 month old. Thank God for a healthy body! Sometimes I forget how much it does for me!!!

And....I have all of you to motivate me, not judge me and help me get back on the right track!

Last night I dreamed about Dustin Hoffman in the movie "Rainman". Instead of saying that famous line in the Nevada casino...."We're counting cards, yeah, we're counting cards" he was saying "We're counting carbs, yeah, we're counting carbs!"

I gotta dig out my little carb counter booklet and put it in my purse instead of guessing. Today I ate half a banana because my DH left it on the counter top. Have no idea how many carbs were in it 'cos I don't have that little book handy. Ate it anyway! Bad! Bad! Bad Yam-Yam!!

That's how I've been lately. Mouth open. Stick something in it; just because it's there!

I know what I should be doing. Know Stillman's plan inside out. I just have to WANT to do it and then REALLY DO IT!!!

I always felt somehow "outside" that group because I would lose and then gain or stall....somehow the reports of everyone having a great week always rang false with me. Then I was always reluctant to share if I had gained or stalled. I am sure these groups did not intend to make me feel like I was being judged (once again) and coming up short - but that is how I felt. So I would leave and go back to my bad habits....never working my way through all the struggles on my way to success - just failing....again.

Here I feel that people DO understand the struggle. People here stall, gain, fall back into bad habits BUT they come back and try again.....

I am trying to live a real life and include low carbing into that life. I am trying to be more healthy and live longer and fuller. For the past 5 months I have been MOSTLY successful and this is in large part due to the support of this group.

So, my message is PLEASE post, check-in - even if you haven't followed Stillman's to a "T", even if you are struggling, even when you are gaining or stalled and especially when you are successful. Your success and struggles really DO help me to get through mine.

Love to everyone out there!

Ugh, dontcha just love it when modern medicine has a better idea? Just what we all need, another wrench thrown into the dynamic. Don't think so!

So put your feet on the path and go. Yes, it's great to want to see the end of the path and the Emerald City at the end, but it will be a long strange trip and worth it just so. There will be evil witches and flying monkeys. But perseverance and faith will get you there. Then you can click your heels three times and go home. Skinny.

Morning, peeps!

What is on the agenda for today? I'm off to the soup kitchen with my boy this morning. last one of the summer! Its hard to believe our summer is dwindling down. I guess a new beginning is what i need. Back into the school routine and perhaps the losing routine! My boy has his first football game tonight so I will be surrounded by all those snacks! I'll say no. .I will. . I will. . been out of eggs for the last few days and its killing me. I'm at a loss for breakfast but I suppose I can whip up some Tuna. . considering I have a case hidden away. . I should be good for a day or two. . I really, really have to get back to cooking for my family. . I miss it and I am sure they do too. .

Gwn's trip is right around the corner. I sure wish she's log in so we could send her off the Stillman's weigh, already!

Well. .gotta jump in the shower and get this old body moving. .

this is a cheat free zone! Let's kick the scale, kiss the mirror and wear something that makes us feel good! Happy Hump Day!

The scale was trying to entice me to the dark side this morning......I pointed my light saber (sonic toothbrush) and vanquished it for the day

So far this morning 5 pieces of turkey bacon, extra crispy and a Coconut Bark cube (last one so I need to make some more).

Coffee - 2 cups black ...... one had a dog hair in it - does that count as extra protein??

Planning on having a tuna pouch for lunch with salt free Lemon Pepper seasoning.

Grilled Turkey Breast basted with CO and Garlic for dinner.......

Some Morning Humor

My apologies to any attorney's (I come from a family of them - but I am not one)

ATTORNEY : Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS : No.
ATTORNEY : Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS : No.
...ATTORNEY : Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS : No.
ATTORNEY : So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS : No .
ATTORNEY : How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS : Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY : I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS : Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

Great going Stillman losers! Sounds like there is new resolve this week!
I have stalled once more. I am about ready to pick up that thyroid medication I declined last week (I know it is the wrong type), but after a week of stalling, with a one lb loss, and then stalling again, I am wondering what is wrong. I am sooo not cheating! And exercising. I am really wanting this metabolism to speed up!! One can not eat low calories, absolutely no fat and still not lose weight, can they???? Yes, I am drinking all the water, every last ounce.

You got it! Sending up prayers and faith that you can do it!!!

Boy, thyroid problems must be the worst. It's like trying to drive a car with the brakes on, huh? That's what it sounds like to me and you have my sympathy for sure.

Just keep doing what's right. Even if you are losing slowly or maintaining, at leat you are not gaining.

Hugs!!!

OK, my Dear Ones!!! This will be my official re-start day and I'm feelin' the momentum building. The anticipation. Expectation. Exhilleration (don't know how to spell that! ...uh, I'm pumped!

Scale says 218. That's 11 pounds over what I was down to in July. Bummer. But past is past. Atkins says there is absolutely no room for shame in this game. We mess up. We put it in the past. We get on with the task ahead.

So far I've only had 3 cups weak coffee w/ 1 tsp. cream in each this morning. Not feeling hungry and that's a good thing.

However, I have a top sirloin steak in the fridge and the GF grill at hand and I'm looking forward to steak and eggs as my next meal. I just bought some organic eggs yesterday so they should be yummy.

Started taking my vitamins again yesterday. So, I'm doing some things right.

I'm not going to sabatoge myself by saying "I have to lose X amount of pounds in a week" or even that I expect to!!! That always sets me up for disappointment. When I usually start Stillman's I say "OMGosh! I'm doing so great and I'm so psyched this time! I'm going to lose 10 pounds in a week!" Then when I lose less than that, I am bummed.

Not gonna do it! 'Wouldn't be prudent!!!

I'm setting a FIRST goal of losing 30 pounds. That's it. That's the goal. (Do you guys mind if I'm talking to myself??? I need a motivational self-help sermon right now!!!)

It's a "whenever" goal and will take into consideration that there will be slips and falls and whooshes and micro progress sometimes and speed-of-light progress at others.

I read that "not everyone can run 100 yards in 10 seconds. but almost everyone can run 100 yards."

On another note, I live in northern CA and it's supposed to reach 106 degrees today! It's already really, really hot! Yesterday hit 104!!

I may seriously go jump in a lake! We have a nice, swiimmable lake near by.

Tomorrow I might go to Curves and take advantage of a free week coupon I have. It is a 19 mile drive each way, but I'm feeling like I NEED to move more and also need the motivation of being with other women who are working out.

OK! So, this is the first day of the rest of my LIVE-IT!!! (I was gonna day "diet" but it does have the word "die" in it so forget that!!

Keep up the cheer leading!! Today is my third day and I have not been experiencing any of those headaches or the crabiness.... just a tad, but nothing compared to my previous starts. I think it is because I have been popping Midol, Potassium, Magnesium and a Multi-vitamin.

I think the CO is starting to help out.... it is causing a slight case of diarrhea, but I think that is normal when starting out.

As for my surgery, I was diagnosed with Lattice Degeneration 6 years ago. I had to go to the retina specialist every 6 months to monitor the thin spots in my retina. Last week, he proclaimed that it is time for me to have the laser surgery. It will be quick and the surgery will eliminate retina detachment.

Retinal detachment - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Left eye is Sept 2 and Right eye is on Sept 9. I will be able to go back to work on next day.... I will be playing a pirate! Purple eye patch? Pink?

Wow I was just sitting here trying to talk myself out of doing some exercise thinking of a million other things I could do but after reading all your inspiring posts I think I will go the the gym for a little while and burn some calories! Work has been crazy for the past couple days but after Thursday I'm on vacation for a week!!! Super good news My plan is to clean and organize around the house. I'm sure I'll feel so much better getting it done. My boys first football game is Friday and its an away game so I was trying to plan what to do for snacks. Its a four hour drive just to get there so I know we'll have to stop after the game.

Thanks for all the jokes they were all too funny! loved em

Thanks guys for the encouragement!!!

Even though I was "dying for carbs" and there was nothing in the fridge but eggs, which I hate, I stuck to it for two days and lost 4 lbs!! Some of it was water weight, I know, but it still feels good.

So good, in fact, that today I'm eating those horrid eggs and thinking "why would I eat anything else?" Remind me of that when I want junk food again!

I have fajita meat marinating in the fridge today, but of course if I fry that with peppers it won't be low-fat. At the end of day 3 I usually start switching to Atkins anyway, so maybe I will treat myself. Or nuke the peppers instead and keep losing?? maybeeee......

Smallersizing: I have been eating just organic eggs for three days too. Are they addicting or what? Lol. Today I mixed the yolks with mustard instead of cottage cheese and they tasted just like a treat!!! I have allowed myself 6 instead of 3 because I don't have any meat at all.
swebb; Good for you not giving into temptation!
Mustang810; I am going to think of you while I dig through all these papers.
Yam -Yam; Thank you for your prayers. I really need it. The Lord is NOT happy with the amount of papers I need to go through! 1/2 of my living room looks like it should be on one of those "Clean Your House" programs!!

WATER ALERT!

I have been drinking 100 oz of Distilled water per day. THIS IS A MISTAKE!!! There are absolutely no minerals in it, and it is acidic, which also means that it is leaching the plastic into the water!! I just had it replaced with spring drinking water and will just have to use up the distilled since the bottle is already overturned into the jar and half full!

Could this be why I am not losing weight? Because my body is too acidic? That coupled with acidic meat... I am pretty acidic!! Alkaline is the healthy arena to be at. Anyway I wanted to spare anyone out there to not drink distilled water. We need our minerals especially now!

CC, thanks for you encouragement. Love the pictorial as well. Man, there really are land minds out there arn't there...

Well, I've finally stopped with TOM. Yep, one solid mo. of pure JOY is now gone. PRAISE THE LORD!

Had a wonderful day. For some ODD reason the hunger is gone and I'm not starving to death. WIth my hormones finally chilling out I think my blood sugar has gotten back to normal. Honestly, I'm really thinking that HRT isn't all that. I'm not perimeno yet so why mess with it.

My weight was 149.4 today. ARGH. But, at least it wasn't 167 when I started back in Aug last yr. MAN, IT MAKES ME INSANE to thing that all my hard work just kept flushing down the drain all these 7 yrs. .. I thought I was just doomed to eat 1100 cals a day and maintain. It was insanity. I HATE PROGESTERONE! OK, I'm done with my rant.

So glad I have you gals to get me to the home stretch. ! Let's lose 3 lbs a week ladies. Oh, and I started back to working out today. Did 35 mins on the Treadmill. Gonna hold off on the weight training till I'm at goal.

Hugs, and have a wonderfully, successful day in LCWorld.

Beth

WTG everyone! Here's to meat!

Finally it's going to warm up around here, we have had lows in the high 40's since Mom arrived. Nothing like a little winter to dull your spirits but we'll be in the high 80's by Monday...yippeeeeeeee. Did a pedi last night in anticipation of open toed shoes!

Now if I can just figure out what to eat for the rest of the week. We have had beef stew and chicken soup in the chilly weather.

I figured out how to stay close to plan with Mom on board-I just give her all the veggies! I am NOT going to gain 8 pounds like last time, I swear. (fingers crossed)

Well, off to look in the freezer for vittles........have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!
