Thank you Alerieaaa and CCgirl for your encouraging words! I so appreciate it. In response to the "boob" jpbs, I am wanting a breast reduction. It costs about 10,000. However, if I make my goal, which I will, the insurance will kick in and pay for it. Now how is that for motivation? A breast enhancement costs about the same in California. It was half the price for most surgeons last year. Surgeons told the "their cost is going up..." I suppose for the hospital, really?? To GwnStfni, just know that you are protected as you travel. Holland is very clean, I hear, and the food should be as well. Certainly they have carb counters somewhere over there? You won't have access to the internet to log onto lo carb friends?

Soo I got about 3 hours of sleep because my AC is broken and it's about 100 degrees in my house...yuck. But on the plus side I woke up .8lb thinner...for a total of....8lbs lost (I couldn't lose a LB!!) I lost a few lbs before starting Stillmans but this diet really is working and kicked start my weight loss. I'm SO excited. The boyfriend will be home in 8 days...and I know I can lose some more weight before that time! (And after that of course!) I haven't been below 148 in...... 3 years...! So it's a wonderful feeling. Goodbye forever 150's!!
Have a nice day everyone. |

Good Morning!
I got some sleep and left for work at 7:00am. I just had half a piece of chicken and took my vitamins. I had my jar of CO on the counter and the heat from the crockpot turned the jar of solid oil into liquid. Made it much easier to take the oil. Will this cause any problems? I moved the jar off the counter into the cupboard, away from the heat. The jar is not even close to the crockpot... it is on the opposite side of the counter. I'm starting to feel a little better today. Let's hope that I will feel much better by the weekend! -Dustin |

Hey, I just learned that our bodies needs at least 2,000 mg of potassium! I will be taking more of those pills later today to slowly build up my potassium supply.

Hi Gwn- so much is going through your head right now. I cant beleive it either- 2 1/2 weeks for your 6 week adventure!! I know you'll do fine, Im selfishly worried about how we'll do while your gone!!!
missin ya alreaady!!!I wish I had all the answers but the biggest thing for you and me is portion control. If you can taste test these different foods and make sure the bulk of your menus are salads and protein, I think that would be a good plan. when I went off plan that first time, on vacation, in April, I didnt get upset stomach. But I ate waaaaaayyyyy too much of EVERYTHING CARB and didnt go to the bathroom all week! My tummy just got bigger and bigger. Not painful but very uncomfortable and gross feeling. So make sure you include LOTS of veggies to keep things moving! Can you bring the CO? That might help too (but I dont know how it will effect you weight wise with the extra carbs included) The one thing I do wish I did differently from my trip is wishing I didnt give in. It took me quite some time to get back on track and Im still struggling. You will be different though! You are much stronger and you'll be burning off all those extra calories hiking across Europe!!!! You should try to check out that new Julia roberts film EAT PRAY LOVE...I hear its really good! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Good morning everyone (I'm in California and with the time difference I always feel so far behind!) -
Checking in - today is day three and so far I have lost exactly two pounds (I'm ashamed to confess I'm a little disappointed it's not more :blush I go back to work the day after tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous because the teacher's lounge is notorious for being full of junk food. I've stopped eating lunch in there because I need the extra time in my room to grade papers, but it's right next to the copy machine, and there will be a lot of before school starts meetings in there next week. I will make sure I have plenty of chicken in my purse! I'm also taking my son to see his favorite group AllStar Weekend (not exactly Eminem! ) at the House of Blues in Anaheim on Saturday, which means avoiding all the delicious treats in Downtown Disney and dealing with lunch at the Rainforest Cafe (his favorite), but I'm going to be positive and get through it. This is my son's "end of summer" and "aww, I'm sorry you have to get glasses and you're only 8!" treat - I need to remember who the day is for (and not let well-meaning DH talk me into "one little bite!" - naturally, he's thin).Make it a great day, everyone! |

Hi Doxielove,
Have fun and be strong! Tell your son that I had to wear bifocals at age of 13 because of the way my eyes are shaped. I'm both near sighted and far sighted! -Dustin |

Hello!
I hope you all don't mind if I join in here? I have been reading through the threads and have made a firm committment to start Stillman QWL 100% on Friday, August 13--and do is absolutely pure for no less than 2 weeks. Just a little background: I've been on all sort of weight-reduction programs these past few years: Atkins, South Beach, WW, Jenny Craig--just name a few! Annnnd....I just keep getting bigger somehow. I'm 5'6, and for most of my 20s and early 30s I was between a size 6 and 8, weighing usually between 135 and 145. However, I started gaining weight a few years ago, and I just went through a very sad break-up a few weeks back. Instead of losing my appetite like MOST normal women---I tured to food (namely, carbs and sugar) for comfort. UGH. Now, I have been too chicken to get on the scale, but lets just say that some size 12s I have are getting too tight. ![]() ![]() But, I'm taking back control, and it's time to break the cycle of weight gain. I've started cutting back carbs today, but as I said, I will be starting hard core on Friday. I've read of the success many of you have had thus far and I'm VERY inspired! Thanks for listening to me ramble. ![]() |

Amen Kiley2801! You made the right step! I tend to turn to food when I'm bored or going through a bad emotional time. Join the club! It will be worth it! Sometimes I have visions of having my ex-wife regretting the divorce when I finally lose all of that weight! It makes me smile a little bit.

I went to my chiropractor this morning (LOVE her) and after hearing a few of her patients raving to each other about the B12 oral shots, I bought a box (Lord knows I need energy). But now that I read the box, I see that each one contains 3 grams of sugar and 2.5 grams of xylitol (I'm supposed to take one shot three times a week). Is that enough sugar to keep me from going into keotosis (I don't think I'm in it yet - today is only day 3)? Because if it is, I won't take them - it's not worth it to me to stall weight loss. Does anyone know?

doxie, I don't think that will do any damage at all! I have a splenda in my coffee every morning. I am sure you'll be fine! Let us know how those shots make you feel! Also, thank you for the advice... You're right about portions... I just watched the movie "In Bruges" last night and they had all the typical American generalizations... It was kind of humiliating... The super sized family that cussed people out, the snotty Americans dining and being pissed off at someone smoking next to them, the loud and obnoxious American. Are people really not overweight all over Europe these days, too?? I have to wonder. I've watched many documentaries about Europe and I always see overweight people in the background... Don't tell me they're all Americans. Either way, I am glad I am not going over there at my starting weight, being one of those "typical" Americans.
Ok Al, your deal, so we are holding you accountable! No chips and salsa tonight But if you're like me, you lose judgment when you drink and the chips and salsa literally call to you! Plus you tell yourself, at least I do, that I *need* them to soak up some of the alcohol Have fun!Welcome to the group, Kiley! You're in good hands here and what a great date to start on I also started on the 13th of the month, though I don't think it was a Friday Where is Kamills ???

Good Afternoon!
It's almost 2:00 pm. My side cramps are better since I took all of those extra potassium pills. In 2 more hours, I will be heading home. Whoo-Hoo! Then I will be taking some more CO. Hopefully tomorrow will be my DAY! -Dustin |

So I'm in the midst of finding a teaching job...I went on an interview last Tuesday and it went AMAZINGLY. The superintendent called me Thursday telling me how much she loved me and wanted me to do a demo lesson. She would call me this week to set up a date. Well she just called me and said there won't be a demo and she can offer me per diem substitute work...thanks but no thanks....SOOOO UPSET RIGHT NOW
....Had to vent a little. I just don't get how you can get someone's hopes up...then smush them? |

Sub jobs often lead to long-term subbing which is a great way to get your foot in the door! Do you ever leave candy bars with your card attached (you can even have wrappers specially made) in the teachers' lounges in your district? I know all the teachers at the different schools love it, and will often call a sub who goes out of their way to do something like that. Keep your chin up!
