I always felt somehow "outside" that group because I would lose and then gain or stall....somehow the reports of everyone having a great week always rang false with me. Then I was always reluctant to share if I had gained or stalled. I am sure these groups did not intend to make me feel like I was being judged (once again) and coming up short - but that is how I felt. So I would leave and go back to my bad habits....never working my way through all the struggles on my way to success - just failing....again.

Here I feel that people DO understand the struggle. People here stall, gain, fall back into bad habits BUT they come back and try again.....

I am trying to live a real life and include low carbing into that life. I am trying to be more healthy and live longer and fuller. For the past 5 months I have been MOSTLY successful and this is in large part due to the support of this group.

So, my message is PLEASE post, check-in - even if you haven't followed Stillman's to a "T", even if you are struggling, even when you are gaining or stalled and especially when you are successful. Your success and struggles really DO help me to get through mine.

Love to everyone out there!
Wow! What a wonderful post. I sooooooo relate to the group meeting situation. I felt the same way and finally just decided I could not go back to that.

Well said, my Dear. You have had such success. I'm proud of you.

LEts do this once and for all. Let's make sure to write everything we put in our mouths here on the board and be accountable to each other. Amounts and portions as well.

Beth: Ooh, Sweetie. Hope you can get all that stuff cleared up. What a bummer that you have to go through that. Hugs.

You want ACCOUNTABLE?? In one month I managed to go from "low carb but not Stillman's" to "good glycemic foods" to "what the hey, just eat what I see." For instance yesterday I had cinnamon doughnuts with cream cheese dip at O'Charleys. I won't go into any more of the gory details for fear of setting a bad example.

You are absolutely right about being able to say that and not getting chewed out about "not really wanting it" and all that. This is real life. I lost 30 plus pounds this year, and put 10 back on in one fell swoop. I'm back in it to win it now, and I know I'll have some weak points, so I need you all to help me!

By the way, right now I'm DYING FOR SOME CARBS!!!

Menu today:

B 1 hard boiled egg
Coffee with stevia and almond milk

S less than an ounce of peanuts, dry roasted:blush:

L 2 hard boiled egg
Pepsi One

S 1 oz nonfat cottage cheese

D 2 1.5 oz sandwich steaks marinated in Allegro

Sorry but my slow internet is taking forever to sync my phone, so I can't do a calorie count. I'm pretty sure it's around 500.

We need motivation badly peeps!! I think it must be the end of the Summer blues!
I so caved on that muffin--I know yall knew I would!!! And then I caved and caved some more!! It would take too long to type what I ate!!
But as of yesterday I am back on plan 100% (yes I know I said it before,, but I mean it this time! I was on my bike for 2hours this morning too.(go me!) I'm not gonna have anymore false starts--don't want it to be the curse of the vacation!!! (Sorry Al--you know I love ya lots!)
Anyway I have my Mum doing it!! She has me driven crazy asking all sorts--like is sweet and sour chicken ok--nope it ain't(unfortunately!)!! But I'm really glad she's doing it! So I have to be good and be a good influence!!!
Still no net at home so I can only check in from time to time! But I really miss not being able to dip in and out and OMG do I miss the internet!!!
Ok I've nothing more to report and there's a queue of people behind me! Going to do some clothes shopping (I love being a lady of leisure!) And boy do I love clothes---that is theeeeee most positive thing for me and Stills--being able to go to any shop I want and buy (basically!) anything I want!! Lots of hugs!! BBL!!

OK Then! I didn't really start yesterday because I have to go shopping today. But, I will post what I ate:

Protein shake made with 20 grams whey protein - 4 carbs, Green tea, 2 tsp psyllium husks (6 grams fiber),

3 scrambles eggs in EVCO

1 can tuna on lettuce w/ evoo and ACV

1 baked chicken breast with a few green beans and more lettuce

Drank about 90 ounces of water! Also about 16 ounces extra green tea.

Took my vitamins.

Getting my body ready for success!

I soooooooo identify with that progressive reasoning! It made me crack up to see how similar we are. And, yesterday I was seriously dying for carbs. Carbs make you hungry for what? MORE CARBS!! I absolutely have to start looking at carbs as poison for my body.

I will take that 1 lb lost this morning. Even though I really wanted three pounds lost, and felt that I deserved it. (Ugh the problem with entitlement!) But I thought "I am not going to stay with this if I am ungrateful for the gift of grace I have been given the last 22 days!" At least I broke one stall. I was soooo tired yesterday, that I didn't exercise at all! Just busy with laundry and running around. So today, this morning I plan on making myself rebound for 30 minutes!! And then I am not going out of the house until I make a dent in my paperwork that has been staring at me all summer!! So I didn't have a woosh, but I will take that one pound weight loss, and will get back on track this morning with trampolining! Thank you for your support!!!
Yum-yum: I had 2 eggs (organic) with organic nonfat cottage cheese enough to make deviled eggs! for breakfast. (I will be on eggs for awhile till I can afford meat!)

GT: Don't feel bad about the muffin...and other stuff. Just move on. Looks like you are! Good girl!!

I woke up this morning feeling really good and confident.

Gonna grocery shop and make a plan.

It actually feels good to be planning to be in control again. I'm not dreading start day like I usually do. I usually fret about it alot and do a bunch of doubting self talk like "you won't even make it 'till noon". Yuck, huh?

None of that today! Got my grocery list ready and my gas tank full.

I re-did my stats and I put tomorrow as my new start date because I don't actually want to start hardcore 'til tomorrow. I'm going to try Atkins '72 for a while just because I've never done it before and mostly because I can have real cream in my coffee! Not even half 'n half but real heavy cream. Hallelujah! That will be a terrific start to each day!

BBL after shopping.

Smallersizing and Yam Yam; That is the beauty of Stillmans! There is no room for rationalizing a carb! And it really is a detox diet of sorts if you have been addicted to sugar etc... That is why I no longer drink diet colas (one reason). I still do use Stevia in my tea and a pinch in the deviled egg with Cot. cheese. I am considering leaving that too, and wonder if that Stevia (although zero carbs) may be stalling me? It is a small pleasure to have it though. I only have about 3 little packets at most each day.

AWD: Congrats on that 1 pound loss! Happy dance for you! And, kudos on the exercise. My carb indulgence has made me tired and I have not even been going for walks or anything.

Plannning to break out all my exercise stuff in a few days and remedy that!

I have not had breakfast yet, but I'm planning another home make protein shake. Mostly because it keeps me full and gets my mind off food for several hours.

I'm thinking I should stop @ the pharmacy and get some ketostix because in the book, Atkins says if you use them you can determine your tolerance for carbs. Never even heard of them before I joined the LCF's!!

OK, really gotta go!

Yam Yam; It is better that you start off with Atkins if you are going to do it, rather than start off with Stillmans and go off the wagon! At least you will be setting yourself for more success that way. (in my opinion) Cause once you are on Stillmans, you are ON it! : )
