Still can't believe it.
Hi.. I'm not new to low carbing but I'm new (ish) here. I come and go.
Quick background... on New Year's Day I weighed 323. I started doing a low fat low carb diet that I had trouble sticking to. I managed to lose some weight. By April I was 295 but going up and down.. so I decided to cut over to Atkins 72.. high fat it might be and more restrictive but I actually find it easier to stick to. I managed to get down to 260 with some stalls, the longest being for a solid month I was locked in at 260, no matter what I tried. Then came the 4th of July and I had a free for all. Of course we all know how that ends up and I zipped right up to 268 overnight (of course I know alot of that was water but still... OUCH) So last Thursday, weighing in at 266lbs I decided to give Stillman's a try. I knew it would be hard to stick to and isn't really intended as a way of life, but I hoped it would flame off the holiday regain and maybe help me break the stall. This morning my scale read 250. That's not a typo. That's 16 lbs in 4 days. How is that possible? I know most of it must be water. What I think happened is, that whole month I was stalled, I was actually burning fat but replacing it with water, or something! I think Stillmans has triggered my body to let go of whatever it was holding on to... along with burning off some fat of it's own. I know this crazy rate of loss can't continue. Has anyone else had an experience like this?? I am NOT complaining!!! ![]() |

Sounds wonderful peggypie. I just started stillmans today, looking forward to dropping some pounds. I have the stillmans book and I'm gonna read it too. I know some people lose some weight then stablilize and get used to eating right then go back and drop some more. My thing is I don't want my body to adjust eating too low and then i always have to eat so low. But my body really doesn't like this extra weight and the bloodwork shows that. I have to eat only the good fats when eating fat.
Anyway,,,,,welcome welcome and let's do this! ![]()

Hey gals! WTG.. that's the way Stillman's likes to roll!! This is the diet to beat all diets. We've had some real losers over the months and it can all be attributed to living a clean, Stillman's weigh! Actually, STillman's can be pretty constant but you must follow the plan closely for the most positive results. If you feel adventurous.. jump on over to the July board.. lots of support and motivation!
Either way, congrats on the losses. . I just love success stories.. (Peggy.. I started my journey on Atkins and left that behind last year.. I was stalled for a long time following the plan and always thought the fat was tooo high.. I was right!)
