Ketosis has really kicked in for me-I was making a cup of tea (there's a theme running thru my posts! He!) and I realised (as ya do!) that all I'd had today was an egg and a tin of tuna, and nothing since 4oclock and it was 9.30 when i was making the tea!! And I thought the no-hunger thing had worn off for me!! (it had tho!)

Hello everyone. I'm new here I just joined today. I found this site when I was googleing stillman's diet. I found that this site is wonderful to support eachother. Weight loss wasn't an issue for me until about 2 years ag. Anyway I wish everyone the best of luck in reaching your goals not only on weight loss but in life a well.
My reasons for losing the weight: To finally shop for a wedding dress To feel my age instead of twice my age To fit in my clothes comfortable without worrying about my rolls bulging out. To stop yoyo dieting!!!!!! |

OK> . Bad mom alert! Can you believe I did this? I'm such a dork! Anyway. .kids had a parade today (out of town) so me and the youngsters stayed home. . Even though tomorrow is the 4th, our big fireworks display is tonight. . I don't feel like going go so I bribed my children with a bon fire, marshmellows and chocolate!
So. .we are staying home but they are eating bad stuff. . not a way to set a very good example. . but, on the flip side of it. . I can get the chocolate out of my house! I can't believe I had some hidden in my liquor cabinet. . and I didn't even know it . LOL. .found it the other night when I was looking for something without carbs to drink. .nothing but pucker and butter shots left . . . someone else must have beat me to the rum. . .Just so you don't think I'm totally unpatriotic and evil.. we have another parade tomorrow so I plan to go to that one. .

Hi Rachel!
![]() Today was a high-fat day for me. Lots of exercise, but it was all work, cleaning and stuff. I still count it! Mim, I hope you are hanging in there. If not, keep insulin under control by having protein before carbs. Extra fat also will help mitigate the effects of bad food, as weird as it sounds. For instance, having lots of butter slathered on your sweet corn is less harmful to a ketogenic diet than having it plain. When I do a planned cheat these days, I make sure to have a hunk of meat or cheese first, so the insulin/cortisol does not come out and deposit more ugly fat on my belly. (Or at least not as much). Shunnamite mentioned the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet, and Dr. Atkins even gave some value to that research and theory. For those of you who can't keep away from the treats this weekend, if you can keep it down to a one-hour time frame, and have your protein first, it will lessen the damage. I did that diet many years ago and it worked, but only for about 20 pounds. Then I got into the habit of being a "food eating machine" for an hour every day. It wasn't pretty. Hope you are all having a happy, healthy Fourth of July weekend! So I can't invite anyone! Later, peeps.

Just making it known that the Candida cleanse damn near killed me today. Peeps, the "die off" effect is no joke. I felt like I had the flu, worlds worst hangover and food poisoning all at once today. Had to leave work early, threw up 7x today. Can barely keep water down, no chance of food. It's 11:30pm, I haven't gotten out of bed yet but going to try to eat some jello. Sorry been MIA. If I survive the night, I'll check in tomorrow

I had twenty pounds to lose and have lost 12. I am so pleased this morning because I went to my grandson's birthday party last night and ate a normal meal (modest) including a small slice of cake - had done Stillman's break and lunch tho- ACTUALLY LOST ANOTHER POUND - the point being, I think I will be able to maintain, eating Stillman breakfast and lunch and a small normal meal for dinner, when I reach my goal. Going on a 4 day trip with my husband today eating out, hope I can not gain. It's not "how long you can last", if you can just follow the rules for about 3 days, your appetite will go into hiding, and it is NOT HARD to stay on this diet! If you get hungry, just nibble a few slices of chicken and drink a glass of water - sometimes I think well no way is that going to satisfy me, but when I do it - five minutes later I feel fine. This is the nicest place for weight loss encouragement I have seen on the web - and I have LOOKED lol. |
