Atkins Loser --Stillman Question
I was on Atkins since last Summer and lost 55#. Need to lose about 50 more. I was very strict until April. Now I am not as strict, not really cheating, but somedays eating too much, others not enough. Anyway, I was wondering if I did Stillman's for a few weeks or so, can I safely move to Atkins again and will it all be okay...I mean will Atkins work?

Congratulations on your loss! Stillmans will get you started losing again. Personally, I would use Stillmans to get to goal and then Atkins to start the maintaining. Come join us on the thread - August doesn't have a name yet, but you will see it. In the meantime, join us on the no lie July thread!

The way I read it, Stillmans is lean protein ONLY, no veggies, right? I want to lose another 70 pounds and wonder if it is safe to stay on meat only long enough to lose that much?

Any advice from Stillman long-termers is appreciated.

Hiya Barb! Lean protein is the way to go.. Hop on over to the August forum if you want to join the Stillman's losing team! We all have a story to share. . Vets and Newbies, alike! Anyway..you can kiss the weight goodbye in no time. Meat is the "weigh" to go. Stillman's has an alternate plan which includes some veggies..I am doing that now.. check out the stickies, first page of threads. . Join us. we love new success stories.. and I'm sure you'll be one!

Stillman includes taking a daily vitamin. Not that you will get the phytonutrients, but the 70 lbs may be the priority, and then add back the high nutrient, low carb veggies.

Hey there,

I've decided to start tomorrow and commit to 7 days of Stillmans and see how I feel. I am thinking after that I may do an Atkins/Stillman's hybrid deal (alternating days of meat only with days of meat and some low carb veggies). I did this before and had success with it. I don't eat dairy at all anymore so I'll mainly be doing lean beef, chicken, eggs, some fish, and ground turkey.
